. reserve to reserve calculation may not be the accurate method, this is because the petrol level on both the sides of the tank never be the same (when very low). I would suggest to measure from full dry to full dry. Obviously you would now the last few kilometers have a petrol can handy during those last few kilometers, this will surely give accurate measurement, make sure you use the petrol stagnated on the other side of the tank too. happy riding!

Are you kidding me? Its way too low, how do you ride your bike? Check for fuel leak. There is something wrong with your bike man! Get it checked! Or you might have a lot of petrol thief in your locality.Originally posted by dhilip1 View PostMY SZX started with
First service 50
then 45
then 35
Now its giving 26 ...

My SZ-R delivers constant 50 Kmpl (+- 5 Kmpl) depending upon my mood (Riding style)
but never below 40 Kmpl.
Second service done, bike is smoother than ever. 1700 Kms done.
Had broken speedo-taco glass, asked SVC about it during second service asked me to pay Rs. 2300/- to replace speedo and tacho. Then I wrote an email to Yamaha India on Thursday got a call from Western Region Service Manager and also from Yamaha SVC service manager on Monday, took the bike to them, initially he said that he have one used speedo of other SZ-R with 1100 Kms done, I straightaway denied, then he checked catalog for the glass and found that the glass / fiber over speedo and tacho comes as a different part with different part number then he opened other speedo got the glass / fiber and replaced mine. Also saw silver paint of bike's left panel peeling off, showed it SVC manager and he was kind enough to get that replaced after 2 days as the part was not available. I am really impressed with the helpful nature of Yamaha SVC guys, he never was frustrated nor unhelpful.
Bike is now problem free and happy with it, planning to go for a road trip of 120 - 150 kms to see its performance on highway, I think it should be good
Cheers!

Hi Dilip,Originally posted by dhilip1 View Postmileage

again filled 1.5 litres @ 5751. . lets see. .how much it gives. .
four service completed..
speed 60-80
Please dont take in a wrong way, but your mileage calculation method is pretty incorrect.
My suggestion to you is to fill the petrol above reserve level, as soon as it hits the reserve, fill it up with 1 liter of petrol and ride the bike till it comes to reserve, repeat this practice twice or thrice, sum it up and take out the average of it, it should be your 'approximate' mileage. Also consider loss of fuel due to evaporation.
Cheers!

Hello,Originally posted by sz-r View Postany updates on mileage..
my sz-r giving me 35+..1 service done ..
dont know why my FE is not 45+..
drove at 40-50 kmpl mostly,in cty heavy traffice conditions..
how can i increase my bike mileage..
In which gear you ride the bike @ 40-50 Kmph?
There is a thread here on xbhp on how to improve the mileage of the bike, do go through it.
Also check if there is any leakage for petrol. Try changing the petrol bunker or manufacturer e.g. shifting from HP to IndiaOil.
Try to ride the bike in the higher gears, make sure you are on 5th gear when you ride at 40-50 kmph, it helps improving the mileage.
Seniors any thought on it?
Cheers!
