Yep every weekend, washing, polishing and chain lubing. Week mein office and home ka distance goes above 200-300kms and i like to keep it clean.

Head and Shoulders shampoo - 2rs
WaxPol - 65rs for 100ml - Lasts for 40 odd polishing sessions, very strong.
Oks Chain Spray - 240rs - 500ML - Lasts for around 15 spray sessions (Two rotations on chain)
And plenty of water.

Thumbs Up! for the baby care. I usually go for 3M polishing and detailing available at Bajaj SC they do good job, once 3 months or as I get time. They charge 450 Rs for once.

@abhi: yes, I'm still on 55W.

@eshan: Yes I can install a 55W bulb. It doesn't require any modification if you're a casual night rider. But if you do night riding quite often then two mods are necessary: rewinding the stator coil with thicker gauge and replacing recharging unit (RR) with Ape RR.

Yes, iam having a tough time riding at night, mostly its the NH4 from Hinjewadi to Sinhagad Rd after office. Couple of weeks back my left mirror hit a guy who was crossing the road, i couldnt see him crossing, when the mirror and handle bar got a jerk thats when i knew i hit someone. The Stock bulb is useless!!! Help me out at the soonest. Thanx for your time.

How's it running? Any battery issues, Have you downgraded the parking light and rear number plate light bulbs?

Sole reason that I never ride out at nights except in city. Want to upgrade to HID but can't find a good mechanic who could do it with projector fitting in the stock headlight dome and I am not good at DIY.

Hey why don't you upgrade or replace your stator coil with that of the OLD Eliminator 180 stator coil, old E180 had 55W/60W bulb and so their coil was more powerful and sufficient for 55W bulb. Also as it is Bajaj the coil fits in our bikes also (P150, P180, P200). You don't need to rewind the coil just change the coil and RR unit to that Eliminator 180. Don't remember the Part No. Someone else from here might help, because i got the details from here only for upgrade.
i have done the same thing but instead of 55W bulb i have plonked 35W HID 4300K, which is more than sufficient for me.

Now thats something iam looking for. Any idea about costs, cz the SVS is other side of the city.

Or let me know what needs to be asked to the SVC people. Will call them up and find out.

AFAIK, Eliminator was 175cc. Also it was not Bajaj. It had Kawasaki logo on it. I know since I owned one for 8 years.

~500 Rs for Ape RR, should be available at any Ape showroom(Don't know any particular part number). Another hundred or two for rewinding, this can be done at roadside electrical repairing shop (I haven't done this mod so can't recommend any shop).

Oh yes. These days I ride once in a week that too at night mostly. Low battery indicator blinks all the time. Light is very dim, can't even make out the light throw. Main problem is battery draining, secondly the light throw has widen a bit. Sometime I think, things were better with old 35W as it was good for short distance. I had adjusted the reflector in such a way that it produced excellent light throw for riding upto 50kph.

No matter how much battery is draining, bike starts without any problem.

Basically math is very simple, in ideal world 35W bulb needs 3 Ah (amps hours) to run @12V 35W=12V x 3 Ah. Similarly 60W bulb would need 60W=12V x 5 Ah. A brand new fully charged battery can provide 9 Ah = 5 Ah x 2 hours.
Ideally RR should let in more than 6 Ah to run 55/60W bulb properly, which will stop the bulb from pulling energy from battery.
^But that's not the case here, we don't live in the ideal world. After 2 years battery can't fill in energy more than half of what's labelled.

Fortunately it didn't turn out any more severe than that.
I seriously doubt upgrading to 55W will solve your problem. See, you'll need to spend ~700 for flawless 55W mod job and it won't even guaranty the satisfaction. Some people will suggest to even go for osram night breaker, phillips xtreme vision which will escalate budget by another 500 to 900 Rs. They only offer marginally more brightness than normal halogen. At the end of the day what's halogen stays halogen.

Probably only solution for you is HID as you ride for minimum 1 hour daily on a dark NH in deadliest city on this planet. A 55W halogen gives ~33-50% more brightness than 35W. but a 35W HID is ~400% more bright than 35W halogen. You should be able to get a decent HID done in 1600.
Although HID is 35W, to lit it, it's like starting bike's engine, need substantial energy momentarily. I don't see any point recommending for stator coil and RR upgrade in your case as you'll riding on the highway mostly, meaning less times of turning on/off bulb. For major city use, I think, stator and RR upgrades are needed.

Try HID without projector as projector is not good at high beam throw. They minimize the glares, yes, but that's the concern for city only riding.

I'm still using a pair of bright leds for parking bulbs. Haven't done anything to number plate bulb.

That was possible on UG3 or earlier.
The stator coil on Eliminator provides electricity directly to bulb as it's AC (not full DC like UG4 pulsar180). Same goes for RR from eliminator, not meant for full DC bike. Another thing, is that eliminator, avengers stator coil are incompatible with UG4 P180 because full DC avenger has 3 phase alternator stator whereas our p180 has single phase only.
With UG4 the only option is to rewind the coil and upgrade the RR.

A stator coil costs ~550, whereas rewinding can be done under Rs. 100 or 20 if you do it yourself and it's not like rewinding is any less reliable than a new stator.

I am using 55W philips normal halogen bulb without any modification. Been using since November 2011, so that is around 6 month. Till last one month, I had taken out parking lamps, and it wasn't giving any problem, but recently I plonked in new white light parking lamps, since then the low battery indicator keeps coming, but no light dimming or such thing(though light is brighter, but not satisfactory, so i guess HID is solution). But yes, if i blow horn with lights, it's audibly weaker.

your bike is P180, i guess, UG3 or 4.

there are other things apart from DC conversion and that is BCU bypass for starter to function normally.

i have done this years ago and still using it every night for two hours. if you need further help, buzz me.

infact, if i am not praising myself, am one of the very few persons in pune who has done this, if i am not wrong.

only thing is - it is very difficult for me to attend G2G's, thats why we have never met, infact i have met very few xbhpians in pune, may be one or two.

Philips HID are great but needed to be bought in pairs if I'm not wrong. And one need to buy ballast separately, right?

What I think, good Chinese HID with proper mod can be as reliable as Philips. It might damage reflector in long run, but then it's cheap to replace. Even with that money one can get a projector as well. My assumptions can be wrong as I haven't done this. But seriously with new RR + Philips HID + separate ballast costs will easily escalate above 7000-8000.
