As per my experience XXW50 grade is wasted on the Gladiator. Though your bike will run smoother(which is completely psychological since the acceleration goes down),the bike will overheat since the oil is still more viscous than required for it to be circulated properly.
When I drained the Motul after 2 months of hard riding and keeping the bike in the sun for 8 hrs daily, the oil was still as thick as new. That's how good Motul is (for other bikes that is ) It will do fine in Bajaj bikes since their engine run quite hot.
So what you should essentially look for is good engine oils in the grades 10W40,15W40 and 20W40.
    Castrol Power 1 is 15W40.
Castrol Power 1 Racing is 10W40.
Any Motul in the above grade.
Also as Hydbiker sir said,Petronas and Gulf Pride are also good.
I am using Power 1 in my Gladiator currently and the difference from Motul is notifiable, the bikes revs up good and not to mention the soundtrack is more pronounced.
Personally, having ridden a Gladiator Type JA running on Power One Racing,I would say it's worth it and is quite an improvement from Power One. Very good oil though a bit pricy. My next oil change would be for Racing.

    • ^^ Ill be getting Castrol Power 1 Racing too for my next service... Will be getting it from a new Castrol Bike Zone opened near my house so i can be pretty sure it wont be fake...

I recently gave my bike for a check at the CBZ... After the rain prob i complained about... Couldn give it Yamaha SC as they were too full and said that they will take a day or two to take in my bike....Although im not sure if that prob is fixed( Ill know when it rains) the bike seems to be a lot smoother now... Feels a lot better and im happy with the work the bike zone guys did... And being able to see them work on my bike definitely helped as in I knew what they were doing and could see that they did it properly. Secondly i also learned a lot from just looking at them work.

I have heard a lot of bad reviews of Bike Zone but these guys certainly did a good job. Will be going back to them for my next service and hopefully ill have a good experience again.

        Hi all,

Im new to xBhp and happy that Im here. I own Glady DLX purchased on 04.01.07. Till now I have good time with my ride though there were few crashes & small accidents Im happy with it.

        Few Cons I found:
Less power if we have a Pillion, crossing 80 itself is a big deal (Im not sure about the other users, but I face this issue. Please let me know if anyone else find this and have done anything to improve the pulling)
Headlight is not much powerful. Horn sound is very less and.... thats what I remember tight now.

Big problem which I am worried about regarding my bike is the crack in the Oil Compartment. There is a small crack on the thread at the bottom of the Oil Tank and because of that there was engine oil leackage. A mechanic at the showroom done some temporary welding and stopped the leakage temporarily. But I dont know what to do to make it perfect.

If I have to cure it permanently I have to change the bottom part of the Oil tank and for which we have to open the engine and mechanic said that the performance will become less if I do that. Please lemme knw if anyone else got this issue and is there anything that I can do.

        Thanks in Advance.

        • Post 240*2 km tour update

Hi Guys! Back on Sunday from a 490 km roundtrip to Virajpet KA12 - Southwest of Bangalore .
Avg speed of the journey: 60 kmph. Counting in butt breaks=40kmph
Max speed: 100 kmph on Speedo @ 8k rpm, 5th gear. The Gladi couldnt push further. Revs to 9k at 3rd gear. But not at 4th, 5th.
Mileage: Tanked up Shell unleaded on OM Road. mileage b/w fuel reserve odo readings = 40 kmpl ! It usually is 56 kmpl in city limits.
Not sure if its because of:
Much of it was used up against wind resistance.
extra contact friction of the ribbed Ceat Secura FS 85 at the front?
          pads rubbing against disc rotor.
I smell a fuel leak somewhere in the line.or a combo of all the above?

Never inspected my battery from a year. Electrolyte levels are inches below minI(is it the black fluid outline against the white case background? ). After placing the battery back in place, starter motor was not firing up . & horn bleated like a starved goat .

Engine & gear shift are smoother now. But exhaust note is slightly louder & noisy. Your thoughts please

^Is it the Ahmed Bikes, MAHADEVPURA, , MARATHAHALLI ORR? The 1st paid service is due. I'm heading to neighbourhood mech / CBZ. The service too at the authorised SC is volume driven. Oil likely Sprinta 4T 4000 or Veedol Super Swift Synth Blended 10W40.

^Did you guys observe this on your Gladi too?
          Edit:
The mileage calculation could be wrong. I could've got the incorrect reserve odo reading.

Yes,that is it. Take a screw driver and fiddle around tightening the two screws on the terminals of the battery and trust me the self starter will come alive. That's how I fixed my Gladiator's self start shorting issue. Put some grease on the terminals too.
Also I had the tools to open the front cowl of the Gladiator so after an hour of fiddling and fighting with wires I seem to have put on the speedometer cable myself. It costs Rs 62.75 for the disc brake variant.

Solo: very much . I didnt roam around at all. Just to home & back. I'm having ideas for a 2-3 day freeranging + offroading . We could ride then. BTW what were your avg speeds on the Gladi ride to Thrissur... just to see where I stand .

Grease/petroleum jelly Is it advisable at all? Heard unverified claims that it affects electrical conductivity at the terminals & will chemically decompose too

Which now means to me that, do not stay on 1st gear , with the clutch fully disengaged, waiting at the signals. Shift to Neutral.
                      Hey,

Tried what u did today on my bike... N yes the rear wheel does continue turning on disengagement of the clutch... I don no if this is a prob or if it is normal... But i'm pretty sure than the bike wont move forward when you are in a signal and waitin in first gear...

Thanks for checking! but then there is a load & the clutch is stressed when waitin in 1st gear

                          • ^^ its the same on my bike also, I dont think there is anything to worry about.
My bike has done 23K, 6 years and so far nothing changed. Other than the clutch, spedo cables, and a few blubs.

that's normal to most bikes. Don't worry.
