  • I did consider pulsar 150 but not 135. I took sz-r because it looks better, and also better in mileage, handling, comfort and quality.

SZ-r usually gives 55kmpl. My bike is a new born baby so don't know its mileage yet. Same management holds six of the yamaha shops in hyderabad. I didn't try hard on price because they have fixed price policy written on wall.

          Guyies,

I'm through with bike's first free service. Can I possibly get rest of service done from a different SVC other then the one I bought the bike from ?

          Have a nice day :-)

I bought my bike in Mumbai, did first service at YFS Mumbai, then moved to Pune and now doing service at YFS, Pune. It doesnt matter from where you service you bike, but make sure it is authorized Yamaha SVC. You can check Yamaha India website for authorized service centers.

            Cheers!

              • Whenever I see "Karizma r" my heart feels pain for not buying it as my first bike. It was not in stock in the showroom I went. I didn't chase it hard as this bike is very old. But I must say this bike tops among the bike of the decade.

I feel the same whenever I see R15

And I know R15 is definitely not bike for the starters like me.

                  • Dont feel sad guys,All bike have their own capabilities. You cannot zig zag through city with a Karizma,But you can do it with an SZ-R(I had done it. ) So no need to worry about those silly matters,Just Enjoy and Ride Safe!

                    • I drove yesterday evening 70km (35+35) in the city. No wrist pain or back pain but there is butt pain in the last 10kms. I enjoyed the drive on whole. The bike felt very comfortable to drive in heavy traffic conditions. It is very comfortable to drive in city under stop and go conditions. You can stop in third gear and accelerate from stop position to 50 in quick burst in third gear easily. You can beat almost all the traffic around you from 0-50 driving in third gear.

Bike handling is excellent in city traffic conditions. No vibrations at any speed from 0-80 kmph. I did drove this bike in off road conditions and felt comfortable due to hard tvs tyres.

It was raining almost everyday since one week in hyderabad. On wet and soaked soft red clay road the bike got no grip due to skidding conditions. You need to be in second or third gear and need to go as slow as possible. Because of great control the bike gives its rider it is never frightening.

Braking is excellent. In city driving I had to stop suddenly due to vehicles braking suddenly in the front. The bike just obeyed the orders to stop without a conern.

I did touch 90kmph for few seconds. The bike felt in control and no vibrations.

Overall the bike is good choice for city driving.

There must be a problem with Speedo cable, get that one rectified. The problem that you stated can happen with any bike of any manufacturer, it doesnt mean that brand or the product is bad. No bike is perfect 'I mean it'. You buy any big bike or branded one, you can not guarantee that you would not face this kind of issue.

I had speed and odo stopped working on day 1, got that fixed from SVC. You said the self start has been replaced right? How is that working now? Is it fine or still giving problem?

Take the bike to proper SVC, if problems are not rectified then shoot an email to Yamaha and then call their helpline. They are very responsive! Trust me I have had experienced it first hand.

                          Cheers!

Highly accurate way is to attach 100 ml can to the fuel supply and check how many kms it travels.

Fairly accurate way is tank up to tank up.

Rest are more or less inaccurate as there are many factors plays part in mileage. I calculated my bikes mileage in fairly inaccurate way and found it to be between 45-50 kmpl considering all the worst case scenarios.

                              Hope it helps.

                              Cheers!

@ Lalit : Tank up to tank up is the most accurate way of getting the right figure for FE. That 100ml way can only give you FE on one stretch which could be either good or bad or may be excellent. Tank ups will generally have around 500kms gap and that will ensure that almost every type of riding condition is covered.
