Any idea of how to take this apart?

I had a spare console from my friends 150 and so i tried to take the bulb from it. I was quite able to do that easily. I tried to take everything apart to understand the mechanical things. Except this trip counter I was able to dismantle everything and put it back together. But I ended up breaking all the needles. Cuz those were really flimsy and like worn out being ages under day & night. I tried carefully but never couldn't pull with out breaking them. Any tricks to take the needles easily? I find them stuck strongly due to the magnetic pull as well..

Inputs will be helpful for DIY's.

Oh! sounds like i have to get a electrician involved to do the rectifier part. I dont wanna mess up the wiring as i recently changed it completely. Let me just leave it like that. Actually i understood the light spread isuue of the LED's you said as soon as i opened the console. Cuz the bulb is in a holder like plastic mould and not exposed fully.

Thanks for the input. It is really helpful.

It's actually very simple.. I can draw a rough circuit for it if you need it. As for leds, you could try to cut off some of the insulation of the holder or get ordinary leds. One suggestion is to focus the light on the white walls. It should diffuse the light and should give a visible glow of light. But you may need more bulbs for it.

That was so nice of you. I love DIY stuffs. Please draw the circuit for me. As for the LED's i can probably figure out a LED strip and paste it some where that it lits the whole dial. Though the watts had to be calculated. The bulbs were of 12v 3.4w I guess. Please shower with your knowledge about them too.

              Thanks again!

Leds take around 0.25w current.. So no problem. If the leds are 12v ones, the 1k-ohm resistance before the led is not needed. The picture shows the circuit. It should, at max, take the size of a small match box. This circuit will also reduce flickering of light..

Hai.. Friends..am here to ask help for my pulsar 180 ug4-2010 model. Basically same engine like pulsar 200 without kicker.current odo reading-96,000 kms.coming to the point, it feels like time for a piston change. What about going for a p-200 cylinder piston kit. Is it a direct fit. Also heard like 220 cam shaft is good in 180. Need all ur suggestion here as soon as possible.
                    Thank you...

Ug4 series 220 and 180 are nearly same. But you have to change the crankshaft too. Rest all major components are same. I have no idea about 200 kit. P220 camshaft is a high lift cam design and hence it will have better high end power. The major difference between p220 and 180 in engine are piston kit, oil cooler and 5th gear ratio. Rest are same.

Finally was able to source a original shock absorber for my pulsar 180 classic. Probably, this should be the last left out piece in chennai.

                        • Pulsar180 UG3 - replacing stock tyre with tubeless issues.

I want to change the stock tyres in my Pulsar UG3 with tubeless tires, few of my friends advised me its better to go with tube, since the alloy was not meant for tubeless there might be air leaking issues, went to some tyre shops and asked about this, I got conflicting opinions from them.

Can anyone help me here, should I go ahead with tubeless or stick with tubed tyres ?

                          Thanks.

Its strange. If you are going for stock size tyres you should have no problem with the tubeless. My friend's 150 runs on tubeless and had no problems.

get yourself tubeless ones. You only need to upgrade the air valves. I think they cost around 100-150. That's it. I don't believe that motorcycle manufacturers would create 2 different designs of alloy wheels, one for tube type and another for tubeless, wouldn't that just increase their production costs??

Well if anyone is wondering regarding tyres, the best for front is MRF zapper FY1 (r15 v2) it provides superior grip and cornering capabilities, been 10,000 kms and no punctures or any issues and I think the tyre would last for another 10,000 kms
                                Peace
