I wouldnt go for any tyre change very soon, I am gonna run the stock tyre as long as they last. TVS tyres are not too bad, I rode SZR in heavy rains found the grip to be fine, I was doing 40-50 kmph constantly on heavy rains.

I would go with tubeless tyres after stock tyres runs out, probably Michealin or MRF Zapper.

Why you guys need heavier and wider tires??? I had mentioned in the forums many times, even Ninja 50 witha top speed of more than 180km/h comes with a 130/70-17 rear tire,Think guys, think.

+1^^^ Saree guard helps your bikes in many ways.Especially in crashes.

Isnt our SZ series bike have one of the thick rear tyre? I remember in our thread one guy mentioned that he fit R15 tyres to his SZ-R. Anyone tried it?
SZ has 100/90-17 and R15 has 100/80-17. Only side wall size and grip level will be different.

Thanks a ton bro for the tyre size comparison, I have been searching it but couldnt find it, so I gave it up.

So will it be a good deal to fix R15 tyre to SZ-R / X?

Why you want to do it? I think the grip level will be better than the stock SZ tire and i think its tubeless too. Correct me if i am wrong

            • Today i was victim of Hit-and-run, I approached one signal hit the front disc bike stopped, then all of sudden within fraction of a second, my bike was on the ground and a bang sound from the back i was like what happened? The I saw one Zen Estilo fly pass breaking the signal! Public gathered to see what happened.

I got up checked myself for any injury just had a bruise on the left leg near heel. Then I went on to check my bike, rear mud-guard was inside the gap between tyre and seat! Took it out it is broken now big cracks, number plate went into pieces, I was very proud of my number plate, it was literlly into pieces. Then that protect cover on the silencer saved the silencer from major damage and scratches. Crash guard bent, it took all the impact of bike falling down, no single scratch on the tank or front covel, handle bent a little bit, front break light cable was out! Disc working as expected. I am very upset to see my bike getting a hit because of someones elses mistake!

Police came into the scene, they charged the driver who did hit and run and they asked for the compensation from the Estilo Drivermto fix my bike as they took my bike to local mechanic, there i got crash guard, handle got fixed. Even he glued my number plate just to look like a number plate, it looks pathetic now. And the compensation never reached me, its foolish to expect money from the police man! I lost all the respect for Police man.

I will inspect my bike tomorrow again in the day light to see if there is any damage.

              Part currently needs replacement:
              1. Rear Mudguard
              2. Silencer cover. (Saved my silencer from major damage)
              3. Front brake light switch
              4. Rear brake light fiber, i guess that would need a replacement i saw it to come out.

That local mechanic fool short circuited the brake switch and blown the fuse! He then plugged the extra fuse in there.

I dont know how much would it cost, but lets see, I will talk to Yamaha.

One last thing, to those who questioned built quality of this bike, this bike has been built according to Yamaha standards, and it is perfect.

I will keep you all updated, and yes I am alright, rode the bike to home. In this whole incident I did not loose my temper thanks to xbhp thread on the how to tackle the accidents. I was cool as an ice. Thanks a lot xbhp for making me such a sane rider.

              Cheers!

Get all the damages repaired from an authorized Yamaha service center and claim all expenses with your insurance company. Simple.

                Ride safe
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

great to know your alright , get a regular number plate man , talk from experience here , I had a fancy one too and after being hit twice on the back due to some negligent chicks who don't know how to brake and having changed the number plate a couple times , i lost interest in the whole institution ...

The fuse costs about 10 bucks a piece for the 15A one ... which I assume to be common to both the FZ16 and the SZ ... I've blown quite a few of these thanks to my own stupidity and experiments
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

FZ16 headlight assembly with projector and angel eye for sale .

Thank a lot for the kind words buddy.

I will be changing the number plate on Monday and will be getting the regular one as I will be going to Mumbai over the weekend, did not ride the bike as the number plate is broken also I was a bit busy too.

My old number plate was of fiber, it was simple yet attractive.

                        Cheers!

                        • servicing

finally the bike is due for its first service at 850 kms. i am wondering if the forum members have suggestions for me.

did anyone have sticker on the windshield? i am planning to have black stripes running vertically on it. (just like the one on pulsars). as an alternative i have some symbols to stick in case i dont like stickers.

                                Thanks Dhilip

I am absolutely fine, no problem with me

Rode bike day before yesterday, not problem whatsoever with riding, rides as perfect as it was before crash, thanks to crash guard, my bike and me left unhurt! Yes Absolutely unhurt, no scratches on the bike at all, except the rear portion which was hit pretty bad.

Went to Yamaha showroom today to get estimate of the damage.

It went upto Rs.450/- for Rear Mudguard, silencer small cover which is near exaust basically it comes in 2 parts. In hit from behind small cover broke so damage was less; thank you Yamaha for thinking on that saved my money it even saved my silencer from getting damaged. Also parts include front brake switch, small red radium stripe and 1 additional fuse.

I am happy with the costing.

                                Cheers!
