Worried about one cat ? I've sacrificed this seat cover to these guys , to keep them out of the newer bikes .. yet they got to the new splendor+ seat to sleep inside the garage this winter. Darn guys have claws like razorblade !

        Fuel capacity for TVS Wego

Please could someone tell me the fuel capacity for TVS WEGO. My understanding is as below. The manual is quite ambiguous about the fuel capacity.

        1. The fuel capacity of the WEGO is 5.5 liters(including reserve).

        2. Reserve alone occupier 1.5 liters.

        Are the above correct?

BTW, another off-topic question - what's the average mileage that people are getting on their WEGO's?

        Cheers

          Hi,

I own Wego since last 1 year, done 8400 Kms, even took for a long ride (Mumbai lavasa Mumbai) rode non-stop 48kms on 80kmph speed (does not go beyond 80). Average fuel efficiency i get is around 50 to 54kmpl.
This is a real good scooty, i will definitely recommend it. Thou only 1 problem it does needs choke during cold days first start if u wanna self start.

            hi,
Even i am not sure abt the 5.5 tank. Never i could refill tank for more then 4 liters. there is no way to know when the bike is in reserve.
My normal mileage in city is around 48 to 51 kmpl. 70% single seat and within 45 kms speed (economy range). Total odo is now 8400 kms.

              My TVS WEGO

I am happy to finally be an xbhpian.

I took the delivery of TVS Wego on Tuesday - 10th April 2012. The decision to buy wego was mainly immediate availability. I bought this scooter for my wife though I will also use it some times. I wanted the scooter immediately as my wife has to commute to her new clinic everyday.

Decision:Like many people I too was confused between Honda Activa/ DIo and TVS wego. So I first went to Triton TVS at Hebbal, Bangalore. The staff there were courteous and eager to help . Asked for a test drive of wego and Immediately they offered a black wego. First my wife rode it and she had a smile on her face. Then me my wife and my son took a test drive and I was pretty impressed with the power and handling of the scooter. Took the quotation Rs 56150 on road + Rs 2080 for accessories. when asked about availability the sales lady told if it was cash payment it was next day!!! and if cheque then it would be 2 days. Then I went to Dhruvesh Honda, mekhri circle Bangalore. Staff there were not bothered to even greet us. After running from one counter to other finally a guy made us sit and just started to give quotation, when asked about waiting period he said 60 - 90 days!!! Then I asked about test drive he said only activa was available for TD. When we went near the activa for TD the guy asked for my wife's driving licence, sadly she had left it at home! the guy refused her the test drive. finally I showed my DL and only I was allowed the TD that to with the sales guy riding pillion with me!!! Very contrasting to TVS people!!! The whole experience with the Honda dealership was not a surprise, I have read about Honda dealer's pathetic attitude in many blogs and owner reviews. My wife was very disappointed with Honda ppl.

Before this whole TD experience, my wife had taken a few Honda owners opinion about the scooters and all of them had given good reviews. Before the test drive experience she was ready to travel in bus for 60 - 90 days and wanted only Honda, she tried wego only on my insistence,But after seeing their attitude she decided she would go for Wego. She also felt wego easy to handle (Body balance tech) and to put center stand. She liked Cappucino Brown.

Dealership Experience: On 9th April I went to Triton TVS and booked Brown wego and paid full cash as I wanted delivery on 10th April. The whole experience was pleasant. As promised my wego was delivered on 10th April with odometer reading of 12 kms. I took her to shell petrol pump and filler her to the brim.

Ownership experience: Till today wego has covered 92 kms in 4 days. Till yesterday there was no problem, but yesterday I noticed that after 30 kmph till 50 kmph there was something holding the engine back. It was like the engine wanted to rev but it was starved of something. I read the previous post of a similar problem with some one else's wego. Today morning I saw some oil leaking from the engine. Took her to the Triton service, they were courteous and attended to the problem immediately and changed the oil seal and also rectified the problem of engine pulling.

Near my wife's clinic the neighbour shop guy also got a wego which has done 400 kms, He too had similar problem but some other TVS service guys took 2 days each time twice to rectify the problem of oill leak. Now his wego is ok. I hope the problem with our wego has been sorted out. The scooter is very easy to drive in traffic with pillion rider, it dose not wobble at all.

Verdict: More or less I am happy with wego except with this oil leak problem. The engine starts with 3rd kick every morning with out choke.. haven't checked the mileage yet, will do it when I fill her up to the brim next time.

              Like:
              1. Smooth and silent engine
              2. Handling (Body balance)
              3. Powerful Headlight
              4. Dealership and service center attitude
              5. Ease of putting center stand - even my wife can put

              Dont like:

              1. Front cabinet space
              2. Under seat space

I will definitely write about the mileage and long term ownership experience after I have done more kms in our wego.

Hell!! I didn't even bother seeing if there was a wego thread on this site....Understandable as My Hyosung ST7 is just a few days from Delivery !!!
Bought this baby home(wego) on last dasserra.Essentially for my wife, but I ended up using it more than her. Have already done 1100 kms on her. She is an absolute pleasure to ride. Hasn't given me any problems whatsoever....Anyone wishing to but a scooty, please go ahead and blindly buy this beauty. I bought the brown one. OTR around 54000 and another 1000 for the accessories...Cash down one day before dassera and they deliverd it to my house the next day morning.
She has been giving me around 40 kmpl without any problems..

                  Wego oil leaking again

Just 2 days back I had reported about oil oil leak from the engine which was rectified. Today (16th April) again oil is leaking from the engine. My neighbor too faced same problem twice exactly like me! This is pathetic quality from TVS. I am getting more frustrated. I took the scooter to service guys, they have asked me to get the vehicle tomorrow and have promised to do a thorough job. Hope this problem gets solved, i am fed up of going to the service center everyday leaving all my work. TVS listen, you better improve the quality if you want to compete with Honda. looks like TVS is surviving in scooter business only because Honda has waiting list!

Will report back as to what happens tomorrow...

That's surprising. I have not faced this problem on the WEGO. Could you please post some pictures on from where the oil is leaking?

The leak is from the engine case (silver colour case with the round thing on which its written "TVS") I havent clicked any pics before giving it for repair. Will definitely post pics if the problem persists.

Will be purchasing a Wego next week.On road price here is 55,400(cochin). Rs.1500 extra for that tube like bumper around the scooter,my mom will be using it so just to hold from minor scratches in case it hits somewhere! I'm curious to know what that Body balance really do! I didn't take a test ride as I trust TVS. i have ridden Activa and Dio, people say that Wego is more flickable in traffic due to that body balance. Is that true?

Wego is a very good scooter for ladies. So, don't worry. It has big wheels and can easily ride over the bad roads. Putting on the center stand is a piece of cake.

For ladies I would certainly recommend Wego over Activa or Aviator. Wego is a good bike, so go ahead with your decision.

Problems in a 15 month old Wego

I'm slowly getting fed up with the number of irritants cropping up in my Wego.

I was facing a tranmission oil leakage issue a few months back in my Wego, which was finally resolved by "replacing the oil seal". Even then, it took 3 visits to the service centre to finally get it resolved. However, over the past few days I've observed that this issue has surfaced again, though not to the extent it was earlier.

Apart from that, the battery has been replaced under warranty, and speedometer cable and headlight switch has been changed at cost. All this in just 15 months since date of purchase! I knew that TVS quality wasn't as good as Hero or Honda, but this is ridiculous.

I've seriously started regretting buying a TVS product, and will definitely not buy another one again, nor will I recommend one to anybody.

                                Cheers,
                                Vikram
