Has anybody got hold of the soft copy of service manual (not owners manual) yet ?! :sly:

Svc booking period is too long n service got after waiting so long is not upto the mark. plus DIY has its own benefits n satisfaction.

Check this link: size 14.1 MB (Edit : it's Yamaha SZR 660 (1995))

I'm not sure about the content as my bandwidth is low(64 kbps).

They say Yamaha's service is best in the industry only next to KTM & Kawasaki. You don't agree?

I would say Yamaha's spares are best or the best, i doubt on that service thing though.

My Free services were done well at the usual svc. Paid ones were not even close to the quality of free ones. But yes few yamaha svcs are known for their adequate n near complete servicing(which is not done by many of the svcs nowadays).
This was one of the good ones but since about a year the crowd at this particular svc has increased so much that the quality of service has taken a hit.

about battery I think they recharged it and it seems to be working for now. let c for how many days it wroks :-)

            thanks Aman.

Sorry for the late reply buddy. I wasnt able to reply due to some problems.
First of all 1000 RPM is not the optimum rotational speed of the engine. Actually these service persons can do anything out bounds just to satisfy the customer even if its wrong. I am also not satisfied with the after sales service of yamaha. Bro, get it tuned to 12000-1500 RPM.

Glad that pointed battery issue helped you

Lets come to your engine noise now. Bro, just check for any sort of leakage or even a minor hole or wear n tear in the complete exhaust assembly including Air filter and attached component, Exhaust pipe and Silencer. Also ensure that the air filter is not chocked.

            Aman Khurana

Bike wasnt ridden for 8 days.
Didn't start until choke was applied at the 5th press of starter.
2 days on, still experiencing problems of bike shutting down within 10-15 seconds after starting & weak engine sound with rpm at about 1.1k at idle.
Before all this Rpm at idle was at 1.25-1.3k.
What should be done to get it to its original state ?

 Thanx I will check all the things mentioned.
The bike behaves a bit normally when heated up.
And I forgot to mention this before but the bike was kept within close proximity to a place where renovation was taking place with a lot of dust flying around & there was very less fuel in the tank. (precaution for petrol theft)

It can be that dust has accumulated inside check your gas tank with a torch and see for any kind of sediments,

Just ran over some powder of some wall putty or something near my place & checked randomly. Both white patches are towards left hand side.
What measures should be taken to correct this. Bike does'nt go straight when hands taken off the handle bar.
P.s: Sorry have'nt aligned pictures properly.
