    You will have to wait it out since the three most active Gladiator users on xbhp own the old model.
    Why don't you try visiting the Yamaha service center nearby for the air filter?
    I will try to get a pic if in case I visit the dealer who sells the spares.

    P.S.: You can also try asking for pic on the famous social networking site.

        Another disaster to add to my woes:Was returning from an errand,doing about 60 behind a wagon R. Was keeping the traditional one vehicle gap between the two. Suddenly out of the blue the Wagon R doing 80 braked to a halt. I squeezed the brakes,the rear skidded to a great extent but managed to save myself from what could have been a serious accident.
        Obviously I had to give the driver a piece of what I thought of his driving so I pulled up alongside and it turns out it was a lady who stopped because she had to attend to a call from her boyfriend right in the middle of the road.
        And then she gives me a smile like nothing has happened. I swear I would have shot her..........Anyway,after that the Gladiator seems different. Somehow I feel the rear tyre isn't falling in line with the front. During corners sometimes it feels like the rear will skid.
        I checked the handle.Left it and it's still rock stable.Took it to a nearby mechanic and he said the bike was running fine.No issues.
        But I cant seem to get this feeling from my head. Something feels different and I cant put my finger on what it is.

        P.S.: The front right side indicator has conked off on its own.Weird.

            something even worse

            This happened about 3 months ago.
            Chennai-Banglore highway.
            Me on my Glady doing about 80KMPH, straight road, bike flying
            I get stuck behind a mini bus, that too going fast.
            I, to overtake, got to the right side rear end, about to open up the throttle even more, to zoom past...and then...it happened.
            the person sitting on the back seat of the minibus, put his head out and vommited out of the window,
            and all of it flew straight into my face you know like in slipstream or something..well helmet and jacket saved my day.
            It was terrible..

                  Ride report after completing 15 thousand kms.
                  1. Rear brake shoes gone.
                  2. Clutch gone.
                  3. Front right side indicator bulb fused.
                  4. Rear wheel bearing damaged.
                  5. Pick-up:There wasn't any.

                  Got the bike serviced in Castrol Bike Zone. Switched to Motul 5100. Replaced the brake shoes and the above mentioned parts. Only rode for a couple of kms but the bike feels good. Infact it feels excellent.
                  I will wait till the new engine oil settles down,so as to tell if it's good or not for the Gladiator. Now a summission of my experiences till now.
                  Moving from the Discover 125 to the Gladiator has been hard. Both emotionally and physically. Kept missing the sound and the torque of the Discover a lot.The first two months were spent just working on getting things right. Changing this part or the other. Trying this and that. Until the time came when I realized that there wasn't anything I could do to make it better.I had to live with it like it was. Not to mention,there have been quite a lot of disasters during the first three months. After that though,it has been a smooth sailing. And I am happy to admit that the Gladiator has all the magic that Yamahas are born with.
                  What I like:
                  It looks excellent.Very good road presence since not many people buy it. In any case,you have a better chance of spotting the SS/RS models than the older DLX. The 'tank-ons' give a much more muscular feeling on the DLX variant. The new SS/RS dont feel that big.
                  The engine isnt as torquey as the Discover but it is relentless. Once the speedometer starts climbing,it climbs at the same rate throughout till 80. And the best of all is the way it feels at high speeds. There's absolutely nothing that vibrates. Nothing. Infact,it feels more planted at high speeds. It's as if every part is being pushed into place when you are above 60. No other bike even among the 'normal' 150cc segment (except for the Unicorn) feels as planted as the Gladiator does.
                  The seating position is comfortable.Good for 6 foot people. Good for touring.
                  Overall the bike feels quite sporty.Corners are a breeze at high speeds. The Discover is a bit faster through the corners though. And it's all down to how the handle is positioned in the Gladiator. It's the most commuterish of the lot. I reckon if the handlebars were a tiny-winy bit more sportier set up then I could do a bit of my humble leans on this one too.

                  What I dont like:
                  The torque: There isnt any.
                  The sound:Not to everyone's liking. Actually it sounds like a Bajaj autorickshaw with a touch of metal in it. I got embarrassed on the first day. Stopped and was waiting for some people to cross the road. One of them looked at the bike and made an observation on the sound: "Ye to auto wali bike hai".
                  The mileage: 45-50kmpl. Above 50 is still a dream.
                  The rusting: Is severe. Most of the nuts have rusted.So has a part of the leg guard. It looks hideous on my otherwise mindbogglingly shiny bike.
                  The spare parts: Still waiting for the tail panels and alloys to arrive.

                  Overall I am satisfied. There is a plan for a 500km stint in the future and the Gladiator feels more than capable of meeting up with the challenge.

                      Dude,I couldn't get hold of an airfilter in the Yamaha SC. Nor do the dealers stock it. Dont worry because I have placed an order for one. Will be arriving with the tail panels and the alloys. I will keep it for experimentation.

                        Mine will complete 15K kms by this month end. It has been pretty good till now. In my last service I asked the service people to look into front suspension as it was making some thud noise when I push the suspension till the end. Of course, It was not the mud guard . After this the suspension has become much worse. Noise has stopped but now getting whobbling problem . No idea what these service guys did. They billed me close to a grand.

                          Greetings everyone. First post here.

                          @Deepakumar
                          The stock Air fiter pics after 3000 kms. Doesnt have the mfg name stamped. Not sure if time for a change, since the fins look bent.
                          The air flow is from left to right, Airfilter-Some Gap-Carb Inlet Duct. Not sure if filtered air becomes contaminated at the gap before carb inlet.
                          Your thoughts please.

                          @DASCO

                          It happened to me too!
                          Just then and there, a mechanic came, opened the side cover of battery, pulled out some relay stuff stored behind the batterey casing, unplugged the relay, replugged it and thats it!!!!
                          When collecting my bike at the "Onion Motors" SC, Koramangala, found that the horn was bleating like a choked goat & indicator buzzer went kaput.
                          SC tech said that water will dry out from the innards, and would be ok.

                          After 6 kms, entire electricals went limp! with Headlamps, tail lamp etc not functioning. Was late in the evening. I was a dummy, & had a friend (the full pots make no noise type!) have a look. He checked detach/ attached the contacts at battery leads, fuse & cuttovator? (capacitor/relay as he called it.).
                          Bingo! things are back to normal.

                          The Rs 70 indicator buzzer fitted by the dealer has never worked. I need to locate it & remove.

                          @nightwing
                          methinks when YMIS named the bike Gladiator, they meant the owner's temperament required to live with the bike! whatsay?

                            It's a good job they didn't ask me to name it. Because then it would have ended up being called the 'swear-iator' or 'I-am-going to make your life miserable by conking off one part or the other-iator'.

                              A somewhat snug panel cover with 4 screws covers the filter + carb inlet. The bike's exterior panel goes on top of this. So is contamination really a reason for worry?
