Athul was using Ceat Vertigo right before he sold his bike, it w as a good tire and the cost was also reasonable, give it a shot.

      • tyres.... hmm... let me tell you ceat vertigo (100/90 17) is costing you 1900rs in delhi, Zapper C again on same price bracket.

Zapper Y cost you 2000rs even i am looking for change of tyre.. but zapper y is not easily available in Delhi.

If someone want to use second hand tyre (stock tyre - rear one- TVS) i can sell of the same with tyre + tube around 500rs, as my bike only completes 3500 kms..

            • Knock Knock... koi Zinda hai

Anyway yesterday (24.02.12), I replaced my stocked REAR TVS tube type tire to TUBELESS Tyre of CEAT SPORT (VERTIGO) (100/90x17) of just Rs. 1,200/-.

Actual cost of tire is Rs. 1750/- (inclusive of all like labour and etc.) and he took my old tyre of cost Rs. 500.

Next modification is on mind is to replace stock light with HID kit.. I checked with my local shop (which is known to me since last 8 years) , a HID kit available with blaster and relay only Rs.1200 Rs. that too without cutting of any wire...

He assured me that this modification will done without any cutting of Wire.

              • Hello to all SZ R Owners.
I am from bangalore planning to buy SZ R in Red color. Read lot of reviews about the low mileage in SZ R, please let me know if this the problem with all the SZ R bikes and should I buy this bike or not.
                Waiting for your reply.
                Thanks in advance.

Hi Bro, How are you ?? I havent been active on XBHP from looooong time. Just for update, I have bought Honda Twister. To cut long story short, All my requirements were getting fulfilled with 100cc bike and after lot of reading and research I find out Honda Dream Yuga and Twister to be VFM bike in 100 cc segment. So I chose stylish out of two !! I enquired for HID kit in Karol bagh with big shop stocking various bike accesories, He quoted 750 for one model and ~ 800 for other model. If you are interested, I can provide shop name and address. I didnt bought HID kit as according to me, these mechanics will cut wire or two even before we can say STOP !!!!! Other option you can try is OSRAM headlight bulbs, no messing with wires required.

Now thats a great new about tyre! I wont be jumping the gun and asking about grip, handling etc, as these question would be more appropriate after the completion of 'Tyre Run-in', Yes there is a run-in period for tyres as well.

As far as HID is concerned, I have no information about it. May be you can try your queries in this thread: Universal Thread > Let there be Light : Bike Lighting, HID etc

                    Please keep us updated.

                    Cheers!

Bhai Listen, what you want from bike in Rs. 64,000/- a decent and pippy ride mileage hover around 45 kmpl (i am getting 43-45 kmpl in delhi traffic). very smooth engine like honda unicorn, sexy styling, if you calculate the total money spent by you on petrol after purchase another 150 cc motorcyle, you will see the answer.

As i dont mind of spending only Rs. 64,000/- and getting mileage around 45kmpl. How much i saved ...?? In Delhi Unicorn is around 71,000 , hero bike starts from 75,000 ; bajaj pulsar starts from 76000rs).. think ... :d

Completely makes sense, SZR is VFM bike in 150cc segment. and that too with Yamaha badge ! In 150cc segment,Bajaj Pulsar are no more VFM...even Heros and Hondas are cheaper than them now !

                            • Did a small ride yesterday from Pune - Mumbai 165 kms. Had it serviced about a week ago. Switched to the Yamalube SS, earlier I had Elf Moto 4XT 10W50 Fully Synthetic, ripped the hell out of her (in low gears) on the highway whereever I got chance , cross winds slowed down in between, since there is no fairing the cross wind effect shows.

Got around 40+ kmpl on this journey (May be more as it is yet to hit the reserve)

Tappet noise is really getting into my head, there is very minor roughness on low RPMs from the engine, according to the local mech the tappet and valves needs adjustment, I will get it done from my trusted mechanic as SVC wont listen to it and wont attend to it so no chance for me to go there.

And BTW my bike is complete stock, 2 years done.

                              Cheers!

Just want to know one thing why you again shifted to normal oil, after while used synthetic oil. Any specified reason...

In mean time , my clutch cable again ripped off from the clutch lever, so i changed whole system like clutch lever along with clutch outer with wire from local market not from service station total cost comes 260rs.
