    • Help Needed

I am facing some problems with my pulsar 180 DTSI UG3 which has done 28000 kms on odo. Please provide your inputs regarding the following.

      1) Off late my bike has been consuming too much e-oil.
Last refill was Motul (rs 850 wala), it got exhausted within 6 K,also the oil level is getting low every 2-3 K apart from oil getting thin.Intresting thing is that there has been no change in
      milege.
is this the piston ring problem???

      2) While riding steadily between 45 - 55 kmph sometimes the front starts woobling too much however post 60kmph things become butter smooth.
The mechanics say its normal with pulsars but I never faced this issue till 25000 kms.

1)Pulsar's have a habit of eating small amounts of oil and as your bike has seen 28K kms so it might be eating a little amount of oil.
BTW if you use an oil for 6000kms the level will get reduced. Instad change oil at every 2000kms(if using mineral oil).No problem untill the oil consumption is in small amounts.
2)Tyre wobbling may be due to Improper sitting of tyre walls. Did it happened after a puncture. or It maybe a faulty Wheel bearing.
Have you changed the front fork

Get the tyre totally flated(In hindi"puri air nikaal doo"), Then again fill the air and watch closely if the bead's(it is the part of tyre by which tyre is fitted on the rim) that are sticked to the RIM are in same patern.
or just went to a puncture walla and say him that "Aage ka tyre out hai"
            and rest he will do.

Always maintain air pressure 30-32 PSI in the rear tyre and 28-30PSI in front tyre. as improper air pressure also leads to tyre wobbling.

              ZMA, P200's and 220's use 520 pitch.

I may be wrong as i only used a general scale not a vernier calliper's.

                just one question:
I have heard that none of the pulsars have 520 o-ring chain. Is it true?

Yes, this seems like a piston ring issue. Do two things, check if the spark plug seems wet and oily. Secondly, check whether she smokes...If the answer to anyone of these is yes, then it is a piston ring issue.

You can fit every fissible item on your bike, But the problem is with realibility.
As the tank of all pulsars are same: I guess the MOD is 100% possible with heavy money drain from pocket.

Hey pulsarized.. yes you can get the fairing and the headlight assemble fixed on your bike..

Of what I know the Head light unit (assembly) alone costs aroud 3450/-
The fairing would be around 1800/- to 2000/-(No sure)

Now there's a frame like thing (or a support) on the front frame of the bike which supports the entire setup on the 220... You'll need to get that welded on to your bike and this can be done...

But yes vibrations will be there as its fiber and mounted only on a small frame...

Entire thing would cost you around 6000 INR...

Just wanted to know why would you like to do this???

Two options from my end (If I'm not wrong you own the 180 UG IV right?)

                          1. Get only the headlight assembly.. It can fit into the existing dome. (welding still needs to be done)

                          or

                          2. Assuming you love the looks of the 220 and Since you bike is new get it exchanged at the bajaj center + pay around 12k more (my guess) to get a new 220 itself... (faring, rear disk, more CC, more power, ... than your 180)
