The rust coloured deposit was wet & went away afterwards. Looked like I hadnt tightened spark plug properly.

And after the problem of hard cold starts, after leaving bike unoperated for 8 days straight(June weather):

Or is the problem of my bike not going straight without hands related to some other part ?

Seems like the air is inflated over the limits. On a cold tyre, keep it 28psi Front and 33 psi Rear. And yes, the TVS tyres are not that good, but after running a few thousand kilometers the tyre will spread out wider and give better grip.

If it may help you, I use NGK G-power spark plugs of the same size and company recommendation, on my SZR and dont face any starting troubles or hiccups. But looking at how the spark plug is too white, i feel the bike is running lean. Get your carburetor overhauled (opened, cleaned using carb cleaner spray, inspect seals and fix it back) and adjust tuning on the next service. If possible get it done at an authorized service center.

There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

I am looking forward to get sz for my uncle.
Primary requirement is ride in hilly area.
I asked if this bike had any problem to a mechanic from yamaha (I know him well) but he said this is worst bike from yamaha.
He says it has air filter problem ( needs to be replaced at around every 2000kms) and mileage is only around 30.

Please tell me if it is true.

He must be an expert in Yamaha bikes. Worst bike with same engine as proven FZ and Fazer? Yeah may be he is right that it is worst bike from Yamaha. I have been using this bike for 3 and half years, just did normal services, changed air filter and spark plug only once, completed about 13K kms. Did whole lot of rides on the mountainous roads. Some of high revving. Mileage never dropped below 40 kmpl and yet it is worst bike by Yamaha. In city I consistently get 45 kmpl mileage in city and the riding speed is between 40 and 60 kmph, and yes it is still worst bike from Yamaha. This bike demands proper run-in, if you dont do it as per manual then you end up becoming ex-owner and start criticizing the bike even without knowing it properly.

                Haha.
Don't go by any mechanic's words.
Its very good bike and has loads of low end torque and is very reliable. We have one at home and has been abused a lot but still engine is very smooth.
Mileage is consistent 45+ and has done 35k kms.

AFAIK, SZ is a very good bike for it's segment. A perfect city commuter with plenty of low-end torque. Even if one goes for long rides, he is never disappointed.
Yes, it's a little low on FE but tell me which YAMAHA bike isn't? YAMAHA and good FE doesn't go together but for everything else, you can trust a YAMAHA.
Having said that, i still think FE ~ 30 kmpl is too low for a 150cc. There might have been some issues like improper run-in, air/oil filter issue, chain issues to name a few.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

                            Hi Guys.
i have 3 things about my SZR, bothering me.

                            1. Black Smoke coming out of the Exhaust on higher RPM. 5K & Above. went to the mechanic and he says the Head is gone, he wants the bike for the whole day so he can go the Ledge and do some repairs and alignment. Dont have any idea what does that mean.
                            2. Bike is getting off while riding. dont have any starting problem whatsoever. but when i drive then only the problem starts. i have noticed when i apply Brakes and Clutch and RPM is very low the bike stops. as i dont have a Kicker, so self start again to drive. I must say here that Yamaha's Ignition units are very good. but i am confused with this problem. i went to a mechanic and he made some adjustments and changed the Idle RPM to 1.5k from 1k. but still getting this trouble.
3.my bike is 3 yrs old now. its give a mileage of 38-41KMPL. i didn't had any issues with the mileage from the beginning and not even now also. the thing which i like the most was the Pick up, which now is missing. even in the 3rd gear with low RPM, the bike struggles. then i need to change to 2nd for a bit of torque. the moment the RPM comes down to a range of 2-3k in 3rd or 4th Gear the bike starts to struggle. then i need to change it to 2nd and it works. i don't know why this is happening.

Guys i need help in these 3 issues of my Bike. i request all of you to please help me in this. i need to know if the mechanic is right or he just trying to fool me.

                                3 & a half years old szr..
Was giving problem of hard notchy gearshifts for last 4 months..changed oil but no difference...It got worse till there was non-slotting of gears. The gear lever just hung loose giving no resistance even when (for simplicity) hand on clutch was removed.
Gear spring was the cause. It had broken..After replacement, shifts with ease.
Also, keeping clutch free play within 1-1.5 cm is advised..
