Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
Hi naveen, I have been following the Szr thread for a long time now. Have you tried the unicorn sprocket? Coz when I got it for my SZR it didn't fit as the shaft is slightly fatter that that of the unicornOriginally posted by Naveen1985 View PostR15 runs on 14-44 set-up whereas fz runs on 14-40, we have two choices either we can choose 40T rear sprocket from fz or we can fit unicorn's front 15T sprocket.
PS: so you are moving towards 4 wheels or some other reason...??

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
Its one of the most under rated bikes in india. The engine is super smooth and reliable. People may tell you that 12.1 ps of power is less but most of those people don't use all the power. Bumper to Bumper traffic its amazing. The engine rarely heats up. The seating posture is extremely comfortable. I initially was hesitant about the seat height being 5"6 1/2 felt tall, but after about a week i was comfortable. I purchased her in 2011 and she is still going strong. All in all i am still in love with my bikes, just like i was 4 years ago.

Re: yamaha szrr v2.0
I bought a second hand SZ-X and it has exceeded my expectations. The engine is really smooth even after 5 years and the seat is very comfortable.Originally posted by Lianreuben Ngaihte View PostIm planning to buy this model very soon. Do all bikers who have ridden please share ur experience.
The only downside is that mileage seems to be a problem. Other bikes by Honda, Hero and Bajaj give better mileage for similar or better configuration.

Re: yamaha szrr v2.0
Congrats on the new used SZ. Yes, the older generation gave less mileage which has been fixed in the newer gen. However, the bike is really good for a beginning rider or a commuter. Good initial pickup always compromise mileage. Keep it serviced regularly to munch on the miles without any trouble. Also, I would suggest a change in throttle and clutch cables as a five year old bike would mean its pretty worn.Originally posted by robinparriath View PostI bought a second hand SZ-X and it has exceeded my expectations. Re: yamaha szrr v2.0
Done 24k km in about 4yr. Except for oil change, air filter and normal services the bike hasn't undergone anything. It's a really good mid segment bike. You can also look at Yamaha saluto with disc brake if you dont ride too fast, which gives better fuel efficiency.Originally posted by Lianreuben Ngaihte View PostIm planning to buy this model very soon. Who needs more power?
While I was looking for 150cc bike for my friend, I got this doubt?
SZ RR V2
How much it misses power and torque of its rivals? It's better to know the practical point of view than the numbers on the paper. How much power one needs? I mean for general commuting, I don't think anyone would cruise @100kmph+. For a normal 50-60kmph (max of 80kmph), this less power/torque gonna hurt big? I don't think so... or the rivals are more comfortable than SZ @ 50-60 range because they have better power?
Hero offers (xtreme/Hunk) rear disc for a tad extra. Is this a better choice than SZ?

Re: Who needs more power?
I haven't got the chance to test the v2. I too want to know review from someone who owns a SZR v2. By the way, our models got phased out.Originally posted by gan View PostWhile I was looking for 150cc bike for my friend, I got this doubt?

Re: Who needs more power?
I think SZ-R was already phased out when SZ-RR was introduced, though i don't know what changes where made.... And now SZ-RR V2 is here.Originally posted by prajnyan View PostI haven't got the chance to test the v2. I too want to know review from someone who owns a SZR v2. As i also own SZ-R, do love it though only top speed(103) is dissatisfying... as i've seen many 100cc+ passing by me while am at top speed

That's funny.Originally posted by jP5an View PostAs i also own SZ-R, do love it though only top speed(103) is dissatisfying... as i've seen many 100cc+ passing by me while am at top speed

Does a 100cc could pull such a high speed???
My doubt is more of a general than SZ RR V2 specific. Comparing with other 150cc+ bike this low power/torque of SZ RR V2 is a big drawback for a rider who rides around 60kmph. What do you think, since you own a SZ R?
