    +1 to that.

i checked the mileage on a rtr method and the results are 48kmpl with 80& highway rding. im not so happpy with this figure. so i am checking again, but this time i adjusted the AFR screw on the carburettor by a quarter clockwise turn ( leaner side) so im eagerly waiting for the results

        Hi

I'll be waiting for an update from you on this. Please do let us know if it increases mileage turning air/fuel screw clockwise (leaner mixture).

I was getting 51-53 kmpl but occasional misfire from exhaust which suggests bike is running on leaner mixture but those default factory settings so to say. Went to SVC, mechanic adjusted AFR scew and clutch. I think he did for rich mixture as mileage came down to 46 and when I checked spark plug was jet black on sides (brownish on top). I tried myself and turned screw clockwise (a quarter) and to my surprise mileage came down to 40.66 on 2.88 liters of petrol. BTW I'm getting fuel from same bunk every time.

Let's hear it from you :-)

        • Guys remove the Spark Plug and check the color of the tip.If its dark color, then its rich and you can make it leaner,Running very lean will over heat the engine and will reduce performance.

i did check with the quarter clock wise , but just like u said mine dropped to around 40kmpl so i turned it back to the stock setting. im just totally confused how turning it clock wise to make it lean, really made the FE to drop to 40 from 48. i was expecting to cross 50. damn....

im now checking with the stock setting once again. if i get around ~48ish kmpl i will turn the anti clock wise and then check agian. lets see.

aneesh, i checked to colour of the plug tip just before i turned the AFR screw clock wise, but it was normal no discolouration. so it suggested i was not running rich nor lean. but still the FE sucked.....

                • Hey All..

I bought my SZR abput 6 months ago and I am having a great time with it..
Decent mileage plus the vehicle is great ont he highways too.. Recently did a 400 km ride on it and loved the stability on the highways..

Now, I am planning to do a IBA SaddleSore 1600 ride on the bike and I am not sure whether the bike s setup will be right .. (considering it is a commuter) ..

However, I am planning to change the gearbox to that of the Suzuki GSX (6-speed gear) / any other available 6 speed gear box (Yamaha r15 perhaps ??)..

Has anyone done the same or know someone who has attempted this ??
                  your thoughts please..

                  • gave my bike for 2nd service 3000km, i had a problem with the disc brakes, it feels spongy and in effective after pressing for 10+sec. i mentioned it to the service mangager. he said its a complaint with the bybre disc. he said he will replace it under warranty with KBX the one in fz. the engine kill switch can be mounted by swapping the controls with that of FZ is what he said. i might do it later on. the bike handles good and i love to ride it. recently i adjusted the ride height by turning the adjustment thing on the suspension, but didnt feel much of diff, expect some roads felt more bumpier than in the stock condition

is it really possible to swap a r15/gs150r gear box with szr???? if yes then i'd also like to do it. always felt the need of a 6th gear.

Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

Wow! I am not the only one to face such issue with the disc brake. Even I feel it spongy and the brakes are not that effective. So its the Bybre issue, I had been following it up with Pune YFS but I am getting all sort of lame excuses.

                              PM'ing for some information.

                              Cheers!
