Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
Yamaha SZ-R launched as SZ-16 in Philippines.
Yamaha Motor Philippines
Also they have Yamaha SZ16 Adventure Challenge!

Now this is really interesting. I know this is much more capable machine and Yamaha took initiative in Philippines to showcase SZ-R AKA SZ16.

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
My SZR giving around 47-48 KMPL , which I think is decent enough as my drive is mostly with speeds above 60 KMPH. I am sure if one drives if more sedately with speeds in range of 50-60 KMPH , well tuned SZR will definitely give 50+ KMPL in moderate traffic.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI have seen some videos on youtube where hunks are touching 120 on speedo but I am posting here according to my personal experience.....

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
This time my bike gave me 42 kmpl which includes 70% of highway riding @70-75kmph and 30% of city riding. Performance of my bike is excellent but mileage is on lower side...Originally posted by Heisenburg View PostMy SZR giving around 47-48 KMPL , which I think is decent enough as my drive is mostly with speeds above 60 KMPH. Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
I do Agree. It seems the bike is dynamically stable between 50-60 Km/h only. That's the soft spot I guess. I had not precisely obtained the mileage but should be around 50 Km/l with moderate traffic and Highway condition.Originally posted by Heisenburg View PostMy SZR giving around 47-48 KMPL , which I think is decent enough as my drive is mostly with speeds above 60 KMPH. Haan naveen the same problem i was suffering from ....Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostThis time my bike gave me 42 kmpl which includes 70% of highway riding @70-75kmph and 30% of city riding. Performance of my bike is excellent but mileage is on lower side...
But i sold my bike... As u ar aware... I dont know yaha logo ko 50kmpl ka mileage kaise milta hai iss bije per
Still 50kmpl is mystery for me. Even my cusion (stupid fellow) purchased this and he is crying due to low mileage.
But one positive i can say its engine rocks... No complaint on this... I never drove unicorn or gs150r. But szr engine is butter smooth till last driven by me.

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
This time i got 44kmpl under city riding conditions
which is highest till date for my SZ-R....
Now I am sure it can give 50 under sane riding conditions with less ripping and speed below 60kph....sigpic

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
I recently checked mileage in a highly inaccurate way, reserve-to-reserve got about 47 kmpl last week with some ripping and traffic rides with very few signals. 50 kmpl this week, city riding, no signals, speed less than 60 kmph thanks to speed breakers. :-| (In an inaccurate way, my bike ran for 62 kms in Rs. 100 petrol, petrol is about Rs. 80 per liter), I ride my bike daily for about 16-17 kms, for office.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostThis time i got 44kmpl under city riding conditions

Yes it can give 50 kmpl under sane riding, but the engine demands to be revved lol :P I rev it till red-line whenever i get a chance, of course I do it after the engine sufficiently warmed up after a ride of atleast 5 kms.
PS: If you have messed up the run-in period then please dont blame the bike for poor mileage.

Re: Petrol lock for Yamaha SZR..!!!
Hunk has lesser top speed than extreme by as much as 5 kph. Although engine and transmission are same but the mapping on hunk and extreme are different. While the hunk has better initials than extreme but extreme will rev higher and thus has more top speed. The analogue speedo hunk/extreme has some error at top speed which showed higher reading. On my friends extreme i had touched 128 on speedo while crouched but that was speedo error. The new extreme/hunk comes with same wheel size and sensors as ZMR. The digital model speedo is bang on accurate to the V-box and also GPS. Overdrive has tested the digital speedo of ZMR and extreme with V-box and they show the exact reading as v-box.On my extreme which is digital one i regularly touched 115 kph when rolling from fifth gear from 45 kph. Measured it on Gps and was bang accurate. But when i ripped the bike in 4th to 100 kph and shifted to 5th with fully flat on tank i crossed 9k rpm for first time and bike was at 120 kph.So the true top speed of the extreme is somewhere 115 kph or more if pulled from 4th gear.Extreme has more top speed than unicorn because of simple reason that it revs more than unicorn. Apache 160 can hit 122 kph or more on speedo but its speedo has error and its true top speed is 118 kph.Trigger has less top speed and hits 108 kph true speed. Instead Dazzler had more top speed than trigger as its true top speed was 118 kph. Trigger mainly was made to address the low end and mid range performance for most of the riders are city riders.Extreme has more power than most 150 cc bikes at 14.4 ps. So it must be having some advantage. The advantage is that while other 150 cc on this side hit the triple digit speed fast then speed gain becomes slow, extreme on the other hand pulls very rapidly after 100 kph and hits it top speed. Most of the time you will think that you have another gear left. After 6k rpm it just revs very quick. These are the experience that i have gathered after 23k of riding my extreme.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostTop Speed (on speedo):honda unicorn= 110-115kmphhh hunk and hh cbz (digital speedos)= 110kmph maxmy friends old hunk use to hit 115 hh impulse= no ideap150= 110-112kmphapache 160= 120kmphtrigger= you can expect 115The old model hunk can cross 120 kph if pulled from 4th gear with being flat on tank. But the new model will go till 112 kph because its speedo is damn accurate and 112 kph is true top speed of hunk while extreme has a top speed of 115-116 true speed.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostA Small correction.. the HH Hunk can do 120kmph on the speedo.. i have a hunk.. the very first model that was launched in 2007.. it is still stock till now and it is just butter smooth.. you are getting very good mileage. I think its the best on this thread.Originally posted by lalitp View PostI recently checked mileage in a highly inaccurate way, reserve-to-reserve got about 47 kmpl last week with some ripping and traffic rides with very few signals. 50 kmpl this week, city riding, no signals, speed less than 60 kmph thanks to speed breakers. :-| (In an inaccurate way, my bike ran for 62 kms in Rs. 100 petrol, petrol is about Rs. 80 per liter), I ride my bike daily for about 16-17 kms, for office.

Re: Yamaha SZ-X / SZ-R
I dont know man. But last week I checked my bike's mileage, it was around 43-45 kmpl. On highway rides i used to get around 40 kmpl with speed excess of 80 kmph+,Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Postyou are getting very good mileage. I think its the best on this thread.
The mileage of this bike was never an encouraging point, it is always on lower side comparing to other 150 CC bikes, 'some people' here misunderstand it with 125 CC bike, and dont follow the proper run-in period and blame the bike, which in all honestly is wrong.
I agree, this bike is very good in city, also there are a lot of other equal or even better alternative to it in the market. But I like my bike, I enjoy riding it, I love its free revving nature, all thanks to 153CC Yamaha engine derived from FZ series.
