So I think there are less participants. And Yamaha should have done some better mode then just detuning it. If you compare P150 performance Vs FZ/SZ then FZ/ SZ loses the war. Now we all are looking for better options with better packages.Don't know why Yamaha is not versatile/agile company ??Here Bajaj and Honda are launching different models but Yamaha thinks he can win the leagues with R15 and FZ only.Lets see when some better models comes out ?
Some what true. Its not case only in 150cc segment, look at Yamaha 100 cc and 125 cc segment bikes. I dont think they know something called Refreshing looks ?? I saw one YBR supposedly brand new, and there was only one way to ascertain that it was brand new. It has its indicators wrapped in plastic sheet. sad. Point taken, they are having best engines but looks do count.

SZR though has very strong point in its favor...its price. Its more than VFM. In delhi for an example with OTR of 64 K, it costs whole 12 K cheaper than P150, 10 K cheaper than Hunk/CBZ, 14 K cheaper than Apache 160/FZ with almost same mileage figures. So nothing to lose except some power. Other VFM in 150 cc segment is Unicorn with OTR of arnd 71 K in IMO.

Raising help me thread for each and every thing would not appropriate, if I had to raise help me thread for every (noob) problem or (noob) query then whole purpose of having ownership thread blows away. And if raising help me thread is the only option to get the queries addressed then we dont need this ownership thread, & it should be locked.

Follow the run-in period instruction as per manual, read the entire manual once. Run-in period would decide many factors in the future, engine life, mileage to an extent, performance.

Make sure you have manual specified air pressure in front and rear. Tyre do have a run-in period too, please take little care for for first 300-400 kms. Tyres are not that good, so make sure you are completely aware when riding on pavor blocks and cement road. Try and avoid riding with pillion, if not possible then it doesnt really matter.

Dont get bothered with mileage before first service, it will be less, a typical property of a new engine. The mileage will improve after 1st or 2nd service.

        Cheers!

Is it possible to swap headlight bulb of sz-r with fz bulb as glow of fz headlight is much better than sz-r and what should I do to for better illumination of speedometer console because illumination of red color is very low...glow in tachometer dial is still somewhat acceptable but its very poor on speedo dial...

            My two cents:

            a. Let bike idle for say 30-40 seconds before riding it for first time in day.

            b. Never ride on constant RPM/speed/gear, keep varying them.

            c. For first 2-3 KMs, keep it at relatively lower RPMs also making sure that engine is not lugging.

            d. Keep it below maximum speed( specified for run in period )mentioned in manual. I think it would be somewhere between 40-50 KMPH.

Your issue seems like either rich Air Fuel Ratio or faulty Spark plug. Please check this. It may not have bore piston problem at this kms.

First thing, Dont let local mechanics fiddle with bike wiring etc. As any modification/wiring cut can lead to warranty issues. For headlight, you can go to good spare part shop and ask them for head lights bulbs of Phillips or OSRAM with power rating same as your bike's headlight bulb. Most probably it will be 12V/35 W but you can confirm this from manual. This power rating is very important as bulbs of higher rating can put unneccesary load on bike's electricals and headlight dome. For speedometer glow, I cannot suggest anything that can be done without fiddling with bike electricals. Probably SZR has AC wiring setup ( SZR owners can confirm this ) . This means you will get good glow when bike is driven in high RPMs and not so good glow in lower RPMs. This is applicable for both headlight/speedometer glow.

Its coming with DC wiring set-up and yes, its coming with 35w osram bulb but its illumination is poor where as fz which is coming with same 35w bulb is having good illumination...I think fz is having Philips 35w hs1 as default bulb...

There are many series in OSRAM/Philips.... ones that are fitted in bike are of standard type. Look for high end bulbs.

Its normal. The disc pads are new it will take some time to settle in. What you can do is park the bike on center stand and move the front tyre to check the free movement of it, if it is freely moving with that noise, no need to worry about it.
