Yes!, you can do it and many guys have done it already on their P200's, Ask this question in P200 thread you will get a answer better than mine.

If you are going to fit a Disc brake of Pulsar 220. then, whole swingarm will be changed.

Rear disc can be fit on the UG4.. but its not a direct fit ya..

It'll cost around 8k-10k for the modification..

                  • Does rear disk break make braking more precise n manageable at high speeds than drum brakes? what is the benefit of fitting rear disk brake? (only curiosity)

                    • Hi Guys,

Finally i have registered myself in the era of sports biking. bought new pulsar 180 2009 (UG4) booked on 13th Dec09 & got Delivered on 14th Dec09, i love its appeal of sporty looks, its really a headturner, its clipon handle bar , split seat, sitting posture, gearing pattern (ommission of toe effort) ultimate pickup (heads-off).. etc.... drive me crazy to blow every one behind my beast... but as it is new piece, Thus I often have to control my senses & restrict my self not more than 42 kmph (always between 30-42) this bike has amazing control & grip on road (thanks to more broader tyre), yesterday only i took a cut (bend it like Beckham) & got surprized for its superb control & balance, it gave me more confidence & its really its increasing day by day.. i dont have much expertise over its techi part but can say its ULTIMATE.. as its mine first experience as i have upgraded myslef from HH passion 100 CC to Bajaj Pulsar 180CC so its a really awesome upgrade... & Feel Good exeprience.. will run this beast for a long drive in this weekend (any suggestion or any points to be take care of... ) post which will post another experience (cant say review) which would be straight from heart...

Thanks to guys supported with there valuable suggestions & comments...

well its not that efficient yeah rear discs are anyday better than rear drums..
but there is of locking up of the rear more often as we tend to use the rear brakes more

Drums lock up. Not discs that are properly calibrated to be rear discs. That's the reason they are used.

How many times did you hear about a bike with rear disc brake skidding rear tyre when braked hard? Compare that to the ones on Drums.

                          • I find my Rear Drum Brake not very responsive, totally have to rely on front disc brake, told many times to SVC and always same answer "Sir ye toh itna hi hoga" , also i broke mine clutch cable today only after 3 month of buying, is it of so cheap quality

Dont rev too hard or exceed speed limits as per manual. And try to take frequent breaks.

AFAIK, The rear disc's of P220 are not so much affective(but anytime better than a drum brake).

                                Nice!
During run-in donot give the bike to any of friends as they will try to RIP your bike(human nature).
For a long trip keep varying engine RPM's in every gear. and take frequent break's of 5-10mins in every 30-40kms(if possible).
You didnot mentioned colour of bike and Please do post pictures.

To effectively use rear brakes you will have to use both front+rear brakes at a time and it needs a lot of practice to have a feeling of effective braking from that combination(front+rear).
Regarding clutch cable, its Bajaj anything can happen.
My engine mounting NUT broke down while mechanic at SC was tightening it, and i have to do a round of whole city to find a NUT that resembles the original one.(still it is thin as compared to a original bajaj nut)
