This stuff is for Bappi Lahiri, not for normal people. And who thought that a green rim tape is a good idea?
300 Rs for a brake adjusting NUT. Sorry I can adjust it myself just fine.

I think buying these would be a total waste for money. None of them even match the colour of my bike.. And wats with the prices?? In the R15 accesories the air cap costs 120 bucks!!!! And rim stripes for 300!!!!

        • back to glady-ing

          guys

I was away for the last couple of weeks and could not use the bike.
I had done a major service just before I left and the bike was and is really running smooth now.
Electric start and battery are back in operation, brakes are good, handling good and overall running well now.
I have a small patch of rubber placed inside my tyre to protect tube from tear due to damage in tyre after a puncture by a local road side tyre wala.
somehow now that seems to be affecting ride at the front esspecially on smooth roads.Esspecially while cruising.
Any remedies. should I change the front tyre? Then I better change both the tyres.

The patch might be causing some problems... And how exactly is the tyre damaged?? Is the thread of the tyre still in good condition??

            • Is this a good time to disclose that the self start of my bike just conked off without any reason? Along with complete breakdown of the console electrics. And the speedometer cable that the dealer bought was a Fazer one and it wouldn't fit because it's half a finger short.
This is becoming a habit. I am seriously thinking of selling my Gladiator now and getting a second hand Unicorn. I am getting a good deal. The Uni has done only 7k kms.

But then I cant bring myself to part with my Gladiator. I like to keep my bikes till they die. I will keep her till every single bolt falls off or even spare parts would cease to exist. Even then I will just duct tape her together to keep her running.
I think I am keeping the Gladiator......forever,if circumstances allow me.

Check the inside wall of the tyre for damages, if the reinforced fabric is damaged , like a thread bared hole we cut on our denims . I bumped my front wheel hard in succesion in a pothole. The stock Zapper was damaged. changed to the Ceat ribbed tread 'cos zapper was not in stock. The grip feels better on wet roads..

                        • component upgrade

                          guys

Something I forgot to inform you all..
During the last service, SC guys have added something that they say will protect the disk pad as per directions from the company.
All vehicles in for service now requires this to be fixed as per company instructions. It is some kind of Disk pad protection.Cant figure out how it works though.
                          Please see pictures..
                          Anybody with some inputs?
Has anybody got this thing fixed?

And about the front tyre, I think there is some damage to the insides of the tyre and that will in turn damage the tube. Hence patch is placed.

and TomSawyer, is the Ceat better than MRF Zappers. Me planning to change the tyres. Which is the best for the Glady.Think new gladys com with Zappers.

Took some pics of the bike too....

My disc brakes are still shiny new.Except for the weird noise problem,I have never faced any issue. I would be happy if Yamaha were to replace all the electrics in my bike with new reliable ones.Wouldn't mind paying for that.

Is that a DLX version? And you have put Graffiti stickers and alloys on it? My bike's handlebars are different than yours. Weird.......

Not yet, likely on 30 Apr . That makes it 500 km roundtrip, & next service ,oil change due.

Its the Ceat ribbed tread one at the front, the RX's used to sport. Will update specs tomorrow. Rear is still the stock Zapper. Changed front only 'cos bumped it really hard & looked like an exit wound from inside.
I felt the front Zapper's grip was always flimsy. Ceat just glues to the road. Great on wet surfaces. & has been great on hill twisties. But the flickability, & quick steering corrections are not possible now. The sportiness of the ride has been kinda' robbed.
