For a manual transmission vehicle, every gear has a fixed ratio. So after any service, it isn't going to change. 55Kmph @ 4k will always be the same unless you change anything in the gear ratio or front/rear sprocket.

My pulsar 180, first service is completed 2 days back. I see some good improvement but, earlier to service, I used to go with 4000 RPM which is of 55kmph speed. Even after the service my bike is going with 55kmph only at 4000 RPM.. It should change right..?

And what's the top speed I can go after first service..?

    Thanks in advance..

    • Pulsar 180 UG4 Headlight Upgrade

Hi Guys.. am back here to this community after a long time. i could really use some better advices. I own a pulsar 180 UG4 with 35W headlight. I wish to upgrade it with a 55/60W headlight provided by Philips or Osram. Since UG4 have full DC i read its just Plug and Play. But i am not sure if it works since the Stator, Regulator, ICU etc. Please advice me guys.

      Thanks in Advance.

It's plug and play but can cause battery drain if not cared properly. I've been using it for more than 2 years and battery holds good till date. Change the pilots and rear plate bulb to leds and then install the 55w bulb. Even after these, make sure the bike is used above 2.5k rpm as much as possible.

Thanks John. Actually i am using 2 pilot lamps of 3W each SMD Led and park bulb is of 3 W too.. i usually keep my RPM between 3K- 4.5K. I have doubt if pulsars electrical system regulates the current flow to headlight bulb as 3A so as to make up 35W. (12V*3A).

Actualy as per bajajs recomendation u have to keep below 45kmph during first 1000KM and below 55kmph during the next 1000KM

It doesn't regulate current. If it does, then battery drain wouldn't be possible. 60/55w halonix bulb produces larger area of low beam and high beam with a little wing like projection on both sides. Brightness is high though.

Ok. Thanks John. I am planning to buy Philips Xtreme Vision Plus 55/60W bulb. Its having better reviews and i would be fitting a pair of auxilary fog lamps to be operated on demand if in case of Headlight failure.

Use either the headlights or the aux lights. The stock alternator and rr is not strong enough to supply current for both lights. Headlights don't fail that easily and the bcu will automatically switch to the other filament if one fails. So no worries. I'm planning to rewind the coil and change the rr to see if it's possible to extract more juice from the engine, though mileage will take a hit.

Oh nice. Please update me about the result so we could convert our electricals to 55W..

                        Hi friends,

Im having a p180 ug3 model having done about 98k kms. A few days ago i cleaned both the spark plugs and cleaned the sediment bowl of the fuel cork and refitted it.
Since then i have been getting sudden jerks while riding all through the rpm range and also cranking up is become very troublesome now. Happens a lot in 1-4 gears. And pottering around is a nightmare, i have to intermittently rev the bike to keep it from stalling.
What could have gone wrong? Has anyone had this issue?

                        Thanks in advance.

The new bs4 pulsar 180 will have dual disk for front and rear too. Saw some snaps on the net as the company has been forced by the new norms t ok bring in the bs4 engines. Hence this small change will show it's colors in 2016 end. Just wait and watch scene.

By dual disc, do you mean a disc at front and rear OR dual disc up front?
BS4 is for emissions and not related to braking.
Btw, the 180 will now come with a rear disc instead of the drum brake, and the console is backlit in blue.

Yes fitted just as i removed it.
Does it leave an air pocket?
