yamaha's do'nt compromise on quality....enjoyOriginally posted by ramchennai View PostHi guys. I noticed that Bybre disc brake is installed in SZ-R. I am wondering how it is installed in a low cost 150cc bike since Bybre is one of the best brake in the world. But it is not mentioned in any of the bike documents(manual, specification) or advertisement. I think very costly bikes only have this brake and I have seen Pulsar 220 with Bybre disc brake in India. How you guys feel about Bybre disc brake in SZ-R? If our disc brake is high quality Bybre, then it is adding more value to the bike and the bike is more worthy for the price and it is the only bike having Bybre in 150CC segment. Cheers!!

on the ride front i don't yet know how to differentiate between stiff n soft suspension(ride), but ya its normal, one thing though after some 30km my bums were hurting. mileage i didn't check i filled Rs.400 worth petrol on my way home form the showroom still haven't hit the reserve. the dealer said bike has some 1.5 or so litre in it already. 138km so far on odo, fuel meter says i'm low on fuel

gear ratios
guys need help on gear ratios, manual didn't mention it.
when i hit a speed breaker, i slow down the bike i shift down to 3rd gear, then when i rev up a little, the engine makes a sound i can feel the piston going up n down, is it normal, i don't like shifting to 2nd cause it stresses the engine, when reving up it pulls u, when revving down it pulls u back (some automatic breaks)
i do this b'cos i want to ride as smooth as possible, when i ride i slowly pick up speed n shift gear when i feel the engine is being stressed even slightly(u know the noise it makes) pardon me if i sounds stupid, its been a week since i've started riding. although i ride ok, but am always confused if i'm doing it right, since no one taught me to ride.
plz also advice how to avoid the drag(upwards n backwards) whenever shifting gears(up or down), the manual said not to rev on downward shifts but if one doesn't do this, the lower gear pulls u back,

also isp2310 i think the majority of SX* owners are newbie might be that they don't know much, get attracted buy new launches. the forum helped me gain most of what i know about bikes but ultimately i was on budget, n was really not sure about SZ*. n twister was tiny although i love it even now, i think SZR is a decent deal, nothing like it in the price range. n a newbie would not think twice, whereas an experienced person would wait add a little extra moolah in his budget n buy what he thinks is best. or according to priority (i.e mileage, comfort etc).Originally posted by cruzer View Postthanks

All I mean it by ALL bikes are crazy in the initial run-in period. They behave nuts at times! But once you complete 1000 kms and first service these small problem (They are not the problems in reality) flies off.Originally posted by cruzer View Postguys need help on gear ratios, manual didn't mention it.

See the engine is totally new, so the parts inside the engine rub each other to fir perfectly each other, this is a very important time for your engine. Do shift gears below 3-4K RPM, dont exceed 4.5 K rpm in any of the gear, at least in first 500 kms, I followed it for first 1000 Kms , my bikes engine now feels so smooth! The gears are butter smooth!
At any point of time if in doubt consult SVC, initially if you could have checked this thread, my bike had a lot of small issues, but after 1st service, it all history! I just go out everyday, put the key in, push the start button.
Also dont worry much about mileage, it will be low at the beginning, but as you ride more and more and also once you complete servicing the figures will improve.
Keep posting your experience.

I do not think most owners are newbies because I am not one. I think SZX(R) is a very wise choice for a serious commuter. This has been a gradual upgradation for me from a 100 cc bike, then a 125 cc bike and now this SZ-X. This has been the best. If you do not have racing instincts, this is the best bike you can buy along with unicorn. SZX compares well with Unicorn. Unicorn gives you a better drive feel with smooth engine note and also has more power but SZX scores well in handling and pillion comfort. It is like a dream while taking curves and riding in the city and is priced 10k less than unicorn.Originally posted by lsp2310 View PostCongratulation and welcome to SZ family!

Agreed! Well Said!Originally posted by chasejp View PostIt is a really good purchase for customers who look for an intelligent commuter vehicle.
This is really one of the best buys in the market for those who want to use it for commuting. This bike is not meant for racing at all. This is one of the best in city, the ride quality and handling is one of the best! I will test the long drive capabilities of my SZ R after the second service, I am damn sure this my steed will not disappoint me for sure.
Mileage reading 50+ but less than 55 consistently.
This one is also one the best factor of this bike, treat her good she will treat you the best!
Keep posting also you did not mention anything about mileage.
Cheers!

Correct me if I am wrong, you are yet to complete first service, right? I also got this mileage after my bike's first service, after first service and 1K kms the bike behaves normally.Originally posted by chasejp View PostI am getting around 48 kmph inside the city.. not even one kilometer outside the city, whenever I checked... so. i thought it was fine..

facing problems!
guys i'm really worried about my bike, today i completed 300km, but noticed a few unpleasant things.
1. when i was at the fuel station, then the guy inserted the fuel pipe into my tank, it moved, i mean its not fixed, if u hold the tank by bottom u can move it so easily.
2. i really like the way it looks but its all plastic, i didn't notice earlier but from the tank, mud guard and even the fairing is all plastic. i was really happy to get a yamaha but now donno y i'm depressed. the bike is gonna break if it falls.
4. it was raining yesterday when i was on the road, n today all of a sudden the rpm meter cease to respond, then started to working after 30min,
3. guys this one is serious plz advice. i haven't cross 45 only once or twice. and i'm a very non- aggressive rider. but when in 5th gear i'm at 45kmph the bike sound strained donno y, before that it's smooth even while shifting gears, but once i ride constantly at 45kmph after a while i start noticing this, is it serious?
donno y how this bike is so heavy all plastic still i can't put it on main stand on my own.
this is my first n i was so excited about but i'm sad now, this doesn't feel good.
