The new hunk with new colours, digital speedo, tubeless & rear disk brakes at 65k OTR seems like a sweet spot for everyone. It is really a very good deal. If just they added the clip-ons, I think it would be the best buy for 150cc class(sparring the R15)With Great Power, comes Great Responsibilities .....

in terms of smoothness I go with pulsar ... my 220 is very smooth than my zmr ... but after 1-2 yrs 220 will become a trash and zmr will be same I mean to say if you go with HH u go for long life and maintainess free biking .. but with pulsar u rage the bike till it is new and after that in every 1-2 days u will visit the srv
and dude their are many technique of pick ups... as far I know my frnd have a hunk and another one the pulsar 150 .. and mostly they race and till end it never clear who will win ....http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/members/...220-frnds.html

Motul 300V 10W 40 is one awesome oil---completed 5500KMS on this 300V and when i drained it was very good(it even had a slight greenish color after all this kms)---the only reason i drained it was i was conned into changing my clutch plate
.
As i could not find 300V in my place i changed to GULF 10W 30 completed 2000kms on it and drained it yesterday---i like this gulf very much its just like motul 300V at one fourth of the price(mini motul
).

Have you tried Shell Advanced 10w40 Fully Synthetic.
My Xtreme is currently running on it since 1500kms...I found it little better than the Motul 300v. Bike is almost silent at speeds of 60-80kmph...
Mileage has came down by 2kmpl like that though. This happened with 300v too.
And true about Gulf 10w30, its like Mini Motul with just a t Rs 175/-. Complete VFM.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15

I doubt that oil is the real synthetic like 300V and no man i did not try it cause i stay away from shell at all cost
that company hires paramilitaries to knock out people..... sorry for going OT
.
Really ? mileage decreasesOriginally posted by riazmomin View PostMy Xtreme is currently running on it since 1500kms...I found it little better than the Motul 300v. Bike is almost silent at speeds of 60-80kmph...

i never checked my mileage on 300V..i will check that next time i go for 300V.Motul excels in heat management ...so how does this oil compare to the mighty motul ?
the new bottle now come with bold letters saying "fuel saving formula" and i got it for Rs 190 the guy said new batches are Rs 210 .Originally posted by riazmomin View PostAnd true about Gulf 10w30, its like Mini Motul with just a t Rs 175/-. Complete VFM.

Just went through the data sheet the shell oil...its "castrol synthetic" not a real synthetic like 300V and what a royal rip off at Rs 750Originally posted by madhav krishna View PostIts range starts from 200 for mineral oil. You can get a shell VSX (semi synth) for <300. The shell advance ultra (full synth) is its costliest oil & costs 750.
.
here is the data sheet :

Yeah read about this here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/504915-post2835.html & in a few posts in the engine oil thread. Its really a ROYAL RIP OFF.Originally posted by sarbanoxley View PostJust went through the data sheet the shell oil...its "castrol synthetic" not a real synthetic like 300V and what a royal rip off at Rs 750

. I was confused whether to refer oil as synthetic or semisynthetic so i had refered them as what the company refers. As of now only motul makes full synthetic oils in india. But its price is too high (900+). Do you have such datasheet for agip oils?? I am using it & its price is very low (620).
NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

The semi synthetic one is also good retails for about 290 bucks. I have been using this oil since last one year and 25000 kms. A very good oil.. However, when i used motul, the bike behaved slugishly..Originally posted by kaka View PostHi guys,

28000 kms ownership report
My bike has been with me for the past two and a half years. We have been sharing a very good relationship and the ride so far has been very satisfying. She has never complained anytime being it a 400 km or a 600 km ride.I had a very bad accident before 6 months and still she is serving me happily. To be honest i've started loving my bike more deeply than before.
Now for the expenses
parts changed:
1.tank-1(damage caused when transported by volvo)
2.razor balls-2(once at 12k kms after a major accident,at 26k kms)
3.regular oil change every 1800 kms (HH oil)
4.rear tire tube-1(after a nail punctured my tire)
5.front disc pads-2(at 14k kms,25k kms)
6.rear brake pad-1(at 20k kms)
7.tail light bulb-2(gets fused for no reason)
8.gasket seal-1(after a rip ride for 400 kms)
I ripped the bike very badly for the first 10k kms and still it's in good shape.Recently did a munnar trip and the bike served very weel despite being overloaded.
mileage-37(redlining in each gear)
55(perfect riding)
average it gives 48 kmpl.
Modifications:
1.HID and im facing serious battery issues. It will be sorted by this december.Mostly thinking of going for a custom regulator.
2.chain tensioner for some poser value
3.some small stickers
grievances against bike:
some vibrations in handlebar and foot pegs after the accident.
lack of digital speedo.
battery and air filter panels breaking at joints.
Lack of spare parts beeing it hunk or extreme.Ready spares are available for splendors and passions.I had to ride 100 kms for a crashbar which is the same for extreme and hunk.
Best about the bike:
1.so far has been very reliable and no engine works done so far.
2.best handling
3.superb comfort and riding position.
4.front half of the bike looks awesome.Last edited by jeyessh; 10-24-2010, 02:46 PM.
