  • @ aneeesh. .. thanks dude. . I have to search good mechanic. . I left my bike @ service centre and came now only. ... missed ur post. .

    battery issue :
previous svc said that if u drive ur bike. . it Will recharge. . I waited more than 10 days. . no improvement. .I used to drive 20 km daily. . so today I ride around 160 km and came to my home town. . after that also battery didn't charge. . so took my bike to Pondicherry srinivasa yamaha. . found another good service centre. . the service manager was very kind. . he tested my battery and informed that battery is totally down. . we try to recharge. .if it doesn't work then we need to claim warranty. .. I said no problem I Will buy good battery instead of warranty claim. . Bcos I don't want that cheap minda battery. ..

don't knw why yamaha uses such worst battery. . my unicorn 5 years old still running perfectly. . this Yamaha us just 7 months old. .
ok lets see whats happening tomorrow. .

    mileage. ..
he said bike Will give u only 45 kmpl max 50 @ ec onomy speed ie 50kmph. . if u drive @ 70 like that it Will give 35 kmpl. . if u drive anything above u Will get less mileage only. ..

    so don't complaint about mileage guys. . I drive @ 70 - 80 kmph. .

today drive 80 - 100 kmph 160 km ride. .. one guy raced wit me. . he s having shine. .. szx is way ahead when
ccompare with shine. .. can't compare with other 150 cc. .

Bro you dont need to ride days and days to recharge a battery, say a 1km ride is enough.

IMO claim for warranty if not working and then exchange that battery with another one you are planning to buy.

I don't think so,Will get more than 50+,Let see... and riding ! 100 will reduce your mileage,no doubt.

      • About Battery, yes you need to get on the back of SVC to get it rectified if nothing works shoot (Yes SHOOT) an email to Yamaha back office, be harsh on them, I can guarantee you that they will call you! Mention your all problems along with your Chassis and engine number and dont forget to mention your mobile number in the email as they have database on mobile numbers. I did it and got all fixed.

Mileage, try riding in green zone, it will surely give you outstanding figures! I ride my SZ-R in green zone always returned me close to 50 Kmpl. Ripping on 60-70 returned close to 45 Kmpl. You can just give a try riding it in green zone and let me also tell you about my riding style, I ride in high gears all the time, after I start my bike in no time I am on 4 or 5th gear. I even ride my bike on 5th gear at speed 30 kmph and bike runs smooth without knocking! Try riding in high gears with very little stress on bike, dont rev hard in low gears, try to move to upper gear as fast as possible, see I dont feel ashamed when I see a girl on scooty zooms pass me, I am not riding for her, I am riding for myself. :-)

        Keep posting.

        Cheers!

i learnt another thing ... Yamaha gives cheap batttery Minda ..this is the cause for self motor issue also..guys now itself throw this battery & buy some good battery.. exide battery guy said...that minda is a cheap one...so they have given that with this bike... so its a high time guys... i am not going to claim for this battery ...

Then i spoke with yamaha supervisor @ pondicherry ..he is so kind & shared lot of things...
check ur tyre pressure every month its very important .. front tyre 25 ...back tyre 35...

yes lsp i will try to ride within green mark & lets seee whether it increases my mileage...

I dont know about minda batteries,Heard that minda switches are of good qualities for bikes.

            guys anyone removed saree guard??
IMO dont remove saree guard,i have a saree guard in my karizma,Its not for protecting saree ,its for protecting my bike.If you have a saree guard most of the hit will be taken by the saree guard itself and you fiber parts wont get scratched or damaged.Just my thought

                    • SVC experience

after having a shocker of 26kmpl mileage. i have filled 7.46 lit of gas and still riding to finish it off and check the mileage again. this time around, i am seeing a huge difference in the fuel meter. 200 kms have been travelled in 2 days and i feel half of that 7.46 litres is still there in my tank. (atleast 40kmpl).
I took the bike to SVC on saturday to get the disc brakes checked. the service personnel sked me to try the discs on the r15, FZ and other SZRs that were just unloaded from the truck. i found everything to be similar. he explained to me that yamaha discs are differently fitted compared to those on pulsars, hondas. I asked about a possible air bubble inside the fluid tank, he unscrewed it and showed to me that nothing was wrong. i now feel a lot more comfortable. the bike is tempting me to ride beyond 60 and fell it but i resist that temptation coz i have to see off the run in period

You cannot see air bubbles, just open it up and press the brake lever for 10-15 times, air will go if any and the braking will be good there after, try it if you have a screw driver. If you see air bubbles coming while pressing the lever, then is air.

                        • Went to Lavasa yesterday on SZ-R, it was an amazing experience! I went with my friend, who have Fazer.

Riding through the cloud, twists and turns, heavy downpour! Its amazing! Greenery everywhere!

My SZ-R showed it also posses good touring capabilities. Top low end helped in climbing the ghats with much of ease! It was my first time I rode in the ghats. No problems what so ever in the riding, no riding fatigue. Right wrist is paining a bit as I was not habitual of twisting the throttle (I need to work out to gain the fitness )

It was all wet road till the end, and TVS tyres performed as expected, I did not do fancy cornering as I was not confident about it, but the road-grip was good.

Mileage above 45 Kmpl, may be more than this, as I did not how much petrol was there in the petrol tank when I refueled it.

At what kmph you rode in the tour? must be between 50-70kmph that's why you got good mileage. Yes every yamaha bikes can be used fully as touring machine.

You are spot on buddy! I rode between 50-70 Kmph, it dropped to 40 Kmph in clouds and in heavy rains.

Now Planning to go to some place else which will be much more distant than Lavasa, may be Mahabaleshwar one day ride. Around 120 kms in one direction, which will be 250 kms of ride.
