I checked with Khivraj motors (from whom I got the bike) and the guy shrugged off saying 'it seems ok to me'! what a dumbass!
How easy or tough is it to get the headlight adjusted. Is this something I can do myself?

I got the 'misty grey silver' btw. Wonder who named the color even though it looks good and different.

    Thanks

Yep I'm done with my first service..
No major problems though.. Let me put my experience and answers as per your points down here -
            1. My bike was pulling slightly towards the right. No wobbling just just a small pull. So I told them that and the service guy fixed it.
            2. I didn't wait at the workshop. Left my bike at 12:00 P.M. and got it back by 4:30 P.M.
            3. Please please check the engine oil level when you pick it after the service (by keeping your bike on the center stand). My old bike (Glady) got screwed after one of the services as they didn't fillup appropriate amount of engine oil ..
Also, check the headlights, horn, indicator's switching off automatically and stuff like that.
Take her for a small spin before you go back after the service and check the acceleration and braking.
            4. After first service gear change felt smoother and engine felt super smooth too.
            5. Hmm.. I've never asked them to fill the oil in front of me. But 20W50 is a must (please let me know if the specification is incorrect).
The oil spec will be mentioned in the bill make sure its 20W50 if they replace the oil when you are not around.
            6. Leave the bike early for servicing so that you'll get it back early.

Hope this helps. Cheers and Ride safe - GenE

i was looking for this kind of explanation . well thanks i will keep in mind those points..

but, for oil change I always prefer changing the oil in front of me.see, we cannot trust those stubid guys at bajaj or anyother workshop since they doesnot care if our machine become crap..
              am i right

I would share the same thought as you've up there... as my Glady got f*&%6d and I had to spend a bomb on the engine..
But then I wouldn't generalize all of them... I've met quiet a few nice chaps at the service centers...

I guess you can ask them to change the oil when you are there itself..

Please let us know if this can be done? I mean has anyone asked them to replace the engine oil when you are there? and can we buy the engine oil elsewhere and ask the bajaj service guys to replace it during the service?

                • well guys i am posting my personal experience withthe Road Presence of the bike.
i have noticed that whenever i take my black beauty on roads it in very stylish manner like people are attracted towards jackson attracts everyone whether walking people, motorcyclists... i feel very proud when someone on road has bought new bike like FZ16,unicorn new... or any feel that their bike are totally scrap in looks in front of this beauty. i can say that from thier face expressions..
and my few friends also own FZ16,apache rtr 160... but the black beauty is not even challenged by other bikes in terms of looks,no FZ16 that people says is very stylish can compare in terms of looks to this bike.

man i must say that bajaj have rolled out ultimate 180cc hardcore bike having killer looks which just kills emotions of other bike owners....

yes i also own a pulsar 150 classic which i always give to service stations for
servicing i have always asked them for changing oil in front of me and they have not refused a single time.

nor they have the right to refuse to change oil in front of me or...

once when i said them that i am in hurry and want to take the bike in 2hrs
and will appreciate if they allow me to see bikes servicing being done in front of me, they said that they cannot allow me to do that, its not in their rulez category..
i was red hot by that time and i totally bursted my all anger and aggression on them all the service guys and manager then came and finally setteled to do it in front of me..

                          • problem on my 180 UG-III

                            I have a small query....
My P180UG-III has done 18000km now. For the past 10000km i have been getting this knocking sound from the engine.. dunnno how to describe it... its like a fast repetition of this (katak katak) sound. How about the sound of nuts being ground in a grinder.. like that
I notice this knocking in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears esp in the 4000 to 4500rpm.
I am using a good synthetic engine oil for the past 8000km( not the same one-changed it twice)..
Could the experienced gurus out there explain what exactly this knocking is and how it can be rectified ( if possible).
