    No one replied.

I have another query. I am getting sound from front disc, its sound of rubbing of disc even without applying the breaks. My bike is 4 days old. What can be the reason behind it? Is it normal behavior on new bike?

I would really appreciate if anyone replies. I am asking very generic questions. I am a complete newbee in bikes so please spend some time reading it and reply with your suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi bro. The issues you mentioned are minor issues only. Dont worry about that.
-The handle lock can be replaced under warranty
-The rubbing noise is common in all bikes with disc brake.
      Happy riding

The sound shall go once you start using the brakes more. You should probably try to clean the disc with soap water... its probably the pads settling in or the dirt in it.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

The initial problems were taken care by SVC left my bike there over night and they even washed it

Front disc provide much needed breaking, it helps a lot trust me. The bike is exactly same as SZ X with cosmetic design change, front disc and tachometer.

Even I felt the same way, as its a brand new brake and hence the sound. But its always good to ask the experts. Lets see, I will ask SVC to check on that in the first service. First service is on 20 Feb 2011.

I am not exceeding 40 Kmph and 4.5 K RPM till first service as mentioned in the manual. Engine is smooth the firing tone pretty unique :P What else you want in 64 K onroad

I have not calculated mileage yet. I will keep you updated, and as fellow xbhpian says never calculate mileage before 2 services

I visited SVC on second day of delivery of my bike. Spoke with mechanic asked him about the mileage, he says everyone who has SZ series bikes reporting the mileage to be 55 Kmpl.

Company gives 60 Kmpl, I am sure which is impractical on the normal city conditions.

                  Hello again,

                  Another query.

I am getting continuous sound from front disc like "chuk chuk chuk" whenever i ride the bike.

Can anyone tell me reason behind it, bike is 1 week old 160 kms done.

Is it normal for a new bike? If not then what could be an issue?

                      Hello dude

Dont bother over much about the new bike.
Give time to it and it will make you smile. There are many problems in almost every new bike before 1st service.
Tell all the problems to the service guys and they will make it perfect.
If you face Any severe problem, take it to the guys immediately.

The noise of engine, some vibrations, braking, low FE, are only due to the new engine. Give piston time to bed it in the engine and you will not have any unwanted issue.
Complete the run-in before checking its ability..

First Congratulations for your new bike.

In every new Brake pad & rotor (disc's) the tolerance between the two will be very less (even if you don't apply the brakes), so even tiny dust particles gets caught between the two will start making noise. This is not a problem. In a few more Km's the noise will go by itself. If you still feel there's a problem, just take it to the SC, and ask for an explanation.
                        Regards,
                        Sam

                          my blue babe

Got my SZ-R last thursday (Feb 17) after a booking period of 2 weeks. I've ridden her 196km till now and I'm so in love with her! She's so smooth, and the grunt at 4k rpm is amazing! Well I won't be crossing 4.5k rpm before 1000km, so can't comment on high rev performance.

                          @
lsp2310 congrats on the bike dude. yeah, i've also heard some screeching noise from the disc a couple of times. i guess it's normal, don't worry.

@all i've just one query. I live in Goa and here at night the temperature drops down to 18 degrees. So in the morning i start the engine using choke, keep it fully down for 15sec, then pull it up completely and keep the bike idle for some 2min before riding her off. And i keep the revs close to 3k for the first 2-3km. Tell me if this technique is faulty, cause i really don't wanna harm her in any way during the run-in.

and one more thing: is it illegal to ride without the saree guard? Well, i wanna remove it.

hm...doing gud with my sz-x....crossed nearly 1200kms....i have a doubt to discuss here...my bike runs good n soft till 50kms..once crossed 50,till it reaches 55 the engine behaves so rough n i feel that its stressed...once crossed 55,till 75(tested till now upto 75 only) i didnt find any issues....is this normal???or is it a sign of engine problem??? I also remember that engine vibe pbm in GS150R at 3.5K...is it similar to that kind of normal scene?? Motoseniors... plz advice...
