And there is a problem while doing this the meter and instrument cluster will look dam bad with it ..so you can't use it want to find out the older model one for the suitable look and style. Once i had changed my ride too but after few months I have return to the stock because of instrument cluster its an usefull thing ..fuel gage..

You need to start with 2.75 and proceed with 1/8th of a turn thereon. It is a trial and error method. Nobody checks this by default unless issue crop up. I had by Pulsar's carb at 3.25 turns with mileage of 49kms while my Avenger was at 6.25turns with mileage of 40kms approximately.

Anytime mate. By the way, ensure to have a clean air filter and oil. Warm up the engine and clean carb if it has not been cleaned for a while. Also check the carb boots for any air leak as it may give false results.

I don't think that my carb needs it coz... its just 1 year old and just run... 6500+kms.... and I don't feel any issues regarding that... though... its servicing is due and i'll be taking it for service next sunday so...

though the bike today... it must be b/w 3-4 turns max. (not sure coz was looking at rpm meter for stability...) and then tried pulling off in 5th gear at around 32kmph... (checking for knocking and stalling) and the bike took off without any hesitation or stalling... so i'm planning to keep that setting till at least the service... during which I'll get it checked by the mech. as well... and one thing more i'd like to mention is that I keep my idle rpm at around 800-850k when cold i.e. first start... and it goes it 1000k or max 1100k while hot... so this setting should be fine I think so... wat do you say...???

I am just tuning my bike so that there should be a uniform and an efficient combustion process in the chamber...

@petrolhead_chn sir and one more thing... my bike is making a 'trrr' sound while accelerations... so can that be a rocker problem or anything else or just the AFR setting... however that sound is reduced after tuning... @lockhrt999 sir any clue..???

^Can't tell without listening to sound first hand.
Idling is low. Keep it 1k for cold start or 1.5-1.7k for hot engine.

Today I'll break another myth,
It's generally assumed that keeping idling very low will save petrol. When the vehicle has taken some speeds and you let go of the throttle, the bike with very low idling, will experience excessive engine braking (Yes, engine braking is directly related to idling) and bike will lose its speed very fast and you end up accelerating it more often compared to bikes who has proper idling.

In another scenario, if you use engine braking to slow down (like I do), in ghats, tight turns and if it's raining bike may end up skidding during a gear change.

Also excess knocking is introduced by low idling which is not healthy.

Thanks lockhrt999 That's a real thing I got to know today... as every mechanic I met even the company get had set this idling... but yes agreeing to you point when I used to change gears... sometimes... I used to feel a jerk... will... do it tomorrow... but yes it saved me fuel... but will not compromise on engine's health...

These kind of sounds are very tricky. The bike has just covered 6.5k I do not think you should worry too much. Either you have too much information or too much worried in an effort to keep your bike in upbeat condition. Both might steer you to wrong direction. I wonder who gave you the pulling off at 5th gear and other ideas.

To keep things simple you need to help. Try to focus on the sound that you feel uncomfortable with and post a snap of it here. Have a friend or another to do the same and ensure both agree on the source of noise. If this is impossible a mechanic should possibly identify.

Hope that helps you. Whatever it is with the bike I assure you it will be narrowed down.

Ha Ha ha... you understood me sir... maybe its the worry factor... but I read the 5th gear article at various places for knocking though I didn't try it deliberately it just happened naturally once... and yes my friend agrees to the sound... just waiting for the bike to get serviced... but that sound has suddenly cropped up since a few months... Sir I ride really sanely (AFAIK) and no ripping or stunting... I keep my ride like a queen... but IDKY there's something that's lingering on mind regarding her... though thanks a lot for the advice...

My bike has only done 10K kms and is 3 years old... what do u think? Can wear and tear of the sprockets happen because of bad ridding habits or bad servicing or bad maintenance....?

Chain/sprocket which has gone kaput will make a lot of noise even after lubing. They will produce irregular vibrations at footpegs. Sprocket will have uneven wear like bent teeth or scratch groove marks caused by chain which can be observed by eyes. Google for worn out sprocket and you'll know.

Bad servicing or no maintenance or both will make them wear faster. According to Bajaj, sprocket and chain are need to be replaced every 10k km. But here on forum we have examples of the chain lasting upto 50k km with little maintenance. I like to take the bike to max between gear changes and the chain is pretty much virgin even after 20k km. SC will tell you to replace something every time you seek their suggestion. It's their job to sell as many parts as they can.

Chain shouldn't go crooked cause of worn out sprocket everytime! What I'm telling you that both front and rear sprockets could be either not colinear or not parallel and if they are, loosening or tightening the chain won't help. Bad job of adjusting tension will cause sprocket to go out of alignment.

Conservative mechanic is the best mechanic there is! If mechanic is telling you replace the parts ever time someone sneezes, run away.
If you don't understand what I mean by sprockets being not collinear and parallel do ask me for it, cause even this small write up ate half an hour and few brain cells so I don't want this doesn't go wasted.

Ya sure when i start my bike on the morning there's a noise from the engine side and its become lager while running I have checked all but no use, i have gone to the service adviser from bajaj today he told me thats it's from the rockerarm and its not a major essue , all new pulsars have the sound . But hearing it I'm not satisfied and will it be solved by any way
