But it is your decision, and you took the correct one....One of the greatest problem with drum brake is if water goes inside ,like going through knee deep water, continuous rain, water wash etc., the brake will no longer have braking ability, whereas in disc it does not happen to that extent and you will be able to stop.Originally posted by Kalli12 View PostThanks bro u helped me alot and gave me confidence of buying double disc
thanks bro thanks alot
Enjoy your bike...the disc brake holds sharply so learn to use it gradually.

Best of luck and good wishes always.

Clip ons look just OK. Not great. Otherwise great design advancements made.
And also pickup might be decreased by a margin for Same Engine tuning and Overweight.

I feel that the disc brakes in hunk are quite good. ya the initial bite in the front is little low but the rear is very good. this lacking is due to progressive type. if if the front bite is more and sudden then it will be trouble. i did stop from 95 to zero in very very less distance and time with both the brakes pressed than my drum version of hunk earlier I had.
belive me, I had driven p220, but didn't felt confident. please don't take it otherwise (pulsar owners my opinion only). RTR 180, R15 and hunk are best in their Rear disc department

U said pulsar-220 disks are not effective...
..do u own a P-220.......have u really rode a P-220 or simply writing statements like that.......

i have rode...and support this fact that bajaj bikes doesnt have properly distributed weight across the chassis....which in turn makes the bike really unstable when forced to halt at high speed...Originally posted by Vincycool View Post

my self i have been victim to a crash on p150 ug2 (of a friend of mine) ...m a very safe rider....that day a small gal playing besides the road came running for the ball...and to avoid her being rammed by the leg guard....i applied the brakes as i do (to save myself from rechless truck drivers at highway)....but to my surprise the bike just slipped of beneath me....she was safe...but i got bad bruises on hand as well as leg...(nothing on face...i alws wear helmet
) well its part of the play...anyone can get hurt...but the bottom line is what i said in first line...
DIY : identify a less traffic road....plane and dry....zoom upto 70kmph and apply both brakes so as to avoid a collision with...say...as in my case.... do this with p220 as well as karizma.... now see the tyre mark of both.....u can easily identify the rear wheel of p220 going out of the line....
well... @ all - ride safe and wear helmet

hii,
I had p 180 ug4 sold it within 2 months/800 Kms and in college ya I used to ride p 220 a lot with the bybre brakes. and its my opinion that I didn't feel confident about that bike. that bike's balance is not at all good compared to yamaha or honda or hero honda. I don wanna start brand war here but I believe in me and my eyes. I have faced and seen accident in pulsar but the FZ also in the same situation as that of pulsar didn't skid. the center of gravity is well maintained in those bikes. sorry to say but i didn't like pulsar even tough its eye catchingDon't research too much while purchasing, else you will commit blunder

hii kali,
congrats for your new bike. Ya double disc of both new xtreme and hunk are just awesome. tell me how did you feel about the grs suspension. 60 Kms of travel.. did you get tired.
need the mileage report? carry on & follow the run-in properly. change the oil at 150 kms first, then 500 Kms. and then normal drain period. but first nad second should be changed earlier.
Regarding fisrt service.. " PLEASE DO NOT SAY THAT YOU NEED TO INCREASE MILEAGE" the moment you say they will tune yourcarb and bammmm
gone your settings. after than either lean or rich. will take a lot of time to clear the problem. in my seciond service I had to open carb and clean it and retune it properly. now the vibes had come down a lot and think its good now. so please do no let anyone touch the carb.
else enjoy it... very good choice and really love these bikes for their stabilty.Don't research too much while purchasing, else you will commit blunder
