I'll bet you've been riding your bike very gently slow and easy ever since you got it . I'm no expert but can suggest you a few things to try out . Hopefully you have not tuned the idle/AFR screw too lean by fiddling with itOriginally posted by cbz_edge View PostHi friends….i might bore u in describing everything but i m in real need of some expert advise regarding my cbz xtreme 2011
I got my cbz on 27th june…1st servicing done at 400 km (1 month after purchase)..
coz I had to leave for Jamshedpur for my college …I parked my byk in mr room ….…in august (mid) I came for 5 days…drove my byk n again parked it inside….after that I came again 0n 1st september …..was there till 5th sep…..after that I came again in durga puja n took my byk to Jamshedpur where I m currently studying…..i
the problem is MY BYK IS NOT RUNNING SMOOTH as compared to other cbz’s….my frnd got 1 from showroom today n I found it far smother than mine….its noise…its pickup…its smoothness(less vibration)…everything was simply better…..i found much more joy in accelerating his byk rather mine…..my bike gives more vibrations …more noise
now wot I have done till now wid my byk is….
1.adjusted the idle rpm screw 3-4 times
2.have taken my byk above 80 only twice
3 changed mobil once during 1st service
N it has done 827 km till now in 3n half months….
I really want my byk to get smoother n better….
Any suggestions r always welcome..
. Go to ASC and ask them to tune it to normal ( even a bit rich for now ) . Also ask them to clean the air-filter . Fill air to recommended pressure on both wheels .Wash and clean the bike . Clean the chain with kerosene & toothbrush , wipe, dry ,oil with EP90 gear oil . A drop of EP90 gear oil on all joints which moves .
Now find a longish straight lonely stretch of road , and gradually take the bike up to 90kmph . Gradually means ... by changing gears at correct rpms .. and accelerating patiently bit by bit as the engine demands . Keep at that speed for one two minutes . Then , without using either front or rear brakes .. gradually bring the speed down to 20-30 kmph , using engine braking only . Keep watching the engine for overheating .. it will heat up .. rest it for sometime if needed . Repeat this often , whenever you get the opportunity . Change your engine oil positively ( in your presence ) at next service , say at 1000 kms . Tell us if this helps .
Also if you do need to park the bike for more than 15 days at a time , better disconnect the fuel tube and drain the carb . Do not reuse the stored petrol .. drain it off the tank .Last edited by Pinaki; 10-14-2011, 03:44 AM.

not getting good milage
my milage is now 40-42KMPL. now its clocked 1600km. rpm set myself between 1-1.5 driving style 50kmph. is there anything i can do for getting good milage? of in future service shall i get good milage. some guys are getting 50KMPL but how
Even my friend p220 gives him 43KMPL his driving style is 50-55kmph. and its 1.3 year oldLast edited by ATHUL4R; 10-14-2011, 07:54 AM.sigpic

you just thinking of not to go to SVC for oil change. But i am thinking that never ever going to SVC (near my area). With them i got 3 scratch in my front mud guard, on shield and in tank. I hate SVC. and even in my first free service they charged and extra 50RS. they saying that its for consumables like water, cotton, shampoo etc.Originally posted by Arjun_shetty View PostYup sourabh thats true.even i faced the same problem when i went to svc for oil change at 350km.they were speaking as if they were giving oil free of cost.better to get it changed outside.if he wish to use oem oil, then he can buy it from svc and change it outside.i'l never go to svc for oil change other then regular service intervals.
Now i am washing my bike once in a week, if rainy days twice in a week. actually whats the tufflon coating material is it wax or polish? where can i get that thing, exact name?sigpic

Dont compare as of now,and there are few points u should follow to have max mileage out of ur machine :Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Postmy milage is now 40-42KMPL. now its clocked 1600km. rpm set myself between 1-1.5 driving style 50kmph. is there anything i can do for getting good milage? of in future service shall i get good milage. some guys are getting 50KMPL but how

