  • haha. i know what you mean. but you wouldn't say that if you saw it in the flesh.
it looks mean in matt black... even better than lime green.

my initial intention was to paint it matt black n just have a yellow 46 on the front end of the bike.
ala VR's first ducati test bike.

this is just a temp paintjob tho... once the monsoons are gone...
it'll be back to ninja green.

i'm working on sourcing Kawasaki Lime Green from Singapore.

    one thing i'll say tho...
the RTO never seem to pull me over since i did this mod.
it's been 3 years or so now... not even once.

    weird!

That's heck of kms ridden by you. How much rebuilds have happened leaving the current one? This picture does'nt do justice to the bike, post some high res snaps. The bike looks Nice. Congrats and great going!

        • Guys what's the maintenance associated with silencer and exhaust?
There's a lot of bhur bhur sound coming from exhaust.
Meanwhile I tuned AFR a little. Factory setting was 2.7 turns from sully closed. Currently I've set it at 2.2 from fully closed. Power delivery has come to normal but still wasn't able to get rid of backfires. I think backfires are causing due to something's stuck in exhaust.

Also when I fully closed AFR screw bike should stall, right? It didn't.

Even my bike's engine does'nt stall, only that its idle goes lower than 1 K but it does'nt stall. You should'nt worry for furr furr sound as it is normal. Only if you hear backfire like phat.... (usually common in old scooters) the AFR is needed tobe adjusted, my bike makes this furrr... furr.. sound too and its been since day one.

I tried many (rich and lean both) AFR settings. It doesn't change backfiring.
SO there's no maintenance associated with exhaust?

Could you post an audio clip? Because the sound you are talking about is also there in my bike and I don't feel that it is by any way backfiring.

No no. Both are different sounds. Bhur bhur is there always which is accompanied by small backfires( occurs mostly when engine braking used at high speed)
                  I'll upload audio/video sample later.

                  • Its been 3 years i had this bike with me... Saturday was the last day before i bid a final goodbye. It had been present in all the ups and downs of my life. I mean those 3 years were the best years of my life. I had the discover and dio before but i could not feel what motorcycling was all about till i had the Pulsar 180. Now it lies in the hands of a re-seller who has promised to search for a good owner. I would still contribute my 2 cents in this thread because the 180 is a superb machine. My current steed would be the R15 V2.0, expecting its delivery on Thursday

                    P180 you will be missed.

I don't know any guy who has installed kick but may I know why would want to install kick leaver to the bike? It will look damn ugly.
These guys including myself have been using this model since 2-3 years now and none of us has ever faced any starting trouble. Bike comes with a huge 9Ah maintenance free battery so no need to worry. These days I take out the bike once in a two weeks and it still starts at first crank.

On an average bike gives average of 45 KMPL. High speed touring will give average ~42 KMPL.

Pillion seat is comfortable enough for short person (ex 5'4"). Taller pillion might complain on long tours as the rear foot pegs are located near to the seats. This isn't applied to only this bike but to the whole segment. Only Splendor, Passion, Disco and bullets have so called good pillion seats. That being said P180 is one of the best touring machine available out there as it has longer wheelbase (= less efforts needed to keep bike straight) so one can ride for hours without straining the body.

Although official servicing interval is 5000km, it is recommended to do it after 3000km. Also the official bajaj engine oil is prohibited. Riders have great experience with motul and valvoline oils. Apart from oils, servicing shouldn't cost above 300Rs.

What kind of problem you faced with engines in the past? Pulsar series is very rugged and doesn't have any know major issues. The problem one faces with the Pulsar are mostly introduced by the service center's negligence and no pulsar owner will differ on this truth. Looking at your past experience I'll advice to buy from different showroom and try different authorized service center or even far that matter don't use A.S.S. and stick to your faithful local mechanic.

If you're not considering karizmas than Pulsar are the only choice you have considering your height. BTW If you can stretch your budget have a look at the Pulsar 200NS. Rs 95K is a perfect VFM price point. Also it gives more average despite being far more powerful.
