Talking about gears, my bikes gears are still hard and stiff. I am planning to change oil at 1000 kms, my first service was done when very little running was done (367 kms), as I could not ride my bike due to some personal emergencies. I am not sure about oil change even though SVC charged me for oil, is there any way to check if the oil is changed or not?Originally posted by Naughty VaIsH View Postgood to hear did you checked your mileage ? hows the gears now ? is it smooth to shift ?
Next time onwards I am gonna stand there to get oil changed, I dont want to be in doubt.
The bike is still smooth and clean, no hickups, almost 2 months completed. I just go out put the key in and hit the start button and there she roars! Superb feeling! Not regretting to eliminate Unicorn due to waiting period as the quality of parts Unicorn has and my SZ R has I dont see much of difference. ;-) But about engine refinement Unicorn and GS150R are way way way ahead of SZ R.

First service
Gear shifting is fine. smooth.. i am loving it.. High beam headlight shows us all the owls sitting on the trees, but dim works fine. That was one complaint, I got rectified, to an extent. Now I can see the branches only.
I am amazed at the drive quality and handling capability of the bike in the city.. This bike should go places...as a commutor bike that is... honestly....Last edited by chasejp; 04-03-2011, 03:58 PM.

confused
Hi guys i want to buy a bike and iam confused between szx and szr.personally i like the szx design.i dont like the tank design of szr(my personal opinion).i found out that the drum brakes on szx are also good though not as good as the disc on szr. Is szr any better in terms of the engine or any other feature?

Exactly! I did not like the bulky tank design of the SZR. So I purchased SZX and I am happy about it.Originally posted by kiran2001 View PostHi guys i want to buy a bike and iam confused between szx and szr.personally i like the szx design.i dont like the tank design of szr(my personal opinion).i found out that the drum brakes on szx are also good though not as good as the disc on szr. But SZR has more options like disc brake and tachometer.
It depends on your driving habits, and all. For me SZ-X brakes are sufficient and they are working fine. When u drive defensively, those big drum breaks are sufficient on Indian roads. That is what I feel and experience. Other specifications are the same for both.

regarding the design ..i agree with you bro .. i tested szx and booked szr as all sz model has same spec ..and design & price differs , but the sxr has a disc and rpm meter ..thats it .. but for me i feel szr looks cool ..so booked that .. go for what you like bro and as per the your budget ..Originally posted by kiran2001 View PostHi guys i want to buy a bike and iam confused between szx and szr.personally i like the szx design.i dont like the tank design of szr(my personal opinion).i found out that the drum brakes on szx are also good though not as good as the disc on szr. SZ-X....Best choice...
Hi kiran bro, from my opinion, buying the sz-r only for its disc and tacho is not worth the penny if u like the design of sz-x very much...I also own sz-x...Initially i felt the break is weak ans was not satisfied with my bike's break part....Originally posted by kiran2001 View PostHi guys i want to buy a bike and iam confused between szx and szr.personally i like the szx design.i dont like the tank design of szr(my personal opinion).i found out that the drum brakes on szx are also good though not as good as the disc on szr. But two days back, whn i was on the way to ma office, Suddenly a dog came in front of ma bike

... (I was cruising @ the speed of 60KMPH). Really, i dont know what to do at that time

, but the big drum @ front has saved me from kissing the ground(and dog too). If it were the disk, for the hard brake i applied, i might have kissed the ground. So i feel that the drums of sz-x does the job pretty well.... Its ur turn to make ur own decision buddy.... Let us know what u have decided....

Mineral Oil should be used strictly for the first 3-4k and after that you can go for Semi-Synthetic oil for 2k then finally switch to Full synthetic oil.And yeah just go for 20W-40 not any other grade.http://www.facebook.com/#!/Harshcaprio
