re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
My bike has run 24000 kms... with not much of a problem except the stalling issue i.e the rpms fluctuating always during the startup and also it stalls when i stop the bike.
Any solution for it?
Also today after coming back from some work i parked the bike and was just looking at the engine and then suddenly i saw oil leaking from left side of the engine.
I m posting pics for the same. hope to get the answer of what it is and how it is caused and how can it be rectified?

First if spark plugs have not been replaced till date then replace them with NGK CPR7EA9Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostMy bike has run 24000 kms... with not much of a problem except the stalling issue i.e the rpms fluctuating always during the startup and also it stalls when i stop the bike.

Then clean carb , only float and jets require cleaning thats it, then retune it as the symptoms you mentioned point towards lean mixture.
Check battery voltage , as battery perfomance also affects ignition in extreme
Have you over filled engine oil ? check oil level as it can cause more damage to engine
Open up crankshaft cover using #10 allen key and replace a O ring , most probably ring has given up causing it to leak , I am not sure but I read somewhere that overfilling engine oil also leaked from same area , so if oil level is okay then just change O ring
@all today after procastinating for long I took some time out and changed brake fluid
In diy thread there are couple of bleed methods for various bikes , mostly they all are same. I got Bosch DOT4 brake oil and some clear pipe for 100rs and did bleeding myself
Now pressure in brakes is back which is due to removal of old fluid and air stuck in between lines. My bike is almost 1.5 yr old and believe me brake fluid doesnt last any long than this. I am in search of better disc pads which will give more feedback and bite as stock pads offer good retardation but low bite.

Get the carb clean and tune or if already cleaned then just tune it and your problem should resolve.Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostMy bike has run 24000 kms... with not much of a problem except the stalling issue i.e the rpms fluctuating always during the startup and also it stalls when i stop the bike.

For the leaking oil get new o-ring for that cap from OE and install. Your problem will resolve in two minutes.
Will PM u the part number for the same.
If you still have any further concern, pls feel free to ask.

Check battery voltage , as battery perfomance also affects ignition in extreme.-this i need to get it rectified since battery is to the end of its life after serving me well for over 2.5 years.so will the stalling issue get rectified if i get the battery changed?
Have you over filled engine oil ? check oil level as it can cause more damage to engine- i filled the engine oil to gulf 4t synth 10 w30 in my previous service which was 1700 kms back. but that was just 900ml so i certaily know that i have not over filled my engine with the engine oil.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
900ml of oil can be an overfill , if you have emptied the whole bottle into there without checking the oil level
. With bike in main-stand on level ground , fill oil only untill it shows between the min & max marks on the dipstick . So check your oil level now in the same way , about ten mins after a ride .

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
@ Tusharextreme. The Normal life of a regular plug is 10,000 Kms . A Platinum plug gives Twice as much of 20,000 Kms and an Iridium at least 40,000 Kms...All these are values under ideal conditions.
Over a period of time, little overfills of Engine oil starts spilling over to the Rotor side and if the "O" ring in the center casing bolt fails, leaks through it.
Engine shutting down indicates a possible lean AFR. First get the Plug cap checked, change spark plug with a NGK plug, and adjust AFR slightly rich compared to present...I am assuming your Air Filter is in Good condition and cleaned/replaced recently.Last edited by psr; 02-12-2014, 11:27 AM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Have completed 15000 kms so far. Experienced no problem yet so far.
I am also getting a decent average of 52 kmpl if i ride till 70 kmph and not more than that. If i raise above 70 kmph then the average falls down.
Happy with my first bike experience
Now its time to get to the next higher level cc
Waiting for the right bike to arrive in the market.
As i have noticed this bike is good for long distance touring,
This is a small art work as i am a fan of xbhp

Will check the same. Today got the o-ring replaced and voila the leaking stopped.Originally posted by Pinaki View Post900ml of oil can be an overfill , if you have emptied the whole bottle into there without checking the oil level

I have adjusted the AFR myself after it was screwed up by the mechanic during the service. Now wanted to know about the new battery coz i my stock battery is more or less dead. And can i use 5 amp battery instead of 4 amp 1 and which is the best 1 to buy and probable cost.Originally posted by psr View Post@ Tusharextreme. The Normal life of a regular plug is 10,000 Kms . Yes you can fit a 5 Amps battery in place of a 4 Amps battery ,and Amaron maintenance free battery is good. Approximate cost would be 800~1,000 rupees.Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostWill check the same. Today got the o-ring replaced and voila the leaking stopped.

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
No you cannot fit a 5 AH battery in the extreme as it is quite big and extreme battery cage is very small to fit unless removing the battery cage and fitting bigger cage which is difficult. So go for 4AH and now AMARON has come out with 4 AH so will be good. I am using SF SONIC and is also very good.Originally posted by tusharxtreme View PostWill check the same. re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Thank you for the helpful reply..Originally posted by shoeb2015 View PostNo need to maintain 5K RPM limit as your bike has done more than 2,000kms, just accelerate gradually and there shouldn't be any problem.
Check the slack in chain by removing the rubber cap on the lower part of the chain cover. When you push the chain up, your finger must touch the upper part of that cap hole that is it should have around 1.5 inch of slack.
If using barrel oil then change it within 1500kms, oil from sealed bottle (Made by Tide Water or Savita oils) is good for 2,000kms.
Change the Petrol Pump and do a tankful-tankful mileage test.
My bike is becoming smooth day by day..
Will change the oil by next week.. The mileage part is still the same.. 35 kmpl..
Did a tank ful to tankful mileage test..
Service guys say we wont comment on that until 3rd service.. before 3rd service mileage keeps on fluctuating..
The chain slack is perfect..
Thanks!

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
Hey Fellas!
I am thinking to fill Nitrogen in my Hero Hunk Tires..
It will just cost me 60 bucks..
Is it good to fill nitrogen.. heard quiet good recommendation and reviews about it..
The life of tyres and mileage increases.. and also the bike gets good grip of the tarmac..
Is that true..?
I filled it once in my Ford.. Didnt noticed any major difference .. as i used to ride in city only..
Cheers!

re: CBZ xtreme / Hunk
I did a detail research on Google regarding nitrogen for my car, What I learnt was, it's of no use or makes no difference. Better go for puncture proof of good brand.Originally posted by AmanZ View PostHey Fellas!
