Mav,you will be going to the the showroom todat right..Do post what all happened from there..I will b going on monday
Which is the best place to keep Rc book and other
documents in bike?I still remember,my bro used to keep them
under the seat.Yesterday i struggled a lot to remove
the seats. But i was surprised to see engines and all under
it and there's no place to keep the documents..
Ma friend said remove the LH cover and place the documents there.
Is it safe?i mean, will water, mud and all enter inside the lh coveR?Last edited by shaheen; 08-01-2009, 02:46 PM.

Hi there. theres a lot of space under the rear seat to keep photocopies of RC, insurance and emission certi... How much of a space do you need for 3 sheets of paper???Originally posted by shaheen View PostMav,you will be going to the the showroom todat right..Do post what all happened from there..I will b going on monday

I keep all these inside the tool-kit and hook the kit under the seat with the elastic bands provided... and the first aid-kit can be placed in the space near the right side..
If you think water/mud/anything else may rot these papers get a thin polycover and keep there docs in it and then the whole thing under the rear seat inside the tool kit..
Opening the left side panel and then pulling the hook and just lifting the rear seat up is not difficult at all.. AFAIK the manual has steps oulined.. Else when you visit the SVC next time ask the guys there to show you how to open up and fit the rear seat back.. Trust me its very very easy than other bikes (read passion, unicorn and karizma.. all personal opinion)Last edited by thegeneboy; 08-01-2009, 05:14 PM.

Hi Shaheen
Its not safe for keeping your documents under LH cover as docs can slip and get wet in rains. I keep it under rear seat and theres no problem in keeping them there and its very easy to remove and put back rear seat.
Regarding insurance claim i went to SC today at around 11am. theres a guy who deals with all insurance claim. HE asked for xerox of DL, RC, BILL, and insurance policy also said that claim amount will be received after 30-40 days u have to pay on your own for now and claim will be 50% for plastic, 95% for metal and 50% labour. Then he asked for what all things u want to claim. I told him for front wind shield, headlights, leg guard, Brake lever front and rear both and metal plate above silencer. Then gave me a form for claiming insurance and gave me estimate of arnd 3k. Form has a column where u have to write the story how accident happened. Then I called Insurance company they said they are sending a surveyor. After this I left bike there and came back home. I called the guy at 6pm he said that surveyor has checked your vehicle and has passed all things which were claimed with some damage increased from their side too to get it passed as only scratches can't be passed. Bike will be repaired tomm and will get it by afternoon. Hope it looks as it was before.Last edited by mav239; 08-01-2009, 11:01 PM.

don't worry the surveyor and bajaj claim insurance guy will take care of this..they will increase the damage to get it passed....I tell you 1 more incident when i reached there a surveyor was there inspecting a Discover.. problem was a small dent on tank.. Surveyor asked to increase the damage... claim insurance guy called one mechanic who made three holes in tank with screw driver and hammer then surveyor took photograph and passed the claim.Last edited by mav239; 08-01-2009, 11:29 PM.

Don't keep Original Documents anywhere on the bike.. part from the possibility of losing the original documents in case the bike is stolen, there is also a real possibility of mutilating or damaging the documents with time if kept on the bike.Originally posted by shaheen View PostI was just asking whether it's safe to place the documents behind the LH cover or not
Don't do it.

You can get the scratches on the black fibre fairing fixed for as cheap as 300 bucks from local car/bike paint shops. The same thing had happened to me too. Although the scratches on the headlight lens cannot be fixed.Originally posted by shaheen View PostLol...Dont know what's gonna happen with my bike..Hope the surveyor can help me

Apparently the paint guy fills in the scratches with a paste called Car Patch. it is a light green colored paste. He then allows it to dry and then smoothens it with emery paper and then the surface is painted once again. yours is black. It may be even cheaper.
