Ya even I wanted to know, whether is it possible to change the gear lever to one of fz , I enquired during the 1st service of the bike few days back, they did not respond properly , they said they will let me know if it's possible

hey thats nice to hear that YBX buttons can be mounted. but i have a doubt. you said park light as well?? well see the bike has a normal light and the high beam. didnt even see a park light bulb

. so where is the park light gonna light up from??

u mean to say we have to add a park light which can be activated from the ybx control buttons???

im confused... throw some light .

yeah dheeraj, even i asked the same with the yamaha sc here in mangalore. same cold response. the dumb sc manager said he will help me cut the original shifter to make it look like the one on FZ

. i was like yeah right.. these guys are really dumb. hey i have read SZ & FZ engines are same so i think the thing to which you mount the gear lever should be same... ???? humm i dont know may be im wrong ..

any ideas?

hey guys have a look at the above pic of the head lights. i have made a red round. can anybody tell me what that is???? loooks like a provision to mount park light is it??? if u can see the head light bulb is just on top.

I Asked him about the bulb and he told me that he don't remember about adding extra bulb for parking light

HE told me that another bulb glows when he use parking light.

okay thanks man !! atleast i know that ybx controls can be swapped with szr for real. thats good news. any idea if it will void the warranty???? the SC guys here in mangalore seem like dumb asses.

Guyies,

I got my SZ-R (Blue) on Sunday, 24th July. I always loved Yamaha bikes for their maneuverability and stability at higher speed.

I have a question about it's fuel gauge. How accurate is it ? On 24th I got it filled with 500 bucks of petrol. Since then it's been driven for 150 kms but fuel gauge already touches Empty (red zone) though not in "reserve" yet. "Technician at the dealer suggested not to go by fuel gauge" - which amazed me. I just need feedback from you guys who owns SZ.

Also, i want to know how important is it to change engine oil after 300-500 kms of run-in. I read this somewhere on this forum only. Please enlighten on this as well.

Fuel gauge of our bike is crazy! Dont rely on it. I would suggest you to do one experiment, ride your bike down the slope and see the fuel gauge, it will climb up and when you come to normal road it will go back to its original position. My bike have 1 liter of fuel in it, and fuel indicator shows empty

. Dont worry, it has 2 liter of reserve capacity. One thing for sure, Yamaha made this gem of a bike but completely screwed up in Fuel Gauge thing

About oil change, stick to the manual and service schedule. Your bike will be fine. Make sure you read entire manual. Keep posting your experience

I appeal this to all SZ owners at xbhp. Hopefully, they will do something about it.

This is my first Post in Xbhp. It's good to know about the swap. It would void warranty as you are modifying the electricals. However, I got a chance to see the Head Light assembly of my SZ-R at Yamaha Service while changing the Head light Bulb. There is a space provided for Running Lamp However, we need to figure out a way to fit the running lamp. You may need to drill a hole to the moulding and then fit the running lamp. I personally feel that LED would be a good running lamp.

I will try this after the warranty period.

hmm waiting for the warranty period to be over seems like a wait of a life time. But yeah led seems the best option available. There is this 12 V leds which u get for car park lights. i think that should be the best fit. it should look something like this
