Originally posted by rv.nikhil View Posti got my bike serviced at autoservice only... all my free services were done by them only..... but am not really happy with the outcome.... from one service to the next, my bikes smoothness has reduced.. gears are also sometimes hard, need to put some force to change them, unlike before. and also i find the headlight output inadequate when on the highways.. had tried a hid kit for a few trips, but the battery was getting strained and the fuse kept blowing out at regular intervals, so got the stock bulb fitted back.
any suggestions to increase the headlight power??
thanks a ton for all the replies ppl....!!!!
love the spirit of this site

Dont go to autoservice
.....for servicing your bike....better try popular sc @ uttarahalli
....they do the best service.....intially i also used to go to autoservice, now changed to popular sc@uttarahalli........
I have pulsar 180 ug3 2008@44k kms
.............still the engine and gear box are soft like butter
.........service interval every 6000 kms.....oil change every 2000 kms with castrol power-1..............

Got a plug spanner of 16 size
and removed the plug,it had black and light choco color so perfectly tuned, i was about to rejoice that the engine was self-tuned perfectly this happened:
inserted the plug into the hole and starting rotating it clockwise,no matter how much i turn, it was not reaching its full point, and at a point it seemed fairly tight,i wanted to rotate another turn just for the sake of it ...my bad.... then the plug suddenly got loose and fell on the ground... i was like :O ..... the cylinder part on which there is threading broke and stuck inside the hole and the remaining part fell off.....
immediately took it to a nearby mech( not SC) he examined and after a lot of struggle he was able took that part of the hole,if otherwise he told me that he had to remove the head of the engine, get the threading part burnt by welding :O
thank god it was out....-------------------------------

Oh... Oh.. Oh.... Lucky to get away so cheaply. Otherwise, you would have had a bunch of bad time. Generally, the plug should only be tightened till it reaches its THRESHOLD of tightening. First time mistake is likely to happen, be careful in future.Originally posted by ceasar View PostGot a plug spanner of 16 size

That's right Castrol Active Extra.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostWhich Castrol did you used?? Activ Extra? also my bike's engine head too is leaking, how did they fix it?

The mech removed the tank and engine head(only the upper part above the rubber) applied a paste named some "bond" not anabond some "bond" can't remember exactly (but it is recommended one) on top of the walls of the engine. The past has overflowed outside the engine and it is kinda looking awkward...seems like engine is brushing its teeth ,but it has done the job very well, leaking has stopped now. Its a 45 min job.
