Ok, I heard these special plugs last about 30K odd kms.as opposed to the 10/12K on stock ones. Lets see how it goes!Originally posted by cbf150m View Postcold starting has improved but more importantly there is a noticeable decrease in plug fouling compared to the stock plug. comparing both for 4000km of usage.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Are you sure stock plugs last only till 10/12K, There are people who crossed 30K kms with the stock plugs.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostOk, I heard these special plugs last about 30K odd kms.as opposed to the 10/12K on stock ones. Lets see how it goes!

People run on the stock plug for over 50K also. But the point is the efficiency of the spark. If you check closely the spark plug of bikes that have run 10-12K there would be a slight taper/gradient in the electrode. This degrades the plug performance. But it runs. Hope you got what I mean to say... in short, certain things need a change before we actually feel the difference.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostAre you sure stock plugs last only till 10/12K, There are people who crossed 30K kms with the stock plugs.
A spark plug gap should never be adjusted. Especially on an unevenly worn electrode. So far I haven't seen an evenly worn out electrode. With the Platinum and Iridium plugs you don't even need to clean them.

Yeah, I agree with the optimal functional part, But I was talking about the LASTING thing of the plug.Originally posted by HydBiker View PostPeople run on the stock plug for over 50K also. Lol yeah, why wait till it gets fouled? Even the manual states 10-12K kms.replacement for good overall health of the vehicle.Originally posted by HydBiker View Posthe he... for one, i saw a unicorn with a stock plug after 64K KMs... the owner was complaining of knocking
For bikes without a kickstarter I think its all the more important!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Xtreme seems to have resonance between about 65 - 75 kmph approx. Don't recall what RPM range that falls in. If thats what you are experiencing, then I guess its typical to Xtremes. In my case, these vibes reduced after I switched from Idemitsu to Gulf.
Everything will be ok after x services is a standard tactic they use. Perhaps it is successful because customers often get used to the problem rather than insisting on solving them. Or after getting to rape your bike, you may get several more problems, and forget about older ones...
