Initial pick up is ok. The 1st gear is very short like ~3.1. The pick up after 3000 rpm is very gd. Hunk is comfortable for medium distance trips like 150-200kms. I have never done any cross country trips till dateOriginally posted by sanjukoli12 View PostCan anyone tell me how is the initial pickup of the hunk. Also what average do u ppl get from this bike Hunk. Also is the seat comfortable for long rides both for the rider and pillion.

First servicing done today. They charged me 340 bucks for the oil change. Also put in an 'oil additive' which the service centre guy said was needed for premium bikes like Hunk/CBZX/ZMA/ZMR.
He said it will make the gearbox easy.
Fact is, I rode for 30 kms after servicing and the gearbox actually felt better. shifting was very precise and soft on the toes. The engine sounded a lot smoother and vibe free. Pick up also was better.
Pratham motors is a great place to get your bike serviced...On time and the supervisor actually comes during delivery and explains what exactly was done. Checks it himself.Riding the BULL....(with out the LET)...

340/- for oil change? A 1 liter can cost 175/-, how can the take almost double amount?Originally posted by Motorcyclist View PostFirst servicing done today. And after servicing, gears are usually smooth and engine runs freely, but after few hundred kms..they tend to get hard, but that really varies on how you warm up the engine.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

I've felt the only drawback with the CBZ-X is hard gearshifts.Originally posted by riazmomin View Post340/- for oil change? A 1 liter can cost 175/-, how can the take almost double amount?

Not actually, It depends on the engine oil AFAIK. HH 10w30 oil could be the reason for hard gear box, I have been using motul 300v for more than 4000kms now...there is no sign of any hard gears.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostI've felt the only drawback with the CBZ-X is hard gearshifts.
Even on my old Xtreme, Which had run 16000kms when I sold it, never had the hard gear problems.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Which branch of Pratham Motors? The one on Bhandarkar Rd or the one somewhere on Bombay-Pune road?Originally posted by Motorcyclist View PostFirst servicing done today. So they did succeed in pulling a fast one on you - selling you additives.
Tough luck for your bike and pocket dude!
And yes, gearbox and all is v likely to smooth and all after an oil change. Anyway, they do not and should not be touching the gearbox during routine servicing... so whatever difference you feel will be mostly due to the oil only.
And check if they are using BPCL HH oil. The Bhandarkar Rd branch uses that. If yes, then tough luck for your bike again.

I am happy it has made clear that hunk is clearly capable of making it above 125 on the speedo....Originally posted by jeyessh View Post@bharadwaj how did the engine cross 9k rpm??

Yep, they used the HH oil only. The additive is from IFTEX. He said that this is only for first two services. It basically helps maintain the viscosity of the oil for longer and at better temperatures in our driving conditions. The oil does not 'break' easily. He said this will be good esp. if you are riding consistently high speeds. Lets see. Planning a long trip (400 kms one way) very soon. Will tell you if it makes any difference.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostWhich branch of Pratham Motors? The one on Bhandarkar Rd or the one somewhere on Bombay-Pune road?

Wakdevadi (Mum-Pun road) branch only.
1) Try not to use BPCL's HH oil.
2) Was that really IFTEX oil additive they used? Haven't seen this anywhere yet. Whatever it is, I'd get it out, if I were you.

Iftex is the petrol additive if I'm not wrong, Bardahl is the engine oil additive.Originally posted by Raccoon View PostErm... guess you didn't get what I was hinting at.
