u have to use either valvoline premium 4t 20w50 or motul 5100 TOriginally posted by arjunb25 View Postso that means what the company is going to put valvoline premium 4t 20w50 i have to put that only i cannot put castrol at all u r trying to say here.Regarding engine oil in your bike.. as Ceasar mentioned your bike will come with oil from the company itself..Originally posted by ceasar View Postwhat ? bajaj is not going to pour any oil into ur bike...
once u buy,the bike is filled with an oil(dunno which oil they fill) at the factory itself..and u have to change it within 1 month
company doen't recommend any brand ,once u get ur bike check its manual, all they recommend is the GRADE of the oil along with particular certification
for p180-recommended grade is 20w50 JASO MA ratings ...(grade refers to viscocity index of the oil)
its usr choice whether to use castrol, valvoline, motul etc etc..
as far as i know castrol doen't have a good 20w50 oil..Castrol activ Xtra is 20w50 but it has got a very bad reputation
another MOTUL has got 10w50 FULLY SYNTHETIC 300VFL oil..which is not recommended for a new bike until it crosses 6000-7000 km
so the only choice left is either valvoline or motul..i dunno much about ELF bcoz i didnt come across any one who r using this on pulsars
i know about valvoline..its a great oil to have 300 per litre
and regarding motul 5100 iam awaiting response from fellow member abhi
You'll (read Service Center Guys) need to change them during service.
Don't use semi-synthetic or fully-synthetic till you cross 6k km.
Use whatever the svc guys pour till the 3rd service. I know its not all that great but just let it be and use it..
I personally changed to Valvoline on 4th service. Its a superb oil when compared to Castrol what was used before (I've not used any other engine oil)

Sorry for your bike.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostSorry guyz I have been away with exam
firstly :
I serviced my bike (first) 20 days ago...
1. Gear shifting is been smoother after pouring motul at SC.
2. Overall noise has been increased because (I think) excessive oiling to chain or loosen of chain (help me here)....I mean when u ride with engine off, rattling noise of chain is audible..I think it was silent before.
.
3. Focusing of headlight is not proper...they said they were going deal it afterwords...n I was going to fix it later but I couldn't.
Secondly :
day after yesterday I was doing sane riding nearby my house...I was taking last turn to my house..on that blind turning spot a small mental kid came out of nowhere, I was doing 20-30 n metal parts of my bike touched the earth...m unhurt with just few brushing, helmet didn't touch the ground...its just the bike m worried about...actually it didn't skid a bit but urgent braking on 90 degree turn did something which I dont remember..
1.left leg guard is bent
2.visor got some brushing
3.left leg peg is bent
4.little brushing on clutch lever n left end cap of handle
5.n m reaching to 57 at 4k which(bfore it was 54 to 4k)...I think thats bcuse of the techometer neddle is not pointing correctly, it points bfore 0k when engine is off.
6.when bike fell there was something dark liquid fell from the bike..I dont know wat it cud be? maybe some water remained inside metal part at washing or engine oil (Is it possible?)

plz help me guyz,
can I claim insurance for parts mentioned above?
Yes you can claim insurance for the parts mentioned above, My bike also faced similar accident in which Headlight got scratches, Visor badly scratched, Leg guard bent, silencer scraped,..
I didnot claimed insurance because the repairs were costing some 1000rs and out of it i will get only 400rs from insurance company.
Initially nights were sleepless thinking about bike's scratches, but as time passed away i have now learned to live with those scratches and have accepted it as part of my bike.
Motul is better than any other oil i have used till now.Originally posted by ceasar View Postdude..plz post ur experience with motul 5100T..iam in a confusion.
AFAIK u were using valvoline premium insn't it?
I used Valvoline that was provided by SC once but soon changed to petronas then to motul then to Petronas and at last again to Motul 15w50.
In short "There is nothing better than Motul for me"
Yes, you can fix that silencer from P200. No problems for engine, go ahead.Originally posted by kalsi View PostHi Guys. I am planning to fix P200 silencer on my 180 UG3. Will this cause any problems to the engine or anything related to performance?
Go for insurance if you feel worth it.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Postno help haaa?

is it the one with the digi speedo if yes than i gues you can but you will have to change the swing arm and do some mods plus the whole disk assembly from the 220 and also a new rear alloy wheel. This is my personal view though i might be wrong.... but yes if done neatly you can !!!

Yes I know but its our duty to ask what they've put and make sure its the right stuff na?Originally posted by ceasar View Postthey use crappy oil bro, some times they dont even tell which oil they are using, you cant trust those guyz...

I make the SVC guys pour oil when I'm around... Just 5min work and you can be at peace.

What we can do is buy our own oil and ask the guys to pour it when you are around....
Of what I've read and inquired its adviced to use mineral oil till atleast 6000km....
Like Lockhrt mentioned use motul if you find it good.. but mineral oil..
After 6000 km we can go for semi or fully synthetic oil...
Just my 2 paise..

wow wow chill chill yaar.. please don't take it personally.. I meant no harm..Originally posted by ceasar View Postwhat do u think,u ask,and he'll tell everything...maybe ur SC guyz are honest, but that doesn't mean very SC meach is honest, atleast, not in my place..and the oil is pumped from an electronic machine displaying figures, god knows what kind of oil they have in it...u ask them..they'll say Motul..how can u check whether its motul or not?
I totally understand what you are saying.. I guess the best way is to pour the oil ourselves or buy a can and ask those guys to fill up your engine right in front of you..
Even worse shit happened to me.. my old bike came without oil
after service... can you beat that?? I had to spend a lot to fix my baby..
So only I said we need to double check everything the SVC guys do..
If that cannot be done then find some other way out.. I did not direct anything to you personally.. Just penned down my thoughts..
Sorry if I caused any inconvinence...
