    1) I told him the same thing. He said next service, please get your own can from outside and we will fill it here. He suggested Mobil or Valvoline. Said even Castrol is Ok but Gulf is best. Also said that dont get the oil from Nana peth as it sometimes is spurious.

    2) Yes, it is IFTEX. I checked with him. It is in a big barrel. I asked a friend who is an avid biker/mechanic and he confirms this. Said that it is still new in India and the percentage that they put depends upon the grade of the oil that we use.

@sarvajit: Bardahl is there, IFTEX has just come up with this, it seems.

Mobil? AFAIK, Mobil does not have any bike oils. Valvoline have come up with a 10W30 oil. Don't know how good it is... but considering their other stuff, it should be good. Personally I use Gulf, and quite happy with it. Possibility of getting spurious oil seems pretty high these days. So do be careful. Nothing is trustable esp. in Nana Peth. PM me if you want to know where to get Gulf, etc.

      • Never heard of any HH svc centres in B'luru using any additives..be it for petrol or engine oil....and please note that these additives are not tested and certified neither by the manufacturer of the bike nor the additives' company....svc centres may be adding to make some good profit....and nothing else.

          • though i haven't personally tried gulf , i've heard it's very good. if you want to try synthetic oil, petronas sprinta 10w40 is very good and the cheapest of the synthetic lot. Am using it currently.

you can go ahead and try gulf pride without a second thought(based on opinions of fellow xbhpians).

            • Thanks kaka for your feedback. Yes I heard about petronas sprinta but I have to check it in my locality.

              • Anyday gulf dude.. I'm using 20W40 Gulf Pride and it is very good.. doesnt heat up the engine as Power 1. I had a bad experience with Power 1. Also gulf has 10W30 with some Pentatec technnology (Probably for HH users for mileage). Try it

don't forget the grade while buying. Since 10w30 is available in gulf, it won't be a problem. Else you can comfortably go for 10w40 or 5w40

as far as i know there isn't any fully synthetic gulf 10w30 grade oil . It is a synthetic blend.

however they have another oil of grade 20w50 which they claim is for all HH bikes. Don't know whether it's fully synthetic or not, but considering it's drain period of 10k(mentioned in the site), it might be synthetic.

                        • ^^^ It is not synthetic. It is not even labelled as semi-synth (20W40)! It is one of the best if not the best oil in it's catageory nonetheless...

Like mentioned many times before - for availability issues just contact Gulf!!

                            • I have used Gulf pride 10W30 for about 4000kms in my ZMA used 3 cans

Had to change oil after every 1500kms

this oil is good however engine will only be smooth for about 800-900 kms after that it feels like oil loosing its velosity

i am using petronas 10w40 5000 completed 1500kms and oil is still strong and engine is smooth

                              • Now thats strange. It goes well beyond 900 km in my CBZ-x. Ditto with the 20W40 in a friend's Unicorn. Do you ride a lot in city traffic or ride hard?
