Hey by the way today i bought a tank pad here in mangalore for Rs.350. i am really suprised by the quality. its not carbon fibre... but its a rubber kinda a material . fixed it on my tank . will post pics tomorrow. its too dark now to take a nice pic...

EDIT: just now was going through google images. found one similar but its got 'YAMAHA' written on it [IMG][/IMG]

Pulsar Tank Pad cost only 85 RS I think its cheaper than the one you bought

            • See folks, I've driven bike for like 535 kms. Still in run-in period. Though I got engine oil changed at 475.

I wanted to get you guys take on it. When I drive at around 60 in 5th gear I hear heavy grunt. Looks like bike doesn't want to go beyond. I know bike doesn't have good high-end torque and not meant for highway driving, but at 60 ? Bike is at its best when in low speeds.

Well I'm not driving continuously at 60, just a small stint when take over those DTC buses and autos here in Delhi.

Should I just ignore and wait for Ist service ?

Normally I'd say that the bike's new andyou should ignore it, but just to make sure, could you relate the grunt to anything, and also when does it exactly happen?? like when you accelerate, de-accelerate?? etc??

It might seem strange. But I guess, you should start ripping her hard.... And by hard I mean real hard...Max out at every gear.. That sort of hard.

There can only be 2 conclusions, either you get back you'r engine else you end up destroying it.

I had the same issue, when using 20W40, so I figured I messed up by doing an oil change too early(@150) and that too with a higher grade, which led to a pause in my run-in. So I shifted back(@500) to 10W30 ripped her hard for 1000kms and then switched back(@1500) to 20W40... Now she's real smooth.. And that too to a point of irritation.

Heel Shifter. You could get the lever cut, else just go to svc and ask them.

The above's a form of hybrid run-in not too soft not too harsh, just perfect for a new bike.
@ashwin, so is it ok to ride at 60-70kmph after 500kms? I'll try and keep it at a medium range of recommended speed and rpms.

I hope it'll be done in a day. But not sure about that yet.

And one more thing guys, I have seen only 4-5 bikes from whole SZ series in our town. Its so rare here. Is it the same everywhere or just at our place? All we have here are the splendors, pulsars, activas and discovers.

Hi guys, I went to showroom and booked the bike. SZ-R Black. With crash guard and engine guard, it'll be around 71.5k. Its ready, but i'll take the delivery on Thursday. Mom said its a good day for my sunsign and all... I don't believe such things, but i'll listen to her. They said kicker will be 3k. I read some guys got it for 2-2.5k. Everything is costly here...
