My height is only 5'4'' so the height of bike 1145 is little problem. Riding once started is fine.Gears are a bit tight, from 4-5 false neutral type came 2-3 times . the clutch was little loose so tightened it, now gears also have little better feel.

Lighting is good, tested on local roads only.Reflector is doing it's work fine.

Idle RPM tends to increase when hot .so adjusted it to1500 when hot (anti clockwise rotation of knob of the carb.) so cold RPM is 1000+ only but no problem starting in the mornings, even though it is rainy season in Kerala now .

Now about mileage very happy to get above 60 km/ltr.as speed is limited to<50km.

Now I am retired from service . so only some long trips like once in a month ekm -bangalore 565 km.once in awhile I take to ghats like ekm- madurai, ekm - kodaikanal, ekm or bangalore to kollur-Mukambi, Sringeri- Horanadu- kateel- subramanya-sulia and Puttaparthi in A.P.state.

Total riding experience more than 4-lakh km. by bike and car, in all four southern states. Now in the planning to go to Shridi in Maharashtra once.
Wonderfull. Amazing riding spirit. I know it's very difficult to keep it for a family man at this age coz of the pressure from family and friends. I'm suffering it now
Love the ride, not the destination

@Aneesh@4GHz Thanks for the Welcome .Am 53 & an Enggr. by profession .As a child used to stare at the java's and bullets and lamby's and dream. Started my riding with lamby 150, back in the 80's.In those days work shops were very less in Ekm. Carbon dioxide was the dealer.so took spares from them and ventured to repair by self ,including painting with improvised spray gun ( flit -spray ).So the habit was taken over , when i purchased Kavasaki 100cc by bajaj, Max 100 by TVS, Splendor, Super splendor and now to CBZ. I enjoy the self repairs as it gives me confidence to ride solo and long.

Happy to be in here and Thanks to all Once again.

        • Millage Update :: 1900 kms

hey guys today i was passing my trusted fuel pump...and my eyes immiteately saw the fuel needle on my bike.
it was exactly in the middle so i thought why not top-up the petrol tank since bike had to run around 1000kms more for 2nd free service.
Now the Most aawaited Millage figures for my Babe:
          Total Kms Coveres: 411 kms
Totals Fuel Consumed : 7.39 Litres
          Average Millage : 55.5 kmpl

          Riding Style:

          80:20
          highway:city
maximum rpm (constant for max. time) : 6000k
Avgerage Speed : around 70-80 kmph
Usually high speed and sudden brake driving...or we can name Harsh riding but only single ridder...NO PILLiON.

          Now something abt the handling:
Handling is fair or rather i can say good...but nothing close to best!
MRF tyre looses their grip in Rains, aka wet roads!
rear disk is very precise if you use it accuratlly...if not then it tends to skits!
bike really feels the heats form cross winds at high speeds..not a not a confidence inspiring if you are not driving in stright line.
thanks to Xbhpians for making me understand the procedure of proper running periods/kms...my bike hardly feels any vibrations till 80kmph and i think she is returning good millage figures in harsh ridding driving style.
Bike shocker are tunned for harder side will ask the SA to soften a bit during the second service.
suggestions and discussion are always welcomed.

till 1900 kms i had topp-up the petrol three times and here are my millage figures:-

                1) 53kmpl
                2) 60.6kmpl
                3) 55.5 kmpl

                  • @chohan.mohit Don't jump into conclusions so fast. just look around.

Now about mileage , it is all about where u drive and how you drive, how you keep your bike and above all your LUCK. Though Bikes like HH cbzs are manufactured in ISO
plants , performance of all bikes need not be same and for all times. So Dear brother, please contact any good mechanic, check up ur air filter, engine oil , idle RPM,Dirt in ur brakes.Air pressure in your tyres, chain slack, purity & quantity of petrol delivered etc. As all these and ur riding style can reduce ur mileage .I am 53 and seems you are young blood , experience will teach you more. May God Bless you to get more from ur bike.

                    • Which set is better for a cbz extreme ?

Front - Michelin M45 or MRF Zapper FM
Rear - Michelin Street Sirac or MRF Zapper C or Zapper Q

                      Michelin M45 - findTyre - motorcycle.michelin.in
                      Sirac Street - findTyre - motorcycle.michelin.in

Posting here and in Universal threads - Tyres section ..
MRF Front tyres - MRF Tyres
                      Rear tyres - MRF Tyres

I think the M45 for the front and Street Sirac or Zapper C would be a very good combination.

                        • CBZ Xtreme problems

Hello people. I recently did two trips to mulshi - tamhini with friends on my CBZ Xtreme. The first time i didn't run into any problems. The second time around, the bike wouldn't accelerate properly. I had to pull the throttle all the way back to get up some speed (and of course i wasn't in a higher gear). gears had become rough. pickup was waay down. And while accelerating the bike was jerking (the same kind of jerks that the bike gives when it goes into reserve). I switched to reserve but it didn't help. Probably a servicing will take care of all these problems. What i want to know is WHY this happened. Also i live in Karvenagar, Pune. There is a HH service center on paud road and also a castrol bike point (note : not castrol bike ZONE. don't even know what the difference between the two is). I need advice on whether to service it at HH or castrol bike point. And i need a person who will understand and make me understand what the problem is instead of making me shell out more bucks just to put on new parts. Cheers.

You can give it a try if you want to or else return it and get Shell AX7 10w40. I used Shell last time and currently using Valvoline 20w50. Not a great oil though. Performance will be sluggish courtesy the thick oil. I'd recommend a 10w40 over this one.
