There could be variations at times in the fuel left in the tank while it hit reserves. And then generally you don't get a fuel station ready when it hits reserve.

Tank ups will generally have around 500kms gap and that will ensure that almost every type of riding condition is covered.
Super! I guess you have put it in fairly straight forward way! Tank up to Tank up can be more practical too. I know it would be difficult to get 100 ml can with that much amount of fuel, too much of hassle.

        Cheers!

        • My bikes fuel gauge is not working. Speedometer and tachometer working.

I need to correct this in my first service.

I still love my bike. Handling and city riding is fun.

              • When I bought my bike it came with 0.5lt petrol. I went to pump and put 13.5lt. So total 14lt. I was expecting it to last in the range of 550 kms to 700km. When speedometer fuel gauge suddenly went to 0 after 400 I thought it was not working.

The bike stopped on the road suddenly one day and the problem is out of petrol at 425 kms exactly. Luckily the petrol station is 100 meters away. After putting another 7lt the fuel gauge showing half full. so it is working though not perfectly. It means my driving style is able to get 30kms per one litre petrol.

I am happy with bike as mileage is not a concern. The handling, braking and acceleration in third gear ummm I love it.

                • If mileage is concern don't buy any 150cc bike. If mileage is not a criteria then test drive the bike and choose the one you love.

                  • hey reserve to reserve method on a SZ will not be correct because the shape of the tank that it takes a good turn so that the fuel in one side of the tank(main) reaches the connection to the carburetor
got this info from SVC that SZ reserve to reserve method is not correct way
                    because if the tank shape
its better to go for a 200ml test and drive it 50% city 50% highway route by yourself

                        Both have different carburetors
fitting the fz carburetor will be more complicated more more acceleration try sprocketing or tuning the engine for more power

To my knowledge, FZ and SZ uses different ECU and thats the major difference for both these bikes. Which controls the Power and FE.

The problem that you stated can happen with any bike of any manufacturer, it doesnt mean that brand or the product is bad. No bike is perfect 'I mean it'. You buy any big bike or branded one, you can not guarantee that you would not face this kind of issue.

I had speed and odo stopped working on day 1, got that fixed from SVC. You said the self start has been replaced right? How is that working now? Is it fine or still giving problem?

Take the bike to proper SVC, if problems are not rectified then shoot an email to Yamaha and then call their helpline. They are very responsive! Trust me I have had experienced it first hand.

                                Cheers!
i too have the experience of the mailing Yamaha! ya they are responding welll but the problem is this bike has lot of issues & main thing is many of them are facing issues which i have posted .. A successful bike shouldnt have such issues faced by masses.. only few are reporting here in online...
So Yamaha SZ series is a flop .. it doesnt come in 150 cc or 125 cc ..Yamaha messed up the bike with

                                1) Cost & Quality
                                2) Commuter & Sport
                                3) Power & mileage ..
Bottomline is You cant have both the worlds ..

i am writing this review not in a month... after 11 months ..of using this bike..

I replaced the speedo cable ..since cables doesnt covered in warranty i paid it .. but why the Hell Yamaha charging the labour charge for fixing this issue ..its Under warranty for fixing their defective part they are charging that too within 1 year.. Made a worst decision in buyin this bike! atleast i can save some peoples who are going to buy this bike!
