If it doesn't leak oil, then it matter. A picture would be better though.

    • Pulsar 180 ug3 problems.

Hey guys...I just started riding my pulsar ug3 about 2 months back,I always wanted to ride a bike,so I got myself a 3rd hand pulsar 180 ug3 in very bad shape. Back then I didn't know anything about bikes. So I took it to a mechanic for a service recently and he told me the things wrong with the bike.
1)bent front disk(the handle bar vibrates while riding)
2)clutch plate(bike makes noise when shifting especially 1st and 2nd gear and downshifting)
3)swing arm has an horizontal motion I guess
      4)screwed up rear shock

How much would repairing all this cost me?
Personally I don't like the gear shifter on the ug3.can I fix a ug4 shifter?
I don't like the ug3 footrests either can I fix ug4 foot rests?
I was thinking of adding these clip ones too

So how much would all of this cost me?
Should I do it with the same mechanic? Or the showroom?

Bent front disk will create jamming in wheel rotation at bent spots. Handlebar vibes are generally due to misaligned front wheel. Get the wheel checked along with t clamp bearings in handlebar.

2)clutch plate(bike makes noise when shifting especially 1st and 2nd gear and downshifting)

What's the odo reading on the bike? Several possibilities here. Loose chain, incorrect clutch play, worn clutch plates, shifter fork problem, worn gears due to unnecessary usage, etc.

3)swing arm has an horizontal motion I guess

Get the wheel bearings as well as swingarm bushes checked. Possibly due to worn shocks.

          4)screwed up rear shock

          Replace both shocks.

It depends on the work and parts. Could be around 7-8k.

          No idea

If your showroom mechs are competent or you have a good rapport with them, it's good at showroom. If you have a trusted experienced mech outside, you can get the work done over there

          • Pulsar 180 rearsets

I know I know there are already posts about this,I am asking this question because I'm still confused.
So I own a pulsar 180 ug3 I'm adding faux Clipons to it so I'd like to have rear sets too..
Are a 180ug4 foot brackets a perfect fit? Or should I go for pulsar 200?
Please help me out before I make a bad investment.
And I'm sure I need to but gear shift lever and brake lever of the pulsar 180ug4.

The complete foot rest assembly Pulsar 180 ug4 can be fitted to your pulsar 180 ug3, but you might have to get some minor mods done, so find a good mechanic who has expertise in such type of work. We got it done on my friends pulsar 150ug2.

Can you give me an idea about what kind of mods are you talking about? And thanks for the reply.
1 thing I've read about is some jugaad needed to fit the silencer
Apart from that? Are the foot brackets and the gear shift assembly and brake assembly a direct fit?

Hi you won't need any kind of mods those assemblies will fit directly, well they did fit directly on 150 so there won't be a problem with 180

Guys I'm looking for a original stainless steel silencer of pulsar 180 classic. I couldn't find any even used ones. Need some help. Im from tamilnadu and I checked the most popular Pudupet in chennai. Any idea where I can source one from? Or can I fit the 220's silencer? Will it have any adverse effects on the engine bore?

                      Cheers,

                        All,

Need some help with tyres on UG 4. The default came in with: front : 90/90 - R17(Zapper FS) and Rear 120/80R17(Zapper C). Finally its now time to change these. The local MRF shop is Quoting as below.

                        Zapper FS(same) - 1900/-
RevZ (same spec and ply rating) - 2900/-

                        1. The current rear tyre(Zapper C) served me good but unable to find same tyre - is revz better tyre ?
                        2. Any other better tyre ? - My usage is city/highway riding only.
                        3. Front side i definitely want to change to 100/90-R17. need more grip. -- can somebody suggest any good tyre for front side. will it be a problem if size chnaged - some reviews say this wider tyre can be fitted without changes.

Not interested in soft compound tyre - a medium type should do.

                        Thanks in advance

I've upsized front and now steering is heavy
