oh yes.. i've seen that too... was asking if it is a direct fit.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Post@xionite: Yes, that is possible. I have seen P180's with rear discs of P220.
don't want rear discs... want to keep the mag stock for now.
with the rear disc mod... i'd have to change the swingarm, the rear disc assembly, the rear wheel, the right rearset. don't want all of that.
planning on doing the mod soon. so was asking.
the reason for changing the swingarm is... i plan prolly add on an FZ mag later on..

If anyhow you are not going to upgrade to disk brakes then what is the use of P220 swing-arm?Originally posted by xionite View Postoh yes.. i've seen that too... was asking if it is a direct fit.

Also I would like to ask whether the swing-arm of P220 and P180 UG4 the same? If I want to upgrade to disk brakes then can I do it straightly?

yes they are same.Last time i checked with Bajaj Spare parts guy,
You need to get 220 swing-arm assembly -cost around 800.
Rear alloy wheel compatible with disk around :2900
Rear disk kit : around 2200
other parts
total he gave me for parts only it might come around 6 to 7 K
I think the major one is rear alloy wheel.try searching for secondhand one ,you can get it around 1000 to 1500 rs.
,even i saw the honda dazzler and apache 180. which i think does not require swing arm change .Does any have kept apache, dazzler, disk brakes in pulsar ug-4?

Thanks for the Information. Fitting a Apache or Dazzler brakes in UG4 is difficult as the tyre profile of Pulsar and these 2 bikes are different are different.Originally posted by vasu.dc View Postyes they are same.Last time i checked with Bajaj Spare parts guy,

like i mentioned... i plan on adding the FZ's rear mag on later.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostIf anyhow you are not going to upgrade to disk brakes then what is the use of P220 swing-arm?
i want to put on a soft compound 150 Michelin.
that's the only reason for the swingarm mod.
the UGIII swingarm won't accommodate it.
yup... the P22O swingarm is a direct fit onto the UG4.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostAlso I would like to ask whether the swing-arm of P220 and P180 UG4 the same? If I want to upgrade to disk brakes then can I do it straightly?
provided you change the rear wheel to a mag that has a disc..

the fairing wasn't designed in a wind tunnel.
and on a 180... it will slow u down marginally.
u prolly wont even realize ur FE being affected.
shouldn't be an issue.
whats the reason for the mod?
visual mod?
better lighting?
lower top speed?

You will have to change the BCU and other electricals also with this mod. As the 220 uses a 55W bulb you will have to rewind the coil too. The pickup will be reduced and you donot want a heavy machine to get further heavier and that too with a mere 14nm torque is like crawling. It will be better if you forget this mod. But, this could be done, I have seen one Pulsar 150 ug3 with such mod which was put up for sale.Originally posted by BORN FREE View PostHey Guys...

I don't know expenses related to 220 faring but if you want better lighting than you can use HID with projector...will definitely give better lighting than stock 220 lighting. I opened headlight assembly today and found literally hundreds of wires going from here and there. it would be pain in a$$, hands, legs, eyes and everything to change that harness.Originally posted by BORN FREE View PostWell top speed Does nt matter...I defntly wnt better lightin bro ... and kinda got bored of Old Wolfd eyed luks..

Today I did a little DIY job. From my last visit to SC bike has been creating vibrating noise near 4K RPM. I thought SC guy must have left some screw loose. So I went ahead and opened total headlight assembly (yeah it took me an hour to figure out how to open it). After opening I found nothing was loose. Anyway my curiosity didn't kill the cat....I tied a thread to back of the headlight focus where a thick black wire comes out of rubber hose pulled it vertically up and tied the other end somewhere. Result ?!! now reflector's lower edge is now touching the plastic of headlight meaning the low beam has come closer becomes bit more concentrated and about 20-30 % more bright. Also the first time in my bike's life the high beam is descending on earth and has become usable atlast.
I'm pretty happy with this little DIY as that beam angle adjust screw wasn't of any use.
Now the other side of the coin: that vibration noise is coming from bottom of locking system

(@abhi : you know from where). I think I'll do something with it in coming servicing.
