The CBZ is back in action after the rebuild.

The following were changed;

1. Clutch Plates(Friction and Steel).
2. Clutch Basket.
3. New Valve Kit, head overhauled at lathe.
4. New Timing Chain Kit, includes chain, sprocket and tensioner.
5. New Piston Rings, Standard size.
6. New Gasket Kit.
7. New Seal Kit.
8. New Drive Chain Kit.
9. New Fork Springs.
10. New Fork Seals, both Dust and Oil.
11. New Coneset.
12. New Starter Relay.
13. Front Brake Master Cylinder Overhaul Kit.

She now runs like stink, crack open the throttle and you can feel that characteristic Honda low end, being used to the P220 and CT100B both being short strokes I did manage to break traction on launching the first couple of times until I got used to it, especially taking sharp U turns on broken surfaces.

Average riding speeds with minimal throttle input is at 75~80Kmph on ghat roads, crack open the throttle and she pulls clean to 100Kmph on the speedo, didn't push more due to safety concerns as she's running on expired rubbers and the roads were not too good to begin with.

She's currently running on Castrol Activ 4T 20W40, due to having standard raised bar handles on the P220 and CT100B the vibes nearing peak torque were irritating as they are more prominent on motorcycles with clip-ons, but nonetheless livable with considering the performance on offer.

Other than the tires the stock RVM's are pathetic when it comes to visibility and feel cheap when adjusting, almost like they'd snap. If I get the time would head out and have them changed to Bajaj RVM's which though are cheap at 175/- per piece offer way better visibility, even better than the RTR mirrors which I have a pair laying around.

The fuel level sensor is bust, so it always shows FULL, need to change later on, parts availability is BS and sourcing is nerve-wrecking.

The AFR is set to 1.5 turns and the idle is at 1.5k RPM, there is slight fluctuation in spite of reworking the valves and using a new manifold and O ring, suspicion is that the leak is from the slide compartment, though the slide doesn't stick hence postponing.

Any tip to lower the height of rear brake pedal is welcome as it sits too high and is only comfortable when flat-footing the pegs.

All in all the motorcycle runs spectacularly!

Update:

Got the RTR Mirrors installed, boots are from the KTM Duke;

The mirror on the brake side uses a reverse thread on Hero's and Honda's, hence had to retain the stock adapter, the other side is a direct fit without the adapter, the adapter can't be see as I've used the RTR's boot to cover it up. The height advantage is not noticeable otherwise only evident when you ride as you get a more commanding view of traffic overtaking you.

The protruding part is the RAM Mount adapter;

This is a cracker of an engine. Pulls like crazy and goes like missile out of muzzle. Do not use 20W40. Use 10 W 30 and see how it pulls and revs. It revs like a 4 valve engine and short stroke engine. And since recommended is that don't use thicker oil. Will damage bearings and crank and rockers.

Mine crossed 1 lac kilometers but still flies like a falcon.

also how difficult is it to replace valve guides.can the technician damage the head during valve guide replacement.
spark is good. fuel supply also good.no smoke was there before
Do check after a while to see whether compression has returned, random compression loss is a thing with yesteryears Honda's, usually compression returns after a break i.e unless the valves have gone for a toss.

To get rusted this much the bearings must have got water entry and there was little or no lubrication in the bearing . Also for water to get in there , it must go past more than one oil-seals . So to keep the new bearings safe , check the oil / dust seals in the wheel . Nowadays even new bearings come with very little grease in them . Some say that's enough . But we have very wet climate - I inspect & lubricate wheel bearings & axle-rod with grease at least once a year , preferably post-monsoon . You are right , manufacturer should be more careful in design so that vital components stay weather sealed . Wheel bearing fail in running bike could result to a bad accident .

The ODO stands at 70,xxx. There was a screeching sound coming from front wheel. Thought it must be from the brake pad due to dust accumulation. Two days back there was a slight wheel wobble. Took it my trusted mechanic. Mechanic told that front wheel bearings are gone. Brought a new SKF Bearing. Mechanic took almost 20 minutes of hammering to remove the wheel axle. It was literally jammed. While removing the axle, the speedometer wire got snapped. My bad luck. After removing the bearings, this is the condition of bearing

In my 25 plus years of riding, I have never seen a critical component like wheel bearing rusted so badly. It would have been catastrophic had the front wheel jammed while driving. Bloody Hero. After split from Honda, quality is going south.

My Suzuki GS 150 completed 1,30,000 kms without sweating. Apart from regular servicing, it did not give any major problems.

New Wheel Sensor ordered. Cost 900 plus bearing 200. Total damage Rs.1,000/-

Mine is at 71000. Might take another year to cross. Getting 55 KMPL (smooth riding). Tyres changed @ 42,000 (Both front and rear). No other complaints. will update shortly.

Always go for oe for critical engine components.

Duplicate clutch housing will eat up your gear pinion teeth, main gear shaft and will cause noise and jerks when leaving clutch.

And plates well duplicate is a nightmare.

Will not give the progressive feel. Will feel like on off switch.

Eat up the clutch bell.
And will fry the pressure plates and clutch center.

Power loss is a different story.

So go for original spares.

Still I'm not getting the atleast performance. I have a ride a week ahead. But my machine is getting sluggish after crossing 60kmph(5500rpm).it starts roar.
What to do to make that free. I'll indicate my mechanic as per your advises.
Thanks
Mrityunjoy Chatterjee.

Check two things.
1. tappet settings
2. Carburettor tuning

If the tappets are adjusted manually without gauge then bike will feel strained above 5500 rpm. Always insist on using feeler gauge and keep the specs at 0.06 for intake and 0.10 for exhaust. Nothing more and nothing less.

As for carburettor settings since you have installed new carb the setting will be from factory which is not according to your bike.
Tune the carb and most mechanics race the engine to tune carb which is not the right way for extreme.

For extreme ride the bike for 5-6 kms.

Raise the idle to 1500 and not more.

Tune the fuel screw till you get highest idle.

Then set the idle to 1250 by idle screw.

I didn't get it why you changed carburettor and clutch housing?

These are not readily changed items.
