I was also considering Michelin sporty. I'm not looking for any modifications to chain setting and minimum FE drop, if any. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Yup it will fit but ill suggest u to go with zapper c 120/80
    And zapper Fs 90/90
Stock setup of ug4 zappers are more grippier than Michelin pilot sporty

The specs that you mentioned are p220 stock. I spoke to a mechanic and he said rear won't fit properly, will have issues with swing arm, and the mileage and pickup will drop significantly. He said he had put it on another bike and had to take out as it wasn't working out. Regarding the stock tyre price, he said 4200 for both. Is this price decent? As a reference Flipkart quoting 2400+2100 for same tyres.

See for the front instead of zapper fs get zapper FY1, it's r15 v2 stock front tyre the size is same 90, the grip is excellent, I have been using this tyre for my 180 and the results are very good. The price i paid at mrf exclusive store was 1900rs so don't pay anything above that. And about the rear, the zapper c costed me 2100rs at the same mrf exclusive store, so don't pay anything above that too. So the total you should pay is 4000rs. Don't buy from mechanic, he is having his own commission in between, go to a proper store
          Peace

Off late when i gave the bike to sai service they say the balancer gear needs to be replaced and that the new part will not fit the old bike . Has anyone managed to fit the new balancer gear with the plastic gears on a 180 classic ? if so how ? the bike vibrates like crazy and its not ride able . i would have to scrap it because of this one part .
any help would be appreciated or if u know a good pulsar mechanic .

Thanks for advice and pricing tip. The fy1 size is 90/80 17 TL, while stock front FS is 2.75 - 17, bit unclear about the two. Are you using stock for rear? Secondly, which is your pulsar. Mine is ug (3 or 4) with black engine and alloy wheel but single seat and not split seats.. Heck let me put a pic tomorrow.

Well i know it's 90/80, but it doesn't matter that much, I have been using this tyre for the last 10,000 kms and had no issues, this is the best tyre I ever had
Yes it's stock, i tried searching for a different tyre but was unsuccessful, so got the stock for the replacement (this is my second tyre) but I am not happy, next time I will definitely get a different tyre. My pulsar is ug4, 2010 model. For your bike as it's ug3, the stock tyre size is 110, so get 120 maximum, don't go over it. Zapper vyde is a good tyre

I am content with bike UG 4 even after years but have gripe for chain noise.
I have done Chain sprocket replacement at 19000km and now I am 41k KM.
See these 2 videos where the Bike chain is jumping..

Is there a possibility that sprocket is misaligned and loose in front, thats why chain is jumping like this.

Any Visit to ASS they say same, need replacement on chain sproket, is 20k or so life of sprocket. I drive in city and highway intercity rides on weekend nothing beyong 70km in a day(which is less only)

After a 80km high speed run, the bike idles with this sound. Some clanking sounds are also heard. But acceleration is good. Is this normal? Here is the link to the idle engine..

The speeds maintained were around 85-95 kmph. The bike is a bliss when maintaining those speeds..except for those engine sounds. Vibes were nearly absent at 90kmph speeds.

                          Hi ,

The part number is DH101432 .The company has stopped making this apparently . i have written an email to Bajaj for the same then have yet to get back to me . I doubt they would care. I'm located at Santacruz west Mumbai.

If you can get me the part i will pay for it and the shipping cost and a little extra for your help.

                          cheers

                            1. I do know the tensioner nut but how do I adjust it? Only one screw and it simply winds everything back. Any trick for this?

                            2. Checked it around 2k kms back. Will check it again.

                            3. How can loose electrical connection cause these mechanical noises? Any pointers?

                            4. Using shell 20w50 mineral oil for 1.7k kms. Oil still has some life in it. Carb was last set using Co meter in svc.

So timing chain, tappets and engine oil are the main points to look out for..

I checked with chennai Bajaj dealers. Unfortunately the last piece was sold some days back it seems. Price was Rs.623. I knew this issue because I changed it for my pulsar 180 classic two months back and I got it from them. The alternative part is now DH102053 which is the plastic scissor gear as you said. The shaft has to be altered to fit this in and it won't have any issues it seems. They confirmed that 95% of pulsar mechanics know how to do this and they can do it well. Hope you get that part there.

                              All the best!

Yeah, the tensioner is actually automatic, but sometimes it gets loose due to wear & tear. there is one screw, just slightly tighten it & leave it. Also, tensioner in pulsar tend to fail randomly. you may replace this part, it costs 200/-

I hope your oil pump is working well. + make sure your oil pump & oil strainer is fully clean. If your bike has run more km's I suggest a proper look at head valves too.