1)ride @ highest gear possible without STRESSING ur engine. For same speed petrol consumption is higher as compared to lower one.But at the same time DONT STRESS the engine say HICCUPS and STALLING shouldnt be there.
mileage optimal gear shift RPM range is 4-5000 RPM, try to shift ur gears within this range.
2)Maintan proper tyre pressure, check for the same at weekends.
3)Kahi se pata karo k sabse accha Petrol kahan milta hai, even that will help u a lot.
4) get ur carb tuned at outside mechanic.see how its being done and wen u return turn that FUEL SCREW thoda sa anticlockwise for a little rich mixture for ur ride.
Also get r chain checked/lubricated as there would be a lot of watering entering your chain cover (Same as mineOriginally posted by ATHUL4R View PostWith them i got 3 scratch in my front mud guard, on shield and in tank. I hate SVC.
That would have hurt, when these guys will learn to do it properly.
and even in my first free service they charged and extra 50RS. they saying that its for consumables like water, cotton, shampoo etc.
Completely unfair.
Now i am washing my bike once in a week, if rainy days twice in a week. actually whats the tufflon coating material is it wax or polish? where can i get that thing, exact name?
So called TEFLON COATING is nothing but a polish being used by Service centre,i have seen on my own A guy with his TRUNK full of polish bottles
. charges are 350 for 3 coating/polish after6/12 months.quality is ok-ok.
instead go for a good bike wash and a polish for ur ride
.
), check for ur chain by putting ur bike on main stand and rotating ur rear tyre. u will come to know how does that sound and how smooth is its rotation.
Hope this helps..

IMO its better to park the bike on main stand during long haults...your opinion sir?Originally posted by Pinaki View PostI'll bet you've been riding your bike very gently slow and easy ever since you got it . I think they just do wax polishing in the name of teflon coating.better get yourself a good wax polish and use it only after washing your bike.kangaroo wax and ARMOURA ALL liquid waxes are good.Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Postyou just thinking of not to go to SVC for oil change. hey...i got my chain nd sprocket lubricated by castrol grease.....changed engine oil....but still the problem persists...i can hardly find difference ....the engine gets stressed at 4k rpm...so have to change gear at 3.5....n u know wot i m nt finding any eagerness to accelerate the bike....its harsh....when in 1st gear it reaches 10-11 kph it starts screaming for gear change...at 20 in 2nd gear...at 30 in 3rd gear...Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View Postmy odo = 2400 Km, current mileage : 50+ in highwayts, 45-50 in city. Someone else is getting 60+
here in xBhp. 45+ is a must in any situation.

try these things either from ur own or @ SVC/Good mechanic :
1) Very first thing change ur engine oil. i can understand how harsh/hot u would b feeling, its mostly because ur engine is new and few 100 kms are very crucial for setting of internal parts of the engine,so it requires frequent oil change. So go for the engine oil change today itself. Castrol\Shell\Motul\Elf 10W30 or 20W40. change it again after 300-400 Km(if money is nt an issue
).
2)check for ur chain lubrication : i have done it recently on my own. put ur bike on centre stand, rotate the rear wheel with ur hand and see how smoothly its running? if u feel k tyre is not moving freely or having some noise inside the chain cover, get ur chain CLEANED/LUBRICATED ASAP.If u wana save some bucks and wanna tra a DIY just lemme know
3)Get a good mechanic in ur locality and ask him to set ur carb. Just tell him k YE PETROL BAHUT PEE RAHI HAI
. THODA CHECK KR DO. have a look how he is doing it,after that wen u return TURN THE SCREW (u would come to know urself which one ) anticlockwise 1 turn to make it little RICH.
4)Keep air pressure correct : 28 REAR, 31 Front
point 1 and 2 : get it done ASAP. 80 % of ur problem is because of this
3: rest of 20 %
4: for ur routine checkup
and dont feel as if u would bored any of us here, everyone needs help ,just dnt hesitate and let us know about ur issues
regards
wot to do saurabh??Last edited by cbz_edge; 10-14-2011, 07:01 PM.

i got my chain lubricated today....changed engine oil ...hh 10w30
but still dint find any difference in exhaust note....at 1st gear when it reaches 10-11 it starts screamin for gear change....similarly at 20 in 2nd gear and at 30 in 3rd gear...at 40 in 4th gear....after 60 ...i wont say its very smooth bt its a bit better....n yes before 1st service i grnerally drove in heavy traffic at 10-15-20 kph...but after 400km i usually drove it on highways....
n 1 more thing....i have nt opened the carburreter....does adjustment in idle rpm screw makes the mixture lean or rich???n do suggest wot to do??Last edited by cbz_edge; 10-14-2011, 07:22 PM.

I'm XTREMELY happy with my XTREME.take a test ride and feel it yourself.yes its loaded with tubeless at both the does.btw what made you to change your R15? And one more thing.you can't compare the performance of R15 with xtreme.you may feel underpowered in xtreme compared to R15.Originally posted by karthikbenz View PostHi guys,
I am planning to purchase CBZ Xtreme 2011 after my R15 !!! How is the bike overall ? It has the tubeless tyres ?diE anOthEr DaY;RidE toDaY

I am currently riding 70 KMS daily to my office both sides and so I thought of replacing the bike with some thing which is comfortable for riding with better mileage. So I would be riding max of 80 KMPH while commuting to office. So I thought CBZ is a better option.
