Well at the end of the day the bike is there the tank is full the roads are empty lets ride and enjoy inspite of thinking of which spark plug will ignite first.

The engineers have made the machine for us to enjoy or rather get on to the engine and start the question from them.

I rather go to the company and ask them in person.
Oh sir, i like your approach to biking.. but some of us always need more info for one reason or the other - yeh dil maange more !
btw i disagree with one part of your post.. "the roads are empty" - they aren't what they used to be

And oh, if you could, the next time you visit the service center can you ask them about this spark plug firing question and let us know their answer ?

There was no info on my P180 ug4 specific manual. What you posted is a new common manual for all pulsars(Yes Bajaj now prints same manual for all pulsars, stupid cost cutting), it would never have such info and most of the stuff written there is wrong.
I don't know where I read 4k RPM, I have many manuals, I'll have to go through them all.

There is this service manual which I had uploaded several years back.
It says ignition map changes at 1.5k and 3.5k RPM. But both spark plugs run from the start. Second shuts at 6k RPM and both shut off after 10k RPM. (Remember the manual is meant UG3 and UG3 has different power bands)
@arjunb25: I think company says 4k RPM like lakshay singh was told. Maybe the ignition map is changed at 4k for UG4.
s1d: you were right, spark plugs start at the start but ignition map changes at 3.5k rpm (or maybe at 4k for UG4)

yes I can but what do u want me to see in it.

also for the 180 what i have learnt today from the main service head that when we ignite the vehicle our first and foremost left spark plug starts and for the second one starts after 40 or 4000 rpm.

for this he also told me if u take out the left hand side spark plug the vehicle will not start and if u take out the right hand side spark plug the vehicle will stop after 40.

What else u wish me to guide her please tell as this topic is interesting and my brain have also started working on this.

That's exactly the same manual that i refereed to and which is available at various sources online and i posted a link to it in one of my earlier posts.

Yep like i mentioned it's in that workshop manual.. there might be some minor variation in the plug firing/cut off rpm's and the ignition map changing rpm's from version to version..

As I love the loud noise from the silencer but also I don't want to change the stock one well I know Joel is an option available out there but the bike is brand new. please give your best points on this I will be waiting thanx

I got my bike serviced yesterday at 400 km. poured engine oil moto 4 gold 20w50 1 ltr.

Changed the air filter with a new one. All the nut bolts got them tightened as they were very loose.

but still I am not exceeding my rpm above @4000 till 1000 km is complete on the odo.

look what I found all to the dam dtsi and there technology.
also I have the pdf format of the current book of pulsar 180 ug4 how do I upload it here? Please guide me for the same
DTS-i
A patented technology that has made Pulsar the most followed bike both on the road and in competition R&D labs.

At the heart of every Pulsar is one of the most sophisticated engine technology this country has ever built. The DTS-i System. A technological marvel that ensures maximum performance with the lowest consumption and emission levels possible. We will be more than happy to let a Pulsarmaniac like you, get to know the secret behind this breakthrough Pulsar technology.

DTS-i ENGINE
TRICS III

Power and torque requirements constantly change, depending on whether the rider is cruising, accelerating or is at high speeds/max speed.

Throttle Responsive Ignition Control System - III is an intelligent system which can quickly adapt ignition timing to suit different riding characteristics.

::: Benefit: :::

TRICS III helps in achieving a good balance between low-to-mid range torque and top-end power.

This helps to ride easily in different conditions like flyovers, hilly areas, dense traffic and highway cruising

TRICS III is patented by Bajaj Auto Ltd.

INTELLIGENT C.D.I.

The Intelligent Capacitor Discharge Ignition contains a microprocessor, which continuously senses different speeds and load on engine and responds by altering ignition timing.

Working together with the TRICSIII system, the microprocessor's memory provides optimum ignition timings for any given engine rpm, thereby obtaining the best combustion performance.

::: Benefit: :::

Improves fuel-efficiency and reduces engine noise and vibration through smoother power delivery.

Intelligent CDI is patented by Bajaj Auto Ltd.

TWIN SPARK IGNITION

Normal ignition system has a single spark plug. The flame front created by the spark takes some time to reach the entire combustion chamber. Hence the burning of air-fuel mixture is slow and incomplete.

In case of twin spark, two spark-plugs fire at the same time. This simultaneous firing and swirl of the air-fuel mixture results in complete combustion. This action is digitally controlled by the DTS-i system (namely the twin spark plugs, TRICS III and intelligent CDI)
::: Benefit: :::

Complete combustion of air-fuel mixture gives maximum power without sacrificing mileage output.

Ensures emissions are eco-friendly

TRIPLE SPARK TECHNOLOGY

Three spark plugs provide unprecedented performance and efficiency - Fast and optimal combustion at part load conditions results in better fuel efficiency and ensures lower emissions.

The high performance triple spark engine controlled by an advanced Electronic Control Unit, is the technology of the future. Combustion in a triple spark engine is 27% faster than a twin spark and 50% faster than a single spark engine.

now this

4 VALVE
A typical 2 valve engine has just 1/3 combustion chamber head area covered by the valves, but a 4 valve head increases that to more than 50% area. Because of this flow area of intake & exhaust port / passages leading to valves also get increased.

This facilitates induction of more quantity of charge (air-fuel mixture) and also evacuation of all burnt gases inside the combustion chamber ensure faster, cleaner & more efficient combustion. This engine has 2 intake & 2 exhaust valves compared to 1 Intake & 1 exhaust Valve of a 2 valve engine. These valves are smaller & light weight compared to that of 2 valve engine. 4 Valves (2 Intake & 2 exhaust valves) are introduced to improve breathing means - intake & exhaust process of engine..

source of this format is here.
