    • Is it true that this bike has a high air intake already & so it isn't necessary to replace/change air filter as per the maintenance chart & just clean periodically (as claimed by users on this thread)
◆Experience: After fitting new air filter heat is felt when ridden on speeds upto 60 (inside city so staggered) for just 5 kms after initial 3-5 kms ridden on low rpms & <= 40kmph.
So is engine running hotter due to increased air flow ? What are the possible steps which could be taken ?
AFAIK all new bikes come with that non-lube type cable, dont know what its called but you're not supposed to lube it, you just replace them based on judgement.
If its paper filter like the FZ's then it would be best to change it @10k kms, If its foam type then you're the best judge when it comes to replacement.
Did you by any chance get carb tuned at SVC? If so they might have tuned it lean. Other than that heating in traffic is normal.

Now even I have a query about something related to my bike but I fear infact I am damn sure that the query/question will be ignored.

Mods! Pls spare some time for this thread. Please direct us to appropriate resource if the question is not related.

PS: To gain attention of the mods, I had reported my own post in this thread. Do I expected to do the same thing over and over again?
Why depend on mods, there are many knowledgeable people in this forum why not PM them or tag them in a post.
psr sir, sibun bro, pinaki sir etc, they'll surely be able to help you out if you ask them the right questions.

First of all , thanks for the help ashwinprakas.

But yes I just turned out the fuel screw a bit for the winter.
Plus wanted to try something with the carb so...
Hardly any settings on carb which can be handled easily (only idling & fuel screw) as, sz has T.P.S I think. (Main, needle, jet needle jets too complicated for me)

      Fuel screw turned in now.
But after riding checked the spark plug after air filter(paper type) replacement & somethings wrong, I think
      Images attached.

P.S: please tell me if anythings found wrong with the jetting & if engine running hot.(main thing to look out for is the deposits on the nut. WTH IS IT

You should check such type of things on Manual Booklet. Its mentioned on it.

                Okay okay.
You should keep 29at the front and 33 at the rear.
I hope its correct for sz-r also.

You should download the User Manual. A simple google search would give you the links.

Been using Shell Rimula T3 since 800 kms now.
Oil making gear changing rough.Engine heat felt on legs in just 4-5 km as opposed to 15-20 km on other oils used till now.(summers only)
But I think since everything has its pros n cons so- this oil can be used for making short trips of 4-5 km
All in all I think atleast this specific oil has aptly been made for tata vehicles with radiator (maybe R3X n R4 would fare better)
And another observation made in my 3 years of ownership is that since it has a detuned fz engine for more mileage, its engine runs hotter n so a colder plug is strongly recommended atleast for city riding, else loosen up those fuel jets n lose your mileage to make this engine last long.
                            'CPR9EA-9' needed. :sly: :screwy:
Anyways for me this is the last summer with XXW40 oil :banghead:
Update: discovered later that bike is running lean..so gear shifts maybe hard due to that..n 4 months after this post the gear spring broke so gear spring must have already been degrading..

How often should I replace the tube ? Is it some thing like once in 6 months or something?
