Must be a bad fuel then, a bad fuel or an adulterated one can bring some serious engine knocking!! Try draining the fuel completely and fill it from some other trust-worthy pump, Might be that can work!!Originally posted by Coplay@180 View Post

Stuck at 101kmph
A problem I have been facing since a long time:
I have a AUG 08 P180UG3. Done 4950kms so far. For the last few weeks I've noticed no matter how well I shift gears and how hard I accelerate, the bike just refuses to cross 101km/h. Aas if someone has put a top speed limiter
.
I have checked the chain slack.its fine, I've installed brand new spark plugs BOSCH UR3DC - Both of them. Still the same problem. The engine oil is Castrol Power 1 and is just 250km old 3 weeks old. I used to easily touch 116km/h which is the max I've touched upto now.
What could be the issue?

Any other advice???Originally posted by Coplay@180 View PostI have a small query....
My P180UG-III has done 18000km now. For the past 10000km i have been getting this knocking sound from the engine.. dunnno how to describe it... its like a fast repetition of this (katak katak) sound. How about the sound of nuts being ground in a grinder.. like that
I notice this knocking in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears esp in the 4000 to 4500rpm.
I am using a good synthetic engine oil for the past 8000km( not the same one-changed it twice)..
Could the experienced gurus out there explain what exactly this knocking is and how it can be rectified ( if possible).
I think the fuel is also a problem... have noticed that with Shell petrol the problem is less.Never Argue with an Idiot !!!

dont worry about that.. when ur bike is off, the RPM meter will be in zero.
When ur bike is on, say in neutral the RPM meter will be in between 1 and 2k.This is called the IDLING rpm. If it is somewhere near 2k, it should be reduced to around 1.3k. Thats ideal.Never Argue with an Idiot !!!

it is a problem with my pulsar. for new bike uneven RPM is fine after first service it will get ok.. if you have done 1st service then go back and set it to idle

Buddy am sure u must have clocked some more than 35k kms cause i had this same problem with dads pulsar 150 it had crossed 49k kms and that kat-kat sound started. showed it to the good mechanic and he just told me to take a day off for that cause the piston had worn off and have to be replacedOriginally posted by Coplay@180 View PostAny other advice???
