So does it mean changing from 10W30 to 20W40 will affect my mileage? :O. Amnd also i m feeling slightly higher temperature of my engine even after 1-2 Km ride, its also producing much of a sound as well.Earlier it was quite smooth, wen i used 20w40 but in my frst service they changed it to 10w30 . is it due to thinner oil being used.i m about to change my oil @1000 km. Suggest wat 2 do

Aside this it would be really helpful if any experieced guy(like most of u) let us know how to fine tune our carb step by step(In cbz xtreme obviously).

    thanks...

Yeah even my bike produces much sound :/

u myt b facing such problem wen starting in morning right? just do one thing change the IDLE RPM speed to around 1500 after 2 mins of engine start, this wud ensure that ur IDLE RPM for cold starts to be around 1000. i hope this works out for u
Or u might b pressing the starter switch for a very short time.

**** need not open the cover, directly look to see the air ratio screw or ask any mechanic, he will show .

ADVICE--- DO NOT Experiment with your costly bike, as any wrong step will adversely affect the performance.

Mileage depends not only on these . but many other variables . on which you do not have controls . Todays TTL circuits for controlling firing angle. compression achieved ,octane no. of petrol , impurities and calorific value of fuels, additives used in basic lube oil whether they are compatible for wet clutch. and its condition.

As far as a biker is concerned , just see the choke lever is off (away from driver), idle speed does not shoot up .Air filter is cleaned every 500 km . Get the carb tuned by a good experienced mechanic. and enjoy riding your bike safely.

So 10W30 oil will increase mileage?Hehe,I don't think so!

After oil change in my first service I am also feeling discomfort. Soon I will change to 20w40.
How old is your bike? How much km on odo? What discomforts you felt?

No,There is nothing to do with mileage as per my knowledge, correct me if am wrong!

Might be,HH Oem 10W30 oil loses its quality @ 300kms from my experience,so engine will be harsh and overheat after 300kms,If you are a very sane rider it may last upto 500kms,So Try Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40 Oil next time( Mineral oil) Mineral oil is best for a settling engine.Only 215rs/L.

Tune your carb for what?,Playing with carb is not an easy task and doing anything wrong will endup with bad results so dont touch it till you get any problems.

Not really, that 5W fellow bulb is nowhere. Green light and White LED light is lit from that bulb socket with comparatively less power consumption(Hardly 1 W)
By d way pics doesnt really do the justice with wat u see wid ur own eyes,it looks bluish but its white.

Does you bike have a turbocharger?

You are completely wrong because Most car oils are rated as API SF, SG, SL and the latest being SM (not yet avail in India). The only API ratings that are applicable to most indian motobike engines are oils that are of API SF or SG ratings. So here you are reffering to Car Engine oil in bikes.Always use JASO MA grade oil . It doesnt matter what the API rating is , if its JASO MA - you are guaranteed that the clutch won't slip and as long as the oil is not API SL and above you are guaranteed that the oil is not harming the engine.Car engine oils have friction modifiers in them, Motorbike engine oils - specifically four stroke engines with a wet clutch multiplate setup do not require oils with friction modifiers So if you put car engine oil in bike, there will be clutch slips,Hope you get it! Rear this ONE and see the image below.

Yes,you are right, dusty areas will need a earlier cleaning.
