  • I have made a post in the forum long ago saying that i have some problems with the bike suspension. Still the problem has not been resolved. I took my bike to bajaj service center and to few other mechanics. Everyone says that there s absolutely no problem with the bike. But i am getting back pain even if i ride my bike for 15 mins. So i am now thinking whether there s some problem with the tires? coz even in flat road i feel like riding a horse.

So how can i proceed with the issue. I cannot live with it because daily i am riding my bike for 30 KMS. So experienced people please give suggestions !

Initially i was struck between Dazzler and Pulsar. Should i regret going for Pulsar ... ??

Have you checked whether your tyres are running on right AIR. keep 25 front and 30-32 rear. Also, try and set the suspension settings to soft.

      • My Tire pressure is 28 in front and 32 in back. Is that the advised one?

Yes that's right pressure. But, do you fill by a digital AIR guage that are available at most petrol bunks or the regular roadside AIR wala? The roadside shops always fill 5-6psi more air than required.

Try soft rear shock absorber settings. or post the pictures of your bike's rear suspension settings.... and whole bike.

            • guyz my bro owns a 180,yesterday he went to bajaj sc for regular servicing, the sc screwed something and now the RPM doesn't go past 6k ,it struggles a lot,it gives a feeling like therz no throttle left.
i think they have tuned it too lean, whats your take on this?

keep both tyres to 26. Trust me keeping rear tyre at 26 will give you better softness in ride and different parts of the bike would remain together for a long time. But tyre will worn out 500 km early but hell it's better to keep pressure at low because it gives excellent grip which saves life in grave accidents.
These are tubeless tyres we are talking about !!! I fill in air once in 50 days. I have even ran at 17 without any problem that too with pillion.
Secondly fill the air only on digital new age instruments. Those road side are often out of calibration.
Thirdly keep about 2 inches of gap between your buttocks and rear seat that way you should have most lumbar friendly posture.
Fourthly pulsar's suspension changes over time. I can make out the difference in suspension of new pulsar and my one year old pulsar. Abhi says suspensions become more spongy but I noticed otherwise.
Fifthly if nothing works than you can buy lumbar or spine support of riders.

Unicorn's single spring suspension is one of the most stiff found in Indian bikes. Unicorn might has better commuter stance but it's utterly spine breaker like RTR. It won't be bragging to say that pulsar has one of the most soft suspension in India (RE is different breed altogether) and when it comes to suspension I see many keep pulsar as their benchmark leader while writing reviews of other bikes.

Please let me know your thoughts on this.

                      What bike do you own?
In such scenario you could push start the bike.

                          1. My bike is due for second service. But my gearbox is BAD. i cant shift to neutral any time. Only when i turn off the bike ignition i can shift to neutral. Also the gear box has become very rough. how can i tackle this.>?

                          2. My chain is very noisy. how can i lubricate it and with what should i lubricate it ?

                          please suggest

i can't make out anything from the pics,it seems like thers a crack?/
we can't deal with your problem online ,one can tell whether or not there's a prob only by riding your bike and if he has a 180 in good condition to spot out the differences. If any of your friends has 180 take a test ride and feel the suspension.

1.its a hereditary problem with pulsars,a good ss or fs engine oil should solve the problem, since your bike is new i won't recommend you to go for it,stick with mineral oil at least till 3000km.
2.there are specific oils for lubricating the chains, others members might help in this regard .

                            • Hey when did you guys go for the second service? I was under the impression it was at 2K kms (as mentioned on the envelope given by the dealer, but thats applicable to lower cc bikes, I guess). The 180's manual says 4500-5000kms.

I really have to get my chain adjusted since it makes a clacking noise when decelerating.

About the oil for lubricating the chain thing above, I want to add that I'm using the Bajaj advised 90 grade oil. It is generally known as gear oil. I got the 1l can of mobilube 80-90W gear oil. Was a bit on the expensive side (Rs 180) but does the job well.

where will the new bombay bike owners get their bikes serviced at?

and what about original spares in new bombay???

you can get the chain tightened at a local mechanic... won't void your warranty.
