I can't seriously imagine life with Bike stolen. Let's hope police will find it.

It's a warning to all of us. These bikes are easy to fiddle with and hence we should put our own security.
This happened in a reasonably well-off locality in South Delhi. Bike was locked using the handle-lock. It appears it's pretty easy to break that if someone knows what they're doing.
Really guys, don't leave any stones unturned in ensuring your bike's safety. Get a disc lock or an original Autocop system at the least.
I wish there was a LoJack-like system for bikes here in India as well.

        . hai....leave it mann...
now i realized that this idling adjusting is very simple. that screw is very simple to turn, with our fingers. so any one here facing low idling rpm or high, can do this.
one question, whether it will affect in any manner to the carburetor factory setting?

No it won't affect carb factory settings. Basically this screw is just a low end limiter to throttle and nothing else. Pull the throttle and have a look at that screw at the same time, you will understand.

This screw tells how much petrol should be pushed into engine when you don't pull the throttle. So less petrol > less idle RPM > increased engine braking > less throttle Response > but more average. OR more petrol > more idle RPM > lowered engine braking > increased throttle response > but reduced average.

How are things going with Cops and Insurance company?

We ought to get a tracking device or something. I think disk locks are not much effective as most of the times thieves instead of breaking the lock they simply put whole bike into auto and run away with it.

yeah...thats how i located this screw as idle screw.

This screw tells how much petrol should be pushed into engine when you don't pull the throttle. now my idle rpm is set to 900rpm when engine is cool.no starting problems.it starts just in a single crank.yes, the throttle response is little low, but can manage it.i want better efficiency.

              • from the last 2,3 days some sound is coming out from the head light. its a very little voice, like a tuk,tuk sound.today morning went to the s.c and s.c mechanic dismantled the whole head light, and done some thing, then refitted it. but the same sound was there. then after a small test ride, told it to them. then s.c mech said me to gave bike there and they will do a detailed check up. then s.c mech said to the s.c head that
""whole things in the head light is checked, dont know whats the problem. will check it once again.""

dont know what the hell is in my bikes head light. sound is very little,it can clearly hear when ear is placed just near the head light.anyway its too much irritating when riding.

                anybody else here felt this?

                    • Hey guys,
I was looking for a second hand bike and found a Pulsar 180 (Oct,2008) clocked 16k km and the guy says 40k( negotiable) i find it to be a good deal !

So i was gonna check out the bike this weekend,
So what are the known issues which i should look out for a 3 year old pulsar 180?
And what kindof mileage can i expect ?

2008 Pulsar 180 UG3 cost around 30,000 Rs at best. Not a penny more. Bike has no problems as such and mileage of 40-45 kmpl can be expected with good riding habits.

Am sure that they will not be able to recognize and solve the problem. This sound comes from the lock mechanism which prevents the handle bar movement when the bike is locked. I will post the pictures soon.

but how this make such noise?
no other sounds are coming...only this small disturbance.
and a little from the tail piece.
already the whole head light was shaking like hell.it was much noticeable in the road when head light was on, this sound was also there.then thought that it will disappear after solving this..now shake is gone, but sound is there.then again gone to s.c and they attached some rubber piece between all screw contacts in the head light using some glue. problem not solved, then atlast today bike is there...already head light got some scraches on black plastic thing by screw driver..dont know what will happen now
